Якуб, раб Бога і Госпада Ісуса Хрыста, — дванаццацём родам, што расьцярушаны, — радавацца!

James, a bond-servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes who are dispersed abroad: Greetings.

Лічыце вялікай радасьцю, браты мае, калі трапляеце пад розныя спакушэньні,

Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials,

ведаючы, што выпрабава́ньне вашае веры вытварае цярплівасьць;

knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.

цярплівасьць жа хай мае поўнае дзе́яньне, каб вы былі бяззага́ннымі і даскана́лымі, бязь ніякае нястачы.

And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

Калі ж у каго з вас ня хапае мудрасьці, няхай просіць у Бога, Які дае ўсім проста і бяз папро́ку, і будзе яму да́дзена.

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

Але няхай просіць зь вераю, ані ня сумнява́ючыся, бо той, хто сумняваецца, падобны да марское хвалі, якую вецер уздымае і разьдзіма́е.

But he must ask in faith without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.

Дык няхай ня думае гэткі чалавек, што нешта дастане ад Госпада.

For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord,

Чалавек які сумняваецца няцьвёрды на ўсіх сваіх шляхох.

being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Няхай жа хва́ліцца брат паніжаны сваёй высокасьцяй,

But the brother of humble circumstances is to glory in his high position;

а багаты — паніжэньнем сваім, бо праміне, як кветка травы.

and the rich man is to glory in his humiliation, because like flowering grass he will pass away.

Бо ўзыйшло сонца са сьпёкай і высушыла траву, і кветка яе апа́ла, і вонкавае хараство яе счэзла; гэтак і багаты на шляхо́х сваіх засохне.

For the sun rises with a scorching wind and withers the grass; and its flower falls off and the beauty of its appearance is destroyed; so too the rich man in the midst of his pursuits will fade away.

Шчасьлівы чалавек, які выстаяў у спакусе, бо стануўшы выпрабаваным, ён атрымае вянок жыцьця, які абяцаў Госпад тым, хто любіць Яго.

Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

Будучы спакушаемым ніхто ня кажы: я спакуша́емы Богам, таму што Бог ня спакуша́ецца злом, і Ён ня спакушае нікога.

Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone.

А кожны спакушаецца, прываблены і захоплены ўласным пажаданьнем;

But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust.

а пасьля пажаданьне, зачаўшы, спараджае грэх; а зроблены грэх спараджае сьмерць.

Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death.

Ня абманавайцеся, браты мае любасныя.

Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.

Усякі дар добры і ўсякае даяньне дасканалае — зыходзіць з вышыні, ад Ба́цькі сьветлаў, у Якога няма ні зьмяненьня ні ценю паварота.

Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.

Захацеўшы, спарадзіў нас Словам Праўды, каб быць нам нейкім пачаткам тварэньняў Ягоных.

In the exercise of His will He brought us forth by the word of truth, so that we would be a kind of first fruits among His creatures.

Дык вось, браты мае любасныя, усякі чалавек няхай будзе хуткі выслухаць, павольны сказаць, павольны на гнеў.

This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger;

Бо гнеў чалавека ня творыць Праўды Бога.

for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God.

Пагэтаму адклаўшы ўсякі бруд і лíшак злосьці ў пакоры прымеце наса́джанае Слова, што душы вашыя збавіць можа.

Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls.

Будзьце ж выпаўніцелямі Слова, а ня слухача́мі толькі, ашукваючымі самых сябе.

But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves.

Бо хто слухае Слова і ня выпаўняе, той падобны да чалавека, які разглядае ў люстэрку рысы твару свайго:

For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror;

бо (ён) разглядзеў сябе ды ўраз (жа) забыўся, які ён.

for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was.

Але хто ўглыбіўся ў дасканалы Закон свабоды і застаўся (у ім), той, стаўшыся ня слухачом забываючымся, але выканаўцам справы, той шчасьлівы будзе ў дзеяньні сваім.

But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does.

Калі хто сярод вас мяркуе лічыцца багабойным, ня закелзываючы языка свайго, але абманаваючы сэрца сваё, у таго багабойнасьць пустая.

If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless.

Чыстая і бяззаганная багабойнасьць перад Богам і Ба́цькам ёсьць гэта: клапаціцца пра сірот і ўдоваў у горы іхным і берагчы сябе няапаганеным ад сьвету.

Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.
