Сімон Пётра, паслугач і Апостал Ісуса Хрыста, тым, што ў справядлівасці Бога нашага і Збаўцы Ісуса Хрыста атрымалі з намі аднолькава дарагую веру:

This letter is from Simona Peter, a slave and apostle of Jesus Christ. I am writing to you who share the same precious faith we have. This faith was given to you because of the justice and fairnessb of Jesus Christ, our God and Savior.

ласка вам і супакой хай памножацца праз пазнанне Бога і Ісуса, Госпада нашага.

May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord.

Паколькі ўсё нам — ад Боскае магутнасці Яго, падараванай для жыцця і пабожнасці праз пазнанне Таго, Хто паклікаў нас Сваёю славай і дабрадзейнасцю,

By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.

праз якія падараваў Ён нам дарагія і вялікія абяцанні, каб праз іх сталіся вы ўдзельнікамі Божае прыроды, усцярогшыся псавання ад пажадлівасці, якая ў свеце,

And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.

то менавіта дзеля гэтага старайцеся з усіх сіл, каб у сваёй веры паказаць дабрадзейнасць сваю, а ў дабрадзейнасці веданне,

In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge,

а ў веданні паўстрыманасць, а ў паўстрыманасці цярплівасць, а ў цярплівасці пабожнасць,

and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness,

а ў пабожнасці браталюбства, а ў браталюбстве любоў.

and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.

Калі гэта ў вас жыве і памнажаецца, то яно не пакіне вас пустымі і бясплоднымі ў пазнанні Госпада нашага Ісуса Хрыста.

The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

А ў каго гэтага няма, той сляпы і блізарукі, які забыўся аб ачышчэнні ад ранейшых сваіх грахоў.

But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins.

Дык тым больш, браты, старайцеся ўгрунтаваць сваё пакліканне і выбранне. Гэтак бо робячы, ніколі не спатыкнецеся.

So, dear brothers and sisters,c work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Do these things, and you will never fall away.

Бо гэтак яшчэ шырэй адчыніцца вам уваход у вечнае Валадарства Госпада нашага і Збаўцы Ісуса Хрыста.

Then God will give you a grand entrance into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Таму я буду вам заўсёды прыгадваць гэта, хоць вы ведаеце і ўмацаваны ў цяперашняй праўдзе.

Therefore, I will always remind you about these things — even though you already know them and are standing firm in the truth you have been taught.

Я лічу за справядлівасць, пакуль знаходжуся ў гэтай цялеснай палатцы, падбадзёрыць вас напамінам,

And it is only right that I should keep on reminding you as long as I live.d

бо ведаю, што хутка пакіну гэтую палатку маю, як Госпад наш Ісус Хрыстос вызначыў мне.

For our Lord Jesus Christ has shown me that I must soon leave this earthly life,e

Буду прыкладаць намаганні, каб вы заўсёды і па маім адыходзе пра гэта ўспаміналі.

so I will work hard to make sure you always remember these things after I am gone.

Бо мы вясцілі вам магутнасць і прыход Госпада нашага Ісуса Хрыста, не ідучы следам за прыдуманымі казкамі, але як сведкі, што бачылі Яго веліч.

For we were not making up clever stories when we told you about the powerful coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We saw his majestic splendor with our own eyes

Бо атрымаў Ён ад Бога Айца гонар і славу, калі вось такім чынам прагучаў да Яго голас ад велічнай славы: «Гэта Сын Мой улюбёны, у Якім Я маю ўпадабанне».

when he received honor and glory from God the Father. The voice from the majestic glory of God said to him, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.”f

І мы чулі, як гэты голас зыходзіў з неба, калі мы з Ім разам былі на святой гары.

We ourselves heard that voice from heaven when we were with him on the holy mountain.

Прытым мы маем найпэўнейшае прарочае слова, і вы добра робіце, трымаючыся яго, як светача, які свеціць у цёмным месцы аж пакуль развіднее, і зорка ранняя ўзыдзе ў сэрцах вашых.

Because of that experience, we have even greater confidence in the message proclaimed by the prophets. You must pay close attention to what they wrote, for their words are like a lamp shining in a dark place — until the Day dawns, and Christ the Morning Star shinesg in your hearts.

Гэта перш за ўсе майце на ўвазе, што ніводнае прароцтва Пісання нельга вытлумачыць самавольна.

Above all, you must realize that no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet’s own understanding,h

Бо не паводле волі чалавечай было калісьці абвешчана прароцтва, але прамовілі яго святыя людзі Божыя, кіраваныя Духам Святым.

or from human initiative. No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God.
