Paulus und Silvanusⓐ und Timotheusⓑ der Gemeinde[1] der Thessalonicherⓒ in Gott, dem Vater, und dem Herrn Jesus Christusⓓ: Gnade euch und Friedeⓔ!

Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Wir danken Gott allezeit für euch alle, indem wir euch erwähnen in unseren Gebetenⓕ und unablässig

We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;

vor unserem Gott und Vater an euer Werk des Glaubensⓖ gedenken und die Bemühung der Liebeⓗ und das Ausharren ‹in› der Hoffnung auf unsern Herrn Jesus Christus[2]ⓘ;

Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;

und wir kennen, von Gott geliebte Brüder, eure Auserwählungⓙ;

Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God.

denn unser Evangelium erging an euch nicht im Wort allein, sondern auch in Kraftⓚ und im Heiligen Geistⓛ und in großer Gewissheitⓜ; ihr wisst ja, als was für Leute wir um euretwillen unter euch auftratenⓝ.

For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

Und ihr seid unsere Nachahmerⓞ geworden und die des Herrnⓟ, indem ihr das Wort in viel Bedrängnisⓠ mit Freude des Heiligen Geistes aufgenommen habtⓡ,

And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:

so dass ihr allen Gläubigen in Mazedonien und in Achaja zu Vorbildern geworden seid.

So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.

Denn von euch aus ist das Wort des Herrn erschollen, nicht allein in Mazedonien und in Achaja, sondern an jeden Ort ist euer Glaube an Gott hinausgedrungenⓢ, so dass wir nicht nötig haben, etwas zu sagen.

For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.

Denn sie selbst erzählen von uns, welchen Eingang wir bei euch hattenⓣ und wie ihr euch von den Götzenⓤ zu Gott bekehrt habtⓥ, dem[3] lebendigen und wahren Gott zu dienen[4]ⓦ

For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;

und seinen Sohn aus den Himmeln zu erwartenⓧ, den er aus den Toten auferweckt hatⓨ — Jesusⓩ, der uns rettet von dem kommenden Zornⓐ.

And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
