Іякаў, раб Бога і Госпада Ісуса Хрыста, — дванаццаці плямёнам, якія ў рассеянні: Радавацца!

James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.

Лічыце ўсялякаю радасцю, браты мае, кожны раз, калі трапляеце ў розныя выпрабаванні,

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

ведаючы, што праверка вашай веры выпрацоўвае вытрываласць.

Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

А вытрываласць няхай мае свой дасканалы вынік, каб вы былі дасканалыя і цэласныя, ні ў чым не мелі нястачы.

But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

Калі ж у каго з вас нестае мудрасці, няхай просіць у Бога, Які дае ўсім шчодра і без папроку, і дасца яму.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Але няхай просіць з вераю, ані не сумняваючыся, бо той, хто сумняваецца, падобны да марской хвалі, якую гоніць і кідае вецер.

But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

Бо няхай той чалавек не думае, што ён атрымае нешта ад Госпада,

For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

двудушны чалавек няўстойлівы на ўсіх сваіх дарогах.

A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

І няхай прыніжаны брат ганарыцца ў сваім узвышэнні,

Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:

а багаты — у сваім прыніжэнні, бо, як палявая кветка, ён адыдзе.

But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.

Бо ўзышло сонца са спякотаю і высушыла траву, і кветка яе апала, і краса яе выгляду загінула; так і багаты завяне на сваіх дарогах.

For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.

Дабраславёны чалавек, які выстойвае перад спакусаю, бо, будучы, выпрабаваным, ён атрымае вянок жыцця, які Ён1 абяцаў тым, хто любіць Яго.

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

Няхай ніхто пры спакусе не кажа: «Мяне спакушае Бог», бо не спакушаецца Бог злом і Сам не спакушае нікога.

Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

Але кожны спакушаецца зваблены і зманены ўласнай пажадлівасцю;

But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

пасля пажадлівасць, зачаўшы, нараджае грэх; а зроблены грэх спараджае смерць.

Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

Не падманвайцеся, браты мае ўлюбёныя.

Do not err, my beloved brethren.

Кожнае добрае дарэнне і кожны дасканалы дар — з вышыняў, зыходзіць ад Бацькі свяцілаў, у Якога няма змянення і ні ценю перамены.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Ён, захацеўшы, нарадзіў нас словам праўды, каб мы былі некаторым пачаткам Яго стварэнняў.

Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

Ведайце2, браты мае ўлюбёныя: няхай жа кожны чалавек будзе хуткі, каб слухаць, марудлівы, каб сказаць, марудлівы — гневацца;

Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

бо гнеў чалавека не творыць праведнасці Божай.

For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

Таму, адклаўшы ўсялякі бруд і празмернасць злосці, з лагоднасцю прыміце пасаджанае ў вас слова, якое можа выратаваць вашы душы.

Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

Будзьце ж выканаўцамі слова, а не толькі слухачамі, якія ашукваюць саміх сябе.

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Бо калі хто слухае слова, а не выконвае, той падобны да чалавека, які разглядвае ў люстэрку сваё аблічча, што мае ад нараджэння;

For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:

бо ён разгледзеў сябе і пайшоў, і адразу забыўся, які ён.

For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

Але хто паглыбляецца ў дасканалы закон, закон свабоды і жыве ў ім, будучы не забыўлівым слухачом, а выканаўцам работы, той будзе шчаслівы ў сваёй дзейнасці.

But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

Калі хто думае, што ён набожны і не зацугляе свайго языка, але ашуквае сваё сэрца, — марная таго набожнасць.

If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.

Чыстая і беззаганная набожнасць перад Богам і Бацькам вось што: даглядаць сіротаў і ўдоваў у іх бядзе, захоўваць сябе незаплямленым ад свету.

Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
