Аб Тым, Хто быў ад пачатку, Каго мы чулі, Каго ба́чылі сваімі вачыма, да Каго прыглядаліся і да Каго датыкаліся рукі нашыя, аб Слову Жыцьця,

We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning,a whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life.

і Жыцьцё быў зьяўлены, і мы бачылі, і мы сьведчым, і мы абвяшчаем вам Гэтага Жыцьцё Ве́чнага, Які быў у Ба́цькі і зьяўлены нам.

This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life. He was with the Father, and then he was revealed to us.

Каго мы ба́чылі і чулі абвяшчаем вам, каб і вы мелі лучнасьць з намі, а наша ж лучнасьць — з Ба́цькам і з Сынам Ягоным, Ісусам Хрыстом.

We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.

І гэтае пішам вам, каб радасьць наша была поўная.

We are writing these things so that you may fully share our joy.b

І гэткае ёсьць абвяшчэньне, якое мы чулі ад Яго і абвяшчаем вам: Бог ёсьць Сьвятло, і няма ў Ім ніякае цемры.

This is the message we heard from Jesusc and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.

Калі скажам, што маем лучнасьць зь Ім, а ходзім у цемры, дык ма́нім і ня чынім праўды.

So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth.

А калі ходзім у сьвятле, падобна як Ён ёсьць у сьвятле, дык маем лучнасьць між сабою, і Кроў Ісуса Хрыста, Сына Ягонага, ачышчае нас ад усякага грэху.

But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

Калі, ска́жам, што ня маем грэху, ашукваем самых сябе, і няма ў нас праўды

If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth.

Калі вызнаём грахі нашыя, (дык) Ён — верны і праведны, каб дараваць нам грахі (нашыя) і ачысьціць нас ад усякае няправеднасьці.

But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

Калі ска́жам, што мы ня саграшылі, (дык) робім Яго ілгуном, і Слова Ягонага няма ў нас.

If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.
