Паўла, вязень Хрыста Ісуса, а Цімох брат, Хілімону любоваму й супрацаўню нашаму

This letter is from Paul, a prisoner for preaching the Good News about Christ Jesus, and from our brother Timothy. I am writing to Philemon, our beloved co-worker,

А сястры Апфе а Архіпу, сябру-жаўнеру нашаму, а царкве, што ў доме ягоным:

and to our sister Apphia, and to our fellow soldier Archippus, and to the church that meets in youra house.

Ласка вам а супакой ад Бога, Айца нашага, а Спадара Ісуса Хыста.

May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace.

Дзякую Богу свайму, заўсёды мянуючы цябе ў малітвах сваіх,

I always thank my God when I pray for you, Philemon,

Чуючы празь міласьць а веру тваю, каторую маеш да Спадара Ісуса і да ўсіх сьвятых,

because I keep hearing about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all of God’s people.

Каб учасьце твае ў веры папрыяла ў супоўным пазнаньню кажнага добрага, каторае ёсьць у нас узглядам Хрыста.

And I am praying that you will put into action the generosity that comes from your faith as you understand and experience all the good things we have in Christ.

Бо мы маем вялікую радасьць а пацеху зь міласьці твае, бо табою, браце, пасілена сэрца сьвятых.

Your love has given me much joy and comfort, my brother, for your kindness has often refreshed the hearts of God’s people.

Затым, маючы вялікую ў Хрысту адвагу расказаваць табе, што належыцца,

That is why I am boldly asking a favor of you. I could demand it in the name of Christ because it is the right thing for you to do.

Зь міласьці я валей дужа прашу, будучы такі, як Паўла, стары, а цяпер і вязень Ісуса Хрыста;

But because of our love, I prefer simply to ask you. Consider this as a request from me — Paul, an old man and now also a prisoner for the sake of Christ Jesus.b

Дужа прашу цябе за дзяцё мае Анісіма, каторага я радзіў у зялезах сваіх.

I appeal to you to show kindness to my child, Onesimus. I became his father in the faith while here in prison.

(Ён быў калісь бескарысны табе, але цяпер карысны табе й імне),

Onesimusc hasn’t been of much use to you in the past, but now he is very useful to both of us.

Каторага я паслаў назад да цябе, ты ж прыймі яго, як мае сэрца.

I am sending him back to you, and with him comes my own heart.

Я зычыў дзяржаць яго пры сабе, каб ён мог замест цябе паслужыць імне ў зялезах дзеля Дабравесьці;

I wanted to keep him here with me while I am in these chains for preaching the Good News, and he would have helped me on your behalf.

Але бяз згоды твае нічога не хацеў рабіць, каб добры ўчынак твой быў ня высілены, а самахво-тны.

But I didn’t want to do anything without your consent. I wanted you to help because you were willing, not because you were forced.

Бо можа дзеля тога ён адхінуўся на час, каб ты меў яго супоўна на векі,

It seems you lost Onesimus for a little while so that you could have him back forever.

Ужо не як нявольніка, але вышэй за нявольніка, любовага брата, асабліва імне, і пагатове табе, і подле цела, і ў Спадару.

He is no longer like a slave to you. He is more than a slave, for he is a beloved brother, especially to me. Now he will mean much more to you, both as a man and as a brother in the Lord.

Дык, калі ты маеш мяне за сябру, прыймі яго, як мяне.

So if you consider me your partner, welcome him as you would welcome me.

Але калі ён цябе ўкрыўдзіў у чым або што вінен, лічы гэта зь мяне.

If he has wronged you in any way or owes you anything, charge it to me.

Я, Паўла, напісаў собскаю рукою сваёй: я заплачу; не кажу табе, што ты запраўды сябе самога імне вінен.

I, Paul, write this with my own hand: I will repay it. And I won’t mention that you owe me your very soul!

Але, браце, я хацеў бы мець карысьць ізь цябе ў Спадару, пасілі сэрца мае ў Хрысту.

Yes, my brother, please do me this favord for the Lord’s sake. Give me this encouragement in Christ.

Будучы пэўны паслухменства твайго, я напісаў табе, ведаючы, што ты зробіш і болей, чымся я кажу.

I am confident as I write this letter that you will do what I ask and even more!

Але заразом прыгатуй імне гасподу, бо я спадзяюся, што пераз малітвы вашы буду вам даны.

One more thing — please prepare a guest room for me, for I am hoping that God will answer your prayers and let me return to you soon.

Здаровае цябе Епафра, сувязень мой у Хрысту Ісусу,

Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ Jesus, sends you his greetings.

Марка, Арыстарх, Дзімас, Лука, супрацаўні мае.

So do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke, my co-workers.

Ласка Спадара нашага Ісуса Хрыста будзь із духам тваім.

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
