Павал, раб Бога і Апостал Ісуса Хрыста, па веры і пазнаньню праўды і адносна багабойнасьці — належу да выбраных Богам,

Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ to further the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness —

дзеля надзеі на жыцьцё вечнае, якое паабяцаў праўдзівы Бог спрадвеку;

in the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time,

а ў Свой час зьявіў Слова Сваё ў пропаведзі, якая была даверана мне па загаду Збавіцеля нашага Бога, —

and which now at his appointed season he has brought to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior,

Ціту, сапраўднаму сыну ў супольнай веры: Багадаць, міласэрнасьць, Мір ад Бога Бацькі і Госпада Ісуса Хрыста, Збавіцеля нашага.

To Titus, my true son in our common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior.

Дзеля таго я пакінуў цябе на Крыце, каб ты ўпара́дкаваў тое, што яшчэ няўпара́дкаванае, і паставіў па (усіх) местах ста́ршых, як я табе загадаў:

The reason I left you in Crete was that you might put in order what was left unfinished and appointa elders in every town, as I directed you.

калі хто бяззаганны, адзінай жонкі муж, які дзяцей мае веручых, якія ня абвінавачваюцца ў распусьце альбо няпаслухмянасьці.

An elder must be blameless, faithful to his wife, a man whose children believeb and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient.

Бо япіскап павінен быць бяззаганным, як Божы домакіраўнік: ня хванабэрыстым, ня гняўлівым, ня п’яніцай, ня задзірлівым, ня сквапным да нажывы,

Since an overseer manages God’s household, he must be blameless — not overbearing, not quick-tempered, not given to drunkenness, not violent, not pursuing dishonest gain.

але гасьцінным, які любіць дабро, разважным, справядлівым, багабойным, устрымлівым,

Rather, he must be hospitable, one who loves what is good, who is self-controlled, upright, holy and disciplined.

які прытрымліваецца вучэньня вернага слова, каб ён быў дуж і настаўляць у здаровым вучэньні і супраціўцаў дакараць.

He must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.

Бо ёсьць шмат і няпакорлівых, пустасловаў і ашуканцаў, асабліва з абрэзаных,

For there are many rebellious people, full of meaningless talk and deception, especially those of the circumcision group.

якім трэба закрываць рот: яны цэлыя дамы разбураюць, навучаючы, чаму ня сьлед дзеля ганебнай карысьлівасьці.

They must be silenced, because they are disrupting whole households by teaching things they ought not to teach — and that for the sake of dishonest gain.

Сказаў жа нехта зь іх самых, іхны прарок: «крыцяне — заўсёды ілгуны, лютыя зьвяры, лянівыя вантробы».

One of Crete’s own prophets has said it: “Cretans are always liars, evil brutes, lazy gluttons.”c

Сьведчаньне гэтае праўдзівае. Дзеля гэтага дакарай іх строга, каб яны былí здаровымі ў веры,

This saying is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, so that they will be sound in the faith

ня зважаючы на жыдоўскія байкі і прыказаньні чалавекаў, што адварочваюцца ад праўды.

and will pay no attention to Jewish myths or to the merely human commands of those who reject the truth.

Для чыстых усё чыстае, а для няверучых нішто ня чыстае, але апаганены іхны розум і сумленьне.

To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted.

Яны кажуць, што ведаюць Бога, а ўчынкамі выракаюцца, будучы абрыднымі і няпакорлівымі і ня здатныя ні на які добры ўчынак.

They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good.
