Сымон Пётар, слуга і апостал Ісуса Хрыста, — тым, якія прынялі з намі роўна каштоўную веру ў праведнасьці Бога нашага і Збаўцы Ісуса Хрыста:

Simon Peter, a bond-servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have received a faith of the same kind as ours, by the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ:

ласка вам і супакой няхай памножацца ў пазнаньні Бога і Ісуса, Госпада нашага.

Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord;

Як Боская моц Ягоная падаравала нам усё дзеля жыцьця і пабожнасьці, праз пазнаньне Таго, Хто паклікаў нас славаю і цнотаю,

seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.

праз якія падараваныя нам найвялікшыя і каштоўныя абяцаньні, каб праз іх сталіся вы супольнікамі Боскае прыроды, пазьбегнуўшы сапсутасьці ў пажаданьні, якое ў сьвеце,

For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.

дык вы, прыкладаючы да гэтага ўсякую дбайнасьць, зьявіце ў веры вашай цноту, а ў цноце — разуменьне,

Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge,

а ў разуменьні — стрыманасьць, а ў стрыманасьці — цярплівасьць, а ў цярплівасьці —пабожнасьць,

and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness,

а ў пабожнасьці — браталюбства, а ў браталюбстве — любоў.

and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love.

Калі гэтае ў вас ёсьць і памнажаецца, вы не застанецеся бязьдзейнымі і бясплоднымі ў пазнаньні Госпада нашага Ісуса Хрыста.

For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Бо хто ня мае гэтага, той сьляпы, невідушчы, забыўся, што атрымаў ачышчэньне даўнейшых сваіх грахоў.

For he who lacks these qualities is blind or short-sighted, having forgotten his purification from his former sins.

Дзеля гэтага, браты, яшчэ больш намагайцеся рабіць цьвёрдым вашае пакліканьне і выбраньне, бо гэтак робячы, ніколі не спатыкняцёся,

Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble;

бо гэтак шырока зьявіцца вам уваход у вечнае Валадарства Госпада нашага і Збаўцы Ісуса Хрыста.

for in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly supplied to you.

Дзеля гэтага я ня буду занядбоўваць заўсёды нагадваць вам пра гэтае, хоць вы і ведаеце гэта, і ўмацаваныя ў гэтай праўдзе.

Therefore, I will always be ready to remind you of these things, even though you already know them, and have been established in the truth which is present with you.

Справядлівым жа лічу, пакуль знаходжуся ў гэтай будыніне, пабуджаць вас нагадваньнем,

I consider it right, as long as I am in this earthly dwelling, to stir you up by way of reminder,

ведаючы, што хутка пакіну маю будыніну, як і Госпад наш Ісус Хрыстос мне паведаміў.

knowing that the laying aside of my earthly dwelling is imminent, as also our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me.

Але буду намагацца, каб вы і пасьля майго адыходу заўсёды ўспаміналі гэтае.

And I will also be diligent that at any time after my departure you will be able to call these things to mind.

Бо мы зрабілі вядомымі вам моц і прыйсьце Госпада нашага Ісуса Хрыста, не за мудрагелістымі байкамі ідучы сьледам, але быўшы відавочцамі велічы Ягонай,

For we did not follow cleverly devised tales when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of His majesty.

бо Ён прыняў ад Бога Айца пашану і славу, калі ад велічнае славы зыйшоў да Яго гэтакі голас: «Гэта ёсьць Сын Мой улюбёны, у Якім маю ўпадабаньне».

For when He received honor and glory from God the Father, such an utterance as this was made to Him by the Majestic Glory, “This is My beloved Son with whom I am well-pleased” —

І гэты голас, які зыходзіў з неба, мы чулі, быўшы з Ім на гары сьвятой.

and we ourselves heard this utterance made from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain.

І мы маем цьвёрдае прарочае слова, і вы добра робіце, што зважаеце на яго, як на сьветач, што сьвеціць у цёмным месцы, пакуль не пачне днець і ня ўзыйдзе зараніца ў сэрцах вашых,

So we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts.

разумеючы спачатку, што ніякае прароцтва з Пісаньня ня мае адвольнага тлумачэньня,

But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation,

бо ніколі прароцтва не прыносілася воляй чалавека, але гаварылі яго сьвятыя Божыя людзі, ведзеныя Духам Сьвятым.

for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
