Паўла, нявольнік Божы й апостал Ісуса Хрыста, подле веры абраных Божых і супоўнага знацьця праўды, каторая подле набожнасьці,

Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ to further the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness —

У надзеі жыцьця вечнага, Каторае Бог, што ня можа маніць, абяцаў перад вякамі часу,

in the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time,

А ў сваім часе зьявіў Слова Свае ў вагалашэньню, каторае даверана імне подле расказаньня Спаса нашага Бога,

and which now at his appointed season he has brought to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior,

Ціту, праўдзіваму дзяцяці подле супольнае веры: ласка а супакой ад Бога Айца а Хрыста Ісуса, Спаса нашага.

To Titus, my true son in our common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.

Дзеля таго я пакінуў цябе ў Крыце, каб ты мог балей упарадкаваць, што засталося неўпарадкаванае, і прызначыў старшых у кажным месьце, як я расказаў табе:

The reason I left you in Crete was that you might put in order what was left unfinished and appointa elders in every town, as I directed you.

Калі хто беззаганны, муж аднае жонкі, мае дзеці верныя, не вінаваныя ў бязулстве або ў непакоры.

An elder must be blameless, faithful to his wife, a man whose children believeb and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient.

Бо нагляднік мае быць беззаганны, як вернік Божы, не самадыйны, не гняўлівы, не адданы віну, ня бітун, не прагавіты на несправядлівыя прыбыткі,

Since an overseer manages God’s household, he must be blameless — not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain.

Але гасьцінны, любячы дабро, разумны, справядлівы, сьвяты, уздзержлівы,

Rather, he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined.

Каторы дзяржыцца вернага слова, як быў наўчаны, каб быў дуж захочаваць а навучаць здарова, пераконаваць праціўнікаў.

He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.

Бо ё шмат і непакорных, пустамлёнаў і ашуканцаў, асабліва з абразаньня,

For there are many rebellious people, full of meaningless talk and deception, especially those of the circumcision group.

Каторым надабе зачыніць рот, каторыя пераварачаюць цзлыя дамы, вучачы рэчаў дзеля нягоднага прыбытку, каторых ня надабе вучыць.

They must be silenced, because they are disrupting whole households by teaching things they ought not to teach — and that for the sake of dishonest gain.

Адзін ізь іх, собскі прарока іхны, сказаў: «Крытанцы заўсёды манюкі, благія дзікія зьвяры, жарлівыя, ляныя».

One of Crete’s own prophets has said it: “Cretans are always liars, evil brutes, lazy gluttons.”c

Сьветчаньне гэта праўдзівае, затым гань іх стродка, каб яны былі здаровыя ў веры,

This saying is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, so that they will be sound in the faith

Не ўважалі на жыдоўскія байкі і расказаньні людзёў, што перакручуюць праўду.

and will pay no attention to Jewish myths or to the merely human commands of those who reject the truth.

Усе чыстае чыстым; а забрудзяненым а няверным нічога няма чыстага, але розум і сумленьне іхнае забрудзяненыя.

To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted.

Яны вызнаюць, што знаюць Бога, але ўчынкамі выпіраюцца, будучы гідкія а непаслухменыя а няздольныя да ніякага добрага ўчынку.

They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.
