Paul, [a] called apostle of Jesus Christ, by God's will, and Sosthenes the brother,

Павел, волею Божией призванный апостол Иисуса Христа, и Сосфен, брат, —

to the assembly of God which is in Corinth, to [those] sanctified in Christ Jesus, called saints, with all that in every place call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both theirs and ours:

церкви Божией, находящейся в Коринфе, освященным во Христе Иисусе, призванным святым, со всеми призывающими имя Господа нашего Иисуса Христа во всяком месте — у них и у нас, —

Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and [the] Lord Jesus Christ.

благодать вам и мир от Бога, Отца нашего, и Господа Иисуса Христа.

I thank my God always about you, in respect of the grace of God given to you in Christ Jesus;

Непрестанно благодарю Бога моего за вас, ради благодати Божией, дарованной вам во Христе Иисусе,

that in everything ye have been enriched in him, in all word [of doctrine], and all knowledge,

потому что в Нем вы обогатились всем, всяким словом и всяким познанием, —

(according as the testimony of the Christ has been confirmed in you,)

ибо свидетельство Христово утвердилось в вас, —

so that ye come short in no gift, awaiting the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ;

так что вы не имеете недостатка ни в каком даровании, ожидая явления Господа нашего Иисуса Христа,

who shall also confirm you to [the] end, unimpeachable in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Который и утвердит вас до конца, чтобы вам быть неповинными в день Господа нашего Иисуса Христа.

God [is] faithful, by whom ye have been called into [the] fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

Верен Бог, Которым вы призваны в общение Сына Его Иисуса Христа, Господа нашего.

Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all say the same thing, and that there be not among you divisions; but that ye be perfectly united in the same mind and in the same opinion.

Умоляю вас, братья, именем Господа нашего Иисуса Христа, чтобы все вы говорили одно, и не было между вами разделений, но чтобы вы соединены были в одном духе и в одних мыслях.

For it has been shewn to me concerning you, my brethren, by those of [the house of] Chloe, that there are strifes among you.

Ибо от домашних Хлои сделалось мне известно о вас, братья мои, что между вами есть споры.

But I speak of this, that each of you says, I am of Paul, and I of Apollos, and I of Cephas, and I of Christ.

Я разумею то, что у вас говорят: «Я Павлов», «Я Аполлосов», «Я Кифин», «А я Христов».

Is the Christ divided? has Paul been crucified for you? or have ye been baptised unto the name of Paul?

Разве разделился Христос? Разве Павел был распят за вас? Или во имя Павла вы крестились?

I thank God that I have baptised none of you, unless Crispus and Gaius,

Благодарю Бога, что я никого из вас не крестил, кроме Криспа и Гаия,

that no one may say that I have baptised unto my own name.

дабы не сказал кто, что я крестил в мое имя.

Yes, I baptised also the house of Stephanas; for the rest I know not if I have baptised any other.

Крестил я также Стефанов дом; а крестил ли еще кого, не знаю.

For Christ has not sent me to baptise, but to preach glad tidings; not in wisdom of word, that the cross of the Christ may not be made vain.

Ибо Христос послал меня не крестить, а благовествовать, не в премудрости слова, чтобы не упразднить креста Христова.

For the word of the cross is to them that perish foolishness, but to us that are saved it is God's power.

Ибо слово о кресте для погибающих юродство есть, а для нас, спасаемых, — сила Божия.

For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and set aside the understanding of the understanding ones.

Ибо написано: «Погублю мудрость мудрецов и разум разумных отвергну».

Where [is the] wise? where scribe? where disputer of this world? has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

Где мудрец? Где книжник? Где совопросник века сего? Не обратил ли Бог мудрость мира сего в безумие?

For since, in the wisdom of God, the world by wisdom has not known God, God has been pleased by the foolishness of the preaching to save those that believe.

Ибо когда мир своей мудростью не познал Бога в премудрости Божией, то благоугодно было Богу юродством проповеди спасти верующих.

Since Jews indeed ask for signs, and Greeks seek wisdom;

Ибо и иудеи требуют чудес, и эллины ищут мудрости;

but we preach Christ crucified, to Jews an offence, and to nations foolishness;

а мы проповедуем Христа распятого — для иудеев соблазн, а для эллинов безумие,

but to those that [are] called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ God's power and God's wisdom.

для самих же призванных, иудеев и эллинов, Христа, Божию силу и Божию премудрость;

Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

потому что немудрое Божие премудрее людей, и немощное Божие сильнее людей.

For consider your calling, brethren, that [there are] not many wise according to flesh, not many powerful, not many high-born.

Посмотрите, братья, кто вы, призванные: не много из вас мудрых по плоти, не много сильных, не много благородных.

But God has chosen the foolish things of the world, that he may put to shame the wise; and God has chosen the weak things of the world, that he may put to shame the strong things;

Но Бог избрал немудрое мира, чтобы посрамить мудрых, и немощное мира избрал Бог, чтобы посрамить сильное;

and the ignoble things of the world, and the despised, has God chosen, [and] things that are not, that he may annul the things that are;

и незнатное мира, и униженное, и ничего не значащее избрал Бог, чтобы упразднить значащее, —

so that no flesh should boast before God.

для того, чтобы никакая плоть не хвалилась пред Богом.

But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who has been made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness, and holiness, and redemption;

От Него и вы во Христе Иисусе, Который сделался для нас премудростью от Бога, праведностью, и освящением, и искуплением,

that according as it is written, He that boasts, let him boast in [the] Lord.

чтобы было, как написано: «Хвалящийся хвались Господом».
