Второе соборное послание святого апостола Иоанна

Я, старейшина — пишу избранной Госпоже и ее детям, которых я поистине люблю, и не только я, но и все, кто познал истину.

The elder unto the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all they that have known the truth;

Эта истина пребывает среди нас и останется с нами навек.

For the truth's sake, which dwelleth in us, and shall be with us for ever.

Да будут с нами благодать, милость, мир от Бога Отца и от Иисуса Христа, Отчего Сына — в истине и любви.

Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

Как обрадовался я, найдя среди твоих детей тех, кто поступает по истине! Такую заповедь и получили мы от Отца.

I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.

И теперь прошу тебя, госпожа: будем любить друг друга! Пишу это для тебя не как новую заповедь, а как ту, которая была у нас с самого начала.

And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.

И любовь — в том, чтобы мы поступали по заповедям Его. Именно эту заповедь слышали вы с самого начала — по ней и поступайте.

And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.

Да, многие обманщики покинули нас ради этого мира — они не признали Иисуса Христа, пришедшего в человеческом теле. Вот каков обманщик и антихрист!

For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

Сами следите за собой, чтобы не погубить заработанного нами, но получить плату сполна.

Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.

Всякий, кто рвется занять первое место, но не придерживается учения Христова, чужд Богу — а кто придерживается учения, тот и с Отцом, и с Сыном.

Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

Если кто приходит к вам, но учит по-другому, не пускайте его в дом и не приветствуйте.

If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:

Ведь кто приветствует такого человека, приобщается к его делам, а они порочны.

For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

Я много мог бы вам сказать, но не хочу обходиться бумагой и чернилами — надеюсь скоро оказаться у вас и поговорить лицом к лицу, и тогда наша радость обретет полноту.

Having many things to write unto you, I would not write with paper and ink: but I trust to come unto you, and speak face to face, that our joy may be full.

Приветствуют тебя дети избранной твоей сестры.

The children of thy elect sister greet thee. Amen.
