Аб тым, што было ад пачатку, што мы чулі, што бачылі на свае вочы, што мы разгледзелі і нашы рукі абмацалі — аб Слове жыцця,

We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning,a whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life.

і жыццё з’явілася, і мы бачылі, і сведчым, і абвяшчаем вам гэтае вечнае жыццё, якое было ў Бацькі і з’явілася нам,

This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life. He was with the Father, and then he was revealed to us.

што мы бачылі і чулі, мы абвяшчаем і вам, каб і вы мелі ўзаемнасць з намі. А наша ўзаемнасць — з Бацькам і з Яго Сынам Ісусам Хрыстом.

We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.

І гэта мы1 пішам, каб радасць наша2 была поўнаю.

We are writing these things so that you may fully share our joy.b

І вось гэтая вестка, якую мы чулі ад Яго і абвяшчаем вам: Бог ёсць святло, і няма ў Ім ніякай цемры.

This is the message we heard from Jesusc and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.

Калі мы кажам, што маем узаемнасць з Ім, але ходзім у цемры, мы лжэм і не жывём па праўдзе;

So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth.

калі ж ходзім у святле, падобна, як Ён ёсць у святле, то маем узаемнасць адзін з адным і Кроў Ісуса [Хрыста], Яго Сына, ачышчае нас ад усялякага граху.

But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

Калі мы кажам, што не маем граху, мы самі сябе ашукваем, і праўды няма ў нас.

If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth.

Калі мы вызнаём свае грахі, Ён, верны і праведны, даруе нам грахі і ачысціць нас ад усялякай няправеднасці.

But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

Калі мы кажам, што мы не саграшылі, то робім яго лгуном і слова Яго няма ў нас.

If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.
