The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel;

При́тчи Соломо́на, сы́на Дави́дова, царя́ Изра́ильского,

To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding;

что́бы позна́ть му́дрость и наставле́ние, поня́ть изрече́ния ра́зума;

To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity;

усво́ить пра́вила благоразу́мия, правосу́дия, суда́ и правоты́;

To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.

просты́м дать смышлёность, ю́ноше — зна́ние и рассуди́тельность;

A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels:

послу́шает му́дрый — и умно́жит позна́ния, и разу́мный найдёт му́дрые сове́ты;

To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings.

что́бы разуме́ть при́тчу и замыслова́тую речь, слова́ мудрецо́в и зага́дки их.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Нача́ло му́дрости — страх Госпо́день; глупцы́ то́лько презира́ют му́дрость и наставле́ние.

My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

Слу́шай, сын мой, наставле́ние отца́ твоего́ и не отверга́й заве́та ма́тери твое́й,

For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.

потому́ что э́то — прекра́сный вено́к для головы́ твое́й и украше́ние для ше́и твое́й.

My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.

Сын мой! е́сли бу́дут склоня́ть тебя́ гре́шники, не соглаша́йся;

If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:

е́сли бу́дут говори́ть: «иди́ с на́ми, сде́лаем заса́ду для уби́йства, подстережём непоро́чного без вины́,

Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit:

живы́х прогло́тим их, как преиспо́дняя, и — це́лых, как нисходя́щих в моги́лу;

We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil:

наберём вся́кого драгоце́нного иму́щества, напо́лним домы́ на́ши добы́чею;

Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:

жре́бий твой ты бу́дешь броса́ть вме́сте с на́ми, склад оди́н бу́дет у всех нас», —

My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:

сын мой! не ходи́ в путь с ни́ми, удержи́ но́гу твою́ от стези́ их,

For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.

потому́ что но́ги их бегу́т ко злу и спеша́т на проли́тие кро́ви.

Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.

В глаза́х всех птиц напра́сно расставля́ется сеть,

And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives.

а де́лают заса́ду для их кро́ви и подстерега́ют их ду́ши.

So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.

Таковы́ пути́ вся́кого, кто а́лчет чужо́го добра́: оно́ отнима́ет жизнь у завладе́вшего им.

Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:

Прему́дрость возглаша́ет на у́лице, на площадя́х возвыша́ет го́лос свой,

She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,

в гла́вных места́х собра́ний пропове́дует, при вхо́дах в городски́е воро́та говори́т речь свою́:

How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

«доко́ле, неве́жды, бу́дете люби́ть неве́жество? доко́ле бу́йные бу́дут услажда́ться бу́йством? доко́ле глупцы́ бу́дут ненави́деть зна́ние?

Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

Обрати́тесь к моему́ обличе́нию: вот, я изолью́ на вас дух мой, возвещу́ вам слова́ мои́.

Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;

Я звала́, и вы не послу́шались; простира́ла ру́ку мою́, и не́ бы́ло внима́ющего;

But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:

и вы отве́ргли все мои́ сове́ты, и обличе́ний мои́х не при́няли.

I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;

За то и я посмею́сь ва́шей поги́бели; пора́дуюсь, когда́ придёт на вас у́жас;

When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.

когда́ придёт на вас у́жас, как бу́ря, и беда́, как вихрь, принесётся на вас; когда́ пости́гнет вас скорбь и теснота́.

Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:

Тогда́ бу́дут звать меня́, и я не услы́шу; с утра́ бу́дут иска́ть меня́, и не найду́т меня́.

For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:

За то, что они́ возненави́дели зна́ние и не избра́ли для себя́ стра́ха Госпо́дня,

They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.

не при́няли сове́та моего́, презре́ли все обличе́ния мои́;

Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.

за то и бу́дут они́ вкуша́ть от плодо́в путе́й свои́х и насыща́ться от по́мыслов их.

For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

Потому́ что упо́рство неве́жд убьёт их, и беспе́чность глупцо́в погу́бит их,

But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

а слу́шающий меня́ бу́дет жить безопа́сно и споко́йно, не страша́сь зла».
