Якаў, нявольнік Божы і Спадара Ісуса Хрыста, двананцацём плямёнам у расьцярушэньню,— здарованьне.

James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.

За ўсю радасьць майце, браты мае, як упадаеце ў розныя дазнаньні,

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

Ведаючы, што прабаваньне веры вашае вытварае цярплівосьць;

Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

А цярплівосьць няхай вырабляе дасканальнае дзеяньне, каб вы былі дасканальныя а супоўныя, бязь ніякае нястачы.

But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

Калі ж у каго з вас не стаець мудрасьці, няхай просе ў Бога, Каторы даець усім шчодра і ня ўпікае, — і дасца яму.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Але няхай просе зь вераю, ані не сумляючыся, бо хто сумляецца, тый падобны да морскае хвалі, ветрам узьніманай а разьвяванай.

But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

Дык няхай такая людзіна не гадае, што яна адзяржыць што-колечы ад Спадара.

For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

Людзіна з дваячнымі думкамі не кажначасная ў вусіх дарогах сваіх.

A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Няхай хваліцца брат паніжаны вывышэньням сваім,

Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted:

А багаты — паніжэньням сваім, бо ён мінець, як краса на траве.

But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.

Усходзе сонца з палючым вадам сваім, і трава ссохла, і краса ейная апала, і харашыня выгляду ейнага шчэзла; так і багаты зьвяне ў дарогах сваіх.

For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways.

Дабраславёная людзіна, каторая вытрывала дазнаньні, бо, будучы выпрабаваная, адзяржыць карону жыцьця, што Ён абяцаў тым, каторыя любяць Яго.

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

Няхай ніхто, прабаваны, ня кажа: «Я спакушаны Богам», бо Бог ня можа быць спакушаны ліхам, і Ён Сам нікога не спакушае,

Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

Але кажны спакушаецца собскімі жадлівасьцьмі сваімі, каторыя яго захапляюць а надзяць.

But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

Жадлівасьць жа, пачаўшы, родзе грэх; а супоўна разьвіты грэх прыводзе да сьмерці.

Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

Ня блудзіце, браты мае любовыя.

Do not err, my beloved brethren.

Кажнае добрае даньне і кажны дасканальны дар зыходзе з гары, ад Айца сьвятліні, у Каторага няма зьмены ані сьценю адвярненьня.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Подле собскае волі Свае зрадзіў Ён нас словам праўды, каб мы былі некатрым пачаткам стварэньняў Ягоных.

Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

Дык, браты мае любовыя, няхай кажная людзіна будзе борздая да слуханьня, памальная да гавары, памальная да гневу;

Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

Бо гнеў людзкі ня чыне справядлівасьці Божае.

For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.

Затым, адхінуўшы кажную бруду і збуялае сердаво, у лагоднасьці прыміце саджанае слова, каторае можа спасьці душы вашы.

Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

Але будзьце дзейнікамі Слова, а ня слухачымі толькі, што зводзяць самых сябе.

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

Бо слухачы Слова, а ня дзейнік, падобны да людзіны, што прыроджаныя рысы віду свайго разглядае ў глядзелцы;

For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:

Бо ён паглядзеў на сябе і адышоў, і якга забыўся, якоў ён.

For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

Бо хто ўцеміцца ў дасканальнае права, права свабоды, і трывае ў ім, будучы не забудзькам слухачым, але дзейнікам учынку, тый будзе дабраславёны ў вучынку сваім.

But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

Калі хто думае празь сябе, што ён набожны, ня кілзаючы языка свайго, але зводзячы сэрца свае, у тога набожнасьць пустая.

If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.

Чыстая а беззаганная набожнасьць перад Богам а Айцом ё гэта: давядацца сіротаў а ўдоваў у ватугах іхных, дзяржаць сябе незабрудзяненым ад сьвету.

Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
