In the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth day of the month, as I was among the exiles by the Chebar canal, the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.a

И было в тридцатый год, в четвертый месяц, в пятый день месяца, когда я находился среди переселенцев при реке Ховар: отверзлись небеса, и я видел видения Божии.

On the fifth day of the month (it was the fifth year of the exile of King Jehoiachin),

В пятый день месяца — это был пятый год от пленения царя Иоакима —

the word of the Lord came to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the Chebar canal, and the hand of the Lord was upon him there.

было слово Господа к Иезекиилю, сыну Вузия, священнику, в земле халдейской, при реке Ховар; и была на нем там рука Господня.

As I looked, behold, a stormy wind came out of the north, and a great cloud, with brightness around it, and fire flashing forth continually, and in the midst of the fire, as it were gleaming metal.b

И я видел: и вот, бурный ветер шел от севера, великое облако и клубящийся огонь, и сияние вокруг него,

And from the midst of it came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance: they had a human likeness,

а из середины его — как бы свет пламени из середины огня. И в середине его видны были четыре живых существа, и таков был вид их: облик их был как у человека;

but each had four faces, and each of them had four wings.

и у каждого четыре лица, и у каждого из них четыре крыла;

Their legs were straight, and the soles of their feet were like the sole of a calf’s foot. And they sparkled like burnished bronze.

а ноги их — ноги прямые, и ступни ног их — как ступня ноги у тельца, и сверкали, как блестящая медь.

Under their wings on their four sides they had human hands. And the four had their faces and their wings thus:

И руки человеческие были под крыльями их, на четырех сторонах их;

their wings touched one another. Each one of them went straight forward, without turning as they went.

и лица у них, и крылья у них — у всех четырех. Крылья их соприкасались одно с другим. Во время шествия своего они не оборачивались, а шли каждое по направлению лица своего.

As for the likeness of their faces, each had a human face. The four had the face of a lion on the right side, the four had the face of an ox on the left side, and the four had the face of an eagle.

Подобие лиц их — лицо человека и лицо льва с правой стороны у всех их четырех; а с левой стороны — лицо тельца у всех четырех и лицо орла у всех четырех.

Such were their faces. And their wings were spread out above. Each creature had two wings, each of which touched the wing of another, while two covered their bodies.

И лица их, и крылья их сверху были разделены, но у каждого два крыла соприкасались одно с другим, а два покрывали тела их.

And each went straight forward. Wherever the spiritc would go, they went, without turning as they went.

И шли они, каждое в ту сторону, которая перед лицом его: куда дух хотел идти, туда и шли; во время шествия своего не оборачивались.

As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, like the appearance of torches moving to and fro among the living creatures. And the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth lightning.

И вид этих живых существ был как вид горящих углей, как вид лампад. Огонь ходил между живыми существами и сияние от огня, и молния исходила из огня.

And the living creatures darted to and fro, like the appearance of a flash of lightning.

И живые существа быстро двигались туда и сюда, как сверкает молния.

Now as I looked at the living creatures, I saw a wheel on the earth beside the living creatures, one for each of the four of them.d

И смотрел я на живые существа, и вот, на земле подле этих живых существ — по одному колесу перед четырьмя лицами их.

As for the appearance of the wheels and their construction: their appearance was like the gleaming of beryl. And the four had the same likeness, their appearance and construction being as it were a wheel within a wheel.

Вид колес и устроение их — как вид топаза, и подобие у всех четырех одно. И по виду их, и по устроению их казалось, будто колесо находилось в колесе.

When they went, they went in any of their four directionse without turning as they went.

Когда они шли — шли на четыре свои стороны; во время шествия не оборачивались.

And their rims were tall and awesome, and the rims of all four were full of eyes all around.

А ободья их — высоки и страшны были они; ободья их у всех четырех вокруг полны были глаз.

And when the living creatures went, the wheels went beside them; and when the living creatures rose from the earth, the wheels rose.

И когда шли живые существа, шли и колеса подле них; а когда живые существа поднимались от земли, тогда поднимались и колеса.

Wherever the spirit wanted to go, they went, and the wheels rose along with them, for the spirit of the living creaturesf was in the wheels.

Куда дух хотел идти, туда шли и они; куда бы ни пошел дух — и колеса поднимались наравне с ними, ибо дух живых существ был в колесах.

When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those rose from the earth, the wheels rose along with them, for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.

Когда шли те, шли и они; и когда те стояли, стояли и они; и когда те поднимались от земли, тогда наравне с ними поднимались и колеса, ибо дух живых существ был в колесах.

Over the heads of the living creatures there was the likeness of an expanse, shining like awe-inspiring crystal, spread out above their heads.

Над головами живых существ было подобие свода, как вид изумительного кристалла, простертого сверху над головами их.

And under the expanse their wings were stretched out straight, one toward another. And each creature had two wings covering its body.

А под сводом простирались крылья их — прямо одно к другому; и у каждого были два крыла, которые покрывали их, у каждого два крыла покрывали тела их.

And when they went, I heard the sound of their wings like the sound of many waters, like the sound of the Almighty, a sound of tumult like the sound of an army. When they stood still, they let down their wings.

И когда они шли, я слышал шум крыльев их, как бы шум многих вод, как бы глас Всемогущего, сильный шум, как бы шум в воинском стане; а когда они останавливались — опускали крылья свои.

And there came a voice from above the expanse over their heads. When they stood still, they let down their wings.

И голос был со свода, который над головами их; когда они останавливались, тогда опускали крылья свои.

And above the expanse over their heads there was the likeness of a throne, in appearance like sapphire;g and seated above the likeness of a throne was a likeness with a human appearance.

А над сводом, который над головами их, было подобие престола по виду как бы из камня сапфира; а над подобием престола было как бы подобие человека вверху на нем.

And upward from what had the appearance of his waist I saw as it were gleaming metal, like the appearance of fire enclosed all around. And downward from what had the appearance of his waist I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and there was brightness around him.h

И видел я как бы пылающий металл, как бы вид огня внутри него вокруг; от вида чресл его и выше и от вида чресл его и ниже я видел как бы некий огонь, и сияние было вокруг него.

Like the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud on the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness all around. Such was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell on my face, and I heard the voice of one speaking.

В каком виде бывает радуга на облаках во время дождя, такой вид имело это сияние кругом.
