Первое соборное послание святого апостола Иоанна

Что было с самого начала — то мы слышали, своими глазами видели, наблюдали и своими руками осязали, и потому возвещаем Слово Жизни.

We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning,a whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life.

Эта Жизнь была нам явлена, мы видели ее и свидетельствуем о ней. Мы возвещаем вам вечную Жизнь, ту, которая была у Отца и явилась нам —

This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life. He was with the Father, and then he was revealed to us.

мы видели Ее и слышали, и возвещаем о том вам, чтобы и вы вместе с нами стали ей причастны. А мы причастны Отцу и с Ним Его Сыну Иисусу Христу.

We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.

И об этом мы пишем вам, чтобы наша радость обрела полноту.

We are writing these things so that you may fully share our joy.b

Вот какую весть услышали мы от Него и передаем теперь вам: Бог есть свет, и тьмы в Нем нет никакой.

This is the message we heard from Jesusc and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.

И если мы скажем, что причастны Ему, а сами будем ходить во тьме — это будет означать, что мы лжем и не творим истины.

So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth.

Если же мы ходим во свете (как Он — во свете), то едины друг с другом, и кровь Его Сына Иисуса очищает нас от всякого греха.

But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

А если мы скажем, что нет в нас греха, то обманываем сами себя и нет в нас истины.

If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth.

Но если признаем наши грехи — Он может отпустить их и очистить нас от всякой неправды, ведь Он верен и праведен.

But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

А если мы скажем, что не согрешали, то выставляем Его лжецом, и нет в нас Его слова.

If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.
