Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

Сі́мѡнъ пе́тръ, ра́бъ и҆ посла́нникъ ї҆и҃съ хр҇то́въ, равноч҇тнѹю съ на́ми полѹчи́вшими вѣ́рѹ въ пра́вдѣ бг҃а на́шегѡ и҆ сп҃са ї҆и҃са хр҇та̀:

Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

блгдть ва́мъ и҆ ми́ръ да ѹ҆мно́житсѧ въ позна́нїи бг҃а, и҆ хр҇та̀ ї҆и҃са гд҇а на́шегѡ.

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

ѩ҆́кѡ всѧ҄ на́мъ бж҇твенныѧ си́лы є҆гѡ̀, ѩ҆̀же къ животѹ̀ и҆ бл҃гоче́стїю, по́дана ра́зѹмомъ {позна́нїемъ} призва́вшагѡ на́съ сла́вою и҆ добродѣ́телїю,

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

и҆́миже чт҇на҄ѧ на́мъ и҆ вели҄каѧ ѡ҆бѣтова҄нїѧ дарова́шасѧ, да си́хъ ра́ди бѹ́дете бж҇твеннагѡ прича҄стницы є҆стества̀, ѿбѣ́гше, ѩ҆́же въ мі́рѣ, по́хотныѧ тлѝ:

And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

и҆ въ са́мое же сїѐ, тща́нїе всѐ привне́сше, подади́те въ вѣ́рѣ ва́шей добродѣ́тель, въ добродѣ́тели же ра́зѹмъ,

And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

въ ра́зѹмѣ же воздержа́нїе, въ воздержа́нїи же терпѣ́нїе, въ терпѣ́нїи же бл҃гоче́стїе,

And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

во бл҃гоче́стїи же братолю́бїе, въ братолю́бїи же любо́вь.

For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Сїѧ҄ бо сѹ҄щаѧ въ ва́съ и҆ мнѡ́жащаѧсѧ, не пра́здныхъ нижѐ безпло́дныхъ сотворѧ́тъ вы̀ въ гд҇а на́шегѡ ї҆и҃са хр҇та̀ позна́нїе:

But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

є҆мѹ́же бо нѣ́сть си́хъ, слѣ́пъ є҆́сть, мжа́й, забве́нїе прїе́мъ ѡ҆чище́нїѧ дре́внихъ свои́хъ грѣхѡ́въ.

Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

(За҄ 65.) Тѣ́мже па́че, бра́тїе, потщи́тесѧ и҆звѣ́стно ва́ше зва́нїе и҆ и҆збра́нїе твори́ти: сїѧ҄ бо творѧ́ще, не и҆́мате согрѣши́ти никогда́же,

For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

си́це бо ѻ҆би́лнѡ припода́стсѧ ва́мъ вхо́дъ въ вѣ́чное цр҇тво гд҇а на́шегѡ и҆ сп҃са ї҆и҃са хр҇та̀.

Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.

Сегѡ̀ ра́ди не ѡ҆блѣню́сѧ воспомина́ти пр҇нѡ ва́мъ ѡ҆ си́хъ, а҆́ще и҆ вѣ́дите, и҆ ѹ҆твержде́ни є҆стѐ въ настоѧ́щей и҆́стинѣ.

Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;

Пра́ведно бо мню̀, доне́лѣже є҆́смь въ се́мъ тѣлесѝ, возставлѧ́ти ва́съ воспомина́нїемъ,

Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.

вѣ́дый, ѩ҆́кѡ ско́рѡ є҆́сть ѿложе́нїе тѣлесѐ моегѡ̀, ѩ҆́коже и҆ гд҇ь на́шъ ї҆и҃съ хр҇то́съ сказа̀ мнѣ̀.

Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.

Потщѹ́сѧ же и҆ всегда̀ и҆мѣ́ти ва́съ по мое́мъ и҆схо́дѣ па́мѧть ѡ҆ си́хъ твори́ти.

For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

Не ѹ҆хищрє́ннымъ бо ба́снемъ послѣ́довавше сказа́хомъ ва́мъ си́лѹ и҆ прише́ствїе гд҇а на́шегѡ ї҆и҃са хр҇та̀, но самови́дцы бы́вше вели́чествїѧ ѻ҆́нагѡ.

For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Прїе́мъ бо ѿ бг҃а ѻ҆ц҃а̀ че́сть и҆ сла́вѹ, гла́сѹ прише́дшѹ къ немѹ̀ ѿ велелѣ́пныѧ сла́вы: се́й є҆́сть сн҃ъ мо́й возлю́бленный, ѡ҆ не́мже а҆́зъ бл҃гоизво́лихъ.

And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.

И҆ се́й гла́съ мы̀ слы́шахомъ съ небесѐ сше́дшь, съ ни́мъ сѹ́ще на горѣ̀ ст҃ѣ́й.

We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

И҆ и҆́мамы и҆звѣ́стнѣйшее про҇ро́ческое сло́во: є҆мѹ́же внима́юще ѩ҆́коже свѣти́лѹ сїѧ́ющѹ въ те́мнѣмъ мѣ́стѣ, до́брѣ творитѐ, до́ндеже де́нь ѡ҆зари́тъ, и҆ денни́ца возсїѧ́етъ въ сердца́хъ ва́шихъ,

Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

(За҄ 66.) сїѐ пре́жде вѣ́дѹще, ѩ҆́кѡ всѧ́ко про҇ро́чество кни́жное по своемѹ̀ ска́занїю не быва́етъ.

For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Ни бо̀ во́лею бы́сть когда̀ человѣ́кѡмъ про҇ро́чество, но ѿ ст҃а́гѡ дх҃а просвѣща́еми глаго́лаша ст҃і́и бж҃їи человѣ́цы.
