Первую книгу, Феофил, составил я о всём, что с самого начала делал и чему учил Иисус,

I composed the first discourse, O Theophilus, concerning all things which Jesus began both to do and to teach,

до того дня, когда Он был вознесён, дав Духом Святым повеления апостолам, которых Он избрал,

until that day in which, having by the Holy Spirit charged the apostles whom he had chosen, he was taken up;

которым Он и показал Себя живым, по страдании Своем, со многими доказательствами, сорок дней являясь им и говоря о Царстве Божием.

to whom also he presented himself living, after he had suffered, with many proofs; being seen by them during forty days, and speaking of the things which concern the kingdom of God;

И, за трапезою, Он повелел им не отлучаться из Иерусалима, но ждать обещанного Отцом: о чем вы слышали от Меня.

and, being assembled with [them], commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to await the promise of the Father, which [said he] ye have heard of me.

Ибо Иоанн крестил водою, вы же будете крещены Духом Святым, по истечении немногих этих дней.

For John indeed baptised with water, but ye shall be baptised with the Holy Spirit after now not many days.

Итак, собравшись вместе, они спрашивали Его: Господи, не в это ли время восстанавливаешь Ты Царство Израилю?

They therefore, being come together, asked him saying, Lord, is it at this time that thou restorest the kingdom to Israel?

И Он сказал им: не вам знать времена и сроки, которые Отец установил Своею властью.

And he said to them, It is not yours to know times or seasons, which the Father has placed in his own authority;

Но вы примете силу, когда найдет Святой Дух на вас, и вы будете Моими свидетелями и в Иерусалиме, и во всей Иудее и Самарии, и до предела земли.

but ye will receive power, the Holy Spirit having come upon you, and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

И сказав это — пока они смотрели — Он был поднят, и облако скрыло Его из глаз их.

And having said these things he was taken up, they beholding [him], and a cloud received him out of their sight.

И как взоры их были устремлены к небу, во время Его отшествия, вот два мужа предстали им в одеяниях белых,

And as they were gazing into heaven, as he was going, behold, also two men stood by them in white clothing,

и сказали: мужи Галилейские, что вы стоите, глядя на небо? Этот Иисус, вознесённый от вас на небо, придет таким же образом, как вы видели Его отходящим на небо.

who also said, Men of Galilee, why do ye stand looking into heaven? This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven, shall thus come in the manner in which ye have beheld him going into heaven.

Тогда возвратились они в Иерусалим с горы, называемой Елеон, которая находится близ Иерусалима в расстоянии субботнего пути.

Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called [the mount] of Olives, which is near Jerusalem, a sabbath-day's journey off.

И когда они вошли, то поднялись в горницу, где пребывали, как Петр так и Иоанн, и Иаков и Андрей, Филипп и Фома, Варфоломей и Матфей, Иаков Алфеев и Симон Зилот, и Иуда Иаковлев.

And when they were come into [the city], they went up to the upper chamber, where were staying both Peter, and John, and James, and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James [son] of Alphaeus, and Simon the zealot, and Jude [the brother] of James.

Все они были единодушны в постоянной молитве с женщинами и с Мариам, Матерью Иисуса, и с братьями Его.

These gave themselves all with one accord to continual prayer, with [several] women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

В эти дни, встав посреди братьев, Петр сказал (а собравшихся в большом числе было около ста двадцати человек):

And in those days Peter, standing up in the midst of the brethren, said, (the crowd of names [who were] together [was] about a hundred and twenty,)

Мужи братья, надлежало исполниться Писанию, в котором Дух Святой предсказал устами Давида об Иуде, ставшем проводником для взявших Иисуса,

Brethren, it was necessary that the scripture should have been fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before, by the mouth of David, concerning Judas, who became guide to those who took Jesus;

потому что он был сопричислен к нам и получил жребий этого служения.

for he was numbered amongst us, and had received a part in this service.

(Он приобрел землю из цены злодеяния и, упав головой вниз, расселся, и выпали все внутренности его.

(This [man] then indeed got a field with [the] reward of iniquity, and, having fallen down headlong, burst in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.

И стало это известным всем живущим в Иерусалиме, так что земля та названа на их собственном наречии Акелдама, то есть земля крови).

And it was known to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that that field was called in their own dialect Aceldama; that is, field of blood.)

Ибо написано в книге Псалмов: «Да будет двор его пуст, и да не будет живущего в нем», и: «должность его да примет иной».

For it is written in [the] book of Psalms, Let his homestead become desolate, and let there be no dweller in it; and, Let another take his overseership.

Итак, надлежит, чтобы один из мужей, вместе с нами ходивших всё то время, когда жил среди нас Господь Иисус,

It is necessary therefore, that of the men who have assembled with us all [the] time in which the Lord Jesus came in and went out among us,

начиная от крещения Иоаннова до того дня, когда Он был вознесён от нас, — стал вместе с нами свидетелем воскресения Его.

beginning from the baptism of John until the day in which he was taken up from us, one of these should be a witness with us of his resurrection.

И поставили двоих: Иосифа, называемого Варсавой, который был прозван Иустом, и Матфия.

And they appointed two, Joseph, who was called Barsabas, who had been surnamed Justus, and Matthias.

И помолились и сказали: Ты, Господи, Сердцеведец всех, покажи, кого Ты избрал, из этих двух одного,

And they prayed, and said, Thou Lord, knower of the hearts of all, shew which one of these two thou hast chosen,

принять место этого служения и апостольства, от которого отпал Иуда, чтобы пойти в свое место.

to receive the lot of this service and apostleship, from which Judas transgressing fell to go to his own place.

И дали им жребии. И пал жребий на Матфия, и он был сопричислен к одиннадцати апостолам.

And they gave lots on them, and the lot fell on Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
