От Старца. Кому: избранной госпоже и её детям, которых я поистине люблю — и не только я, но и все, кто познал истину —

The elder to the chosen lady and her children, whom I love in truth; and not only I, but also all who know the truth,

ради истины, с которой мы едины и которая навеки пребудет с нами:

for the sake of the truth which abides in us and will be with us forever:

Да пребудут с нами в истине и любви благодать, милость и мир от Бога Отца и от Мессии Иисуса, Отчего Сына.

Grace, mercy and peace will be with us, from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

Я был очень рад, когда обнаружил, что некоторые из твоих детей живут в истине, как это заповедано нам Отцом.

I was very glad to find some of your children walking in truth, just as we have received commandment to do from the Father.

Теперь же, дорогая госпожа, я прошу, чтобы мы любили друг друга — и я пишу это не как новую заповедь, но это та [заповедь], что была у нас с самого начала.

Now I ask you, lady, not as though I were writing to you a new commandment, but the one which we have had from the beginning, that we love one another.

Любовь же состоит вот в чем: мы должны жить в соответствии с Его заповедями. Вот эта заповедь, которую вы слышали с самого начала; живите ею!

And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it.

Так как в мир вошло много обманщиков, которые не признают пришествия Мессии Иисуса в теле. Говорящий подобное — обманщик и антимессия.

For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the antichrist.

Наблюдайте за собой, чтобы вам не утратить того, ради чего вы трудились, но получить полное вознаграждение.

Watch yourselves, that you do not lose what we have accomplished, but that you may receive a full reward.

Всякий, кто не придерживается того, чему учил Мессия, не имеет Бога. Те же, кто придерживаются его учения, имеют и Отца, и Сына.

Anyone who goes too far and does not abide in the teaching of Christ, does not have God; the one who abides in the teaching, he has both the Father and the Son.

Если к тебе приходит кто-либо и не приносит этого учения, не принимай его у себя дома. Не говори ему даже: "Мир тебе!";

If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house, and do not give him a greeting;

так как тот, кто говорит ему: "Мир Тебе!", участвует в его злых делах.

for the one who gives him a greeting participates in his evil deeds.

Хотя я о многом хочу написать вам, лучше не буду делать этого при помощи бумаги и чернил. Надеюсь, что приду и увижу вас и поговорю с вами лицом к лицу, чтобы радость наша была совершенной.

Though I have many things to write to you, I do not want to do so with paper and ink; but I hope to come to you and speak face to face, so that your joy may be made full.

Дети твоей избранной сестры передают тебе приветствия.

The children of your chosen sister greet you.
