Послание к Галатам святого апостола Павла

Я, Павел, стал апостолом не по выбору людей и не по их воле, но по воле Иисуса Христа и Бога Отца, Который Его воскресил из мертвых.

This letter is from Paul, an apostle. I was not appointed by any group of people or any human authority, but by Jesus Christ himself and by God the Father, who raised Jesus from the dead.

Вместе со всеми братьями говорю церквам Галатии:

All the brothers and sistersa here join me in sending this letter to the churches of Galatia.

благодать вам и мир от Бога Отца нашего и Господа Иисуса Христа,

May God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christb give you grace and peace.

Который отдал жизнь во искупление наших грехов, чтобы избавить нас от нынешнего порочного мира. Такова воля Бога и Отца нашего —

Jesus gave his life for our sins, just as God our Father planned, in order to rescue us from this evil world in which we live.

Ему слава во веки веков, аминь.

All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.

Христос призвал вас Своей благодатью, но вы, к моему удивлению, так скоро покидаете Его ради иного «евангелия».

I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who called you to himself through the loving mercy of Christ.c You are following a different way that pretends to be the Good News

А впрочем, иного нет — есть только люди, которые смущают вас, стремясь извратить Христово Евангелие.

but is not the Good News at all. You are being fooled by those who deliberately twist the truth concerning Christ.

Но если бы мы сами или даже ангел с неба стал возвещать вам иное «евангелие», чем возвестили мы прежде — ответом пусть будет анафема.

Let God’s curse fall on anyone, including us or even an angel from heaven, who preaches a different kind of Good News than the one we preached to you.

Мы это уже говорили, и снова повторю: если кто будет возвещать вам не то Евангелие, которое вы приняли, тому — анафема!

I say again what we have said before: If anyone preaches any other Good News than the one you welcomed, let that person be cursed.

У кого я ищу одобрения — у людей или у Бога? Может, стремлюсь понравиться людям? Если бы я стремился понравиться людям, то не был бы рабом Христовым.

Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.

Хочу, чтобы вы знали, братья: Евангелие, которое я возвестил — не человеческое изобретение.

Dear brothers and sisters, I want you to understand that the gospel message I preach is not based on mere human reasoning.

Не человек мне его передал, не человек ему научил — его мне открыл Иисус Христос.

I received my message from no human source, and no one taught me. Instead, I received it by direct revelation from Jesus Christ.d

Вы же слышали, как я следовал иудейской религии, когда изо всех сил гнал и губил церковь Божью.

You know what I was like when I followed the Jewish religion — how I violently persecuted God’s church. I did my best to destroy it.

Что до иудейской религии — в ней я усердствовал больше многих сверстников и соплеменников, следовал отеческим своим преданиям с чрезмерной ревностью.

I was far ahead of my fellow Jews in my zeal for the traditions of my ancestors.

Но Бог избрал меня от чрева матери и призвал Своей благодатью. По Своей благой воле

But even before I was born, God chose me and called me by his marvelous grace. Then it pleased him

Он открыл мне Своего Сына, чтобы я возвещал Его Евангелие среди народов, и я не стал тогда советоваться со смертными людьми.

to reveal his Son to mee so that I would proclaim the Good News about Jesus to the Gentiles. When this happened, I did not rush out to consult with any human being.f

Я не пошел в Иерусалим к тем, кто стал апостолами прежде меня, но отправился в Аравию и затем возвратился в Дамаск.

Nor did I go up to Jerusalem to consult with those who were apostles before I was. Instead, I went away into Arabia, and later I returned to the city of Damascus.

Потом, спустя три года, я пошел в Иерусалим познакомиться с Петром и пробыл у него дней пятнадцать.

Then three years later I went to Jerusalem to get to know Peter,g and I stayed with him for fifteen days.

Никого другого из апостолов я не видел, разве только Иакова, брата Господня.

The only other apostle I met at that time was James, the Lord’s brother.

И в том, что я вам пишу, Бог свидетель, нет обмана.

I declare before God that what I am writing to you is not a lie.

Затем я отправился в провинции Сирию и Киликию,

After that visit I went north into the provinces of Syria and Cilicia.

а в Христовых церквях Иудеи лично меня не знали.

And still the churches in Christ that are in Judea didn’t know me personally.

Они только слышали: тот, кто прежде их гнал и губил евангельскую веру, теперь ее проповедует —

All they knew was that people were saying, “The one who used to persecute us is now preaching the very faith he tried to destroy!”

и за меня прославляли Бога.

And they praised God because of me.
