Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the River Chebar, that the heavens were opened and I saw visions[a] of God.

Это было в тридцатый год, на пятый день четвертого месяца, когда я был среди переселенцев у потока Кевар: открылись небеса и явились мне видения Божии.

On the fifth day of the month, which was in the fifth year of King Jehoiachin’s captivity,

На пятый год пленения царя Йояхина, в пятый день месяца,

the word of the Lord came expressly to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the [b]Chaldeans by the River Chebar; and the hand of the Lord was upon him there.

было слово Господне к священнику Иезекиилю, сыну Бузи, который был тогда в стране халдеев, у потока Кевар; и была на нем рука Господня.

Then I looked, and behold, a whirlwind was coming out of the north, a great cloud with raging fire engulfing itself; and brightness was all around it and radiating out of its midst like the color of amber, out of the midst of the fire.

Видел я, как с севера налетел могучий ветер с огромной тучей и сверкающими молниями, а вокруг него — сияние, а в середине его сверкало нечто вроде янтаря.

Also from within it came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance: they had the likeness of a man.

Были посреди него четверо живых существ, на вид подобных людям.

Each one had four faces, and each one had four wings.

Но было у них по четыре лица и по четыре крыла;

Their [c]legs were straight, and the soles of their feet were like the soles of calves’ feet. They sparkled like the color of burnished bronze.

ноги у них прямые, и на них словно бычьи копыта, сверкающие, как блестящая бронза;

The hands of a man were under their wings on their four sides; and each of the four had faces and wings.

а по четырем сторонам были у них под крыльями человеческие руки.

Their wings touched one another. The creatures did not turn when they went, but each one went straight forward.

Их крылья соприкасались друг с другом, и во время шествия они не оборачивались, а шли, куда смотрели их лица.

As for the likeness of their faces, each had the face of a man; each of the four had the face of a lion on the right side, each of the four had the face of an ox on the left side, and each of the four had the face of an eagle.

С правой стороны у всех четырех лицо человеческое и лицо львиное, а с левой стороны у всех четырех — лицо бычье и, у всех четырех, лицо орлиное —

Thus were their faces. Their wings stretched upward; two wings of each one touched one another, and two covered their bodies.

такие у них лица. А крылья воздеты вверх, так что два крыла касались других животных по обеим сторонам, а два крыла покрывали тело.

And each one went straight forward; they went wherever the spirit wanted to go, and they did not turn when they went.

Каждое шло туда, куда смотрело лицо — куда хотел Дух, туда и шли, и во время шествия не оборачивались.

As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, like the appearance of torches going back and forth among the living creatures. The fire was bright, and out of the fire went lightning.

Эти существа были подобны раскаленным углям и горящим факелам; между существами пробегало пламя, от него исходило сияние, и молнии били из огня.

And the living creatures ran back and forth, in appearance like a flash of lightning.

И сами эти существа с быстротой молнии перемещались туда и сюда.

Now as I looked at the living creatures, behold, a wheel was on the earth beside each living creature with its four faces.

Я смотрел на этих существ, и увидел четыре колеса на земле, по одному перед каждым из них.

The appearance of the wheels and their workings was like the color of beryl, and all four had the same likeness. The appearance of their workings was, as it were, a wheel in the middle of a wheel.

На вид и по своему составу они словно из кристалла, на вид и по составу они одинаковы, причем внутри каждого колеса находилось другое колесо.

When they moved, they went toward any one of four directions; they did not turn aside when they went.

Они двигались в любую из четырех сторон, и при движении не поворачивали.

As for their rims, they were so high they were awesome; and their rims were full of eyes, all around the four of them.

Высоки и ужасны их ободья, и ободья их усеяны глазами — все четыре.

When the living creatures went, the wheels went beside them; and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up.

Когда приходили в движение те существа, то двигались и колеса, а когда существа отрывались от земли, отрывались и колеса.

Wherever the spirit wanted to go, they went, because there the spirit went; and the wheels were lifted together with them, for the spirit of the [d]living creatures was in the wheels.

Куда двигался Дух, туда и они, и куда бы ни направился Дух, подле него поднимались и колеса, ибо в них был дух тех существ.

When those went, these went; when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up together with them, for the spirit of the [e]living creatures was in the wheels.

Когда двигались одни, то двигались и другие, а когда останавливались одни, то останавливались и другие, и когда существа поднимались, то поднимались подле них и колеса, ибо дух существ был в колесах.

The likeness of the [f]firmament above the heads of the [g]living creatures was like the color of an awesome crystal, stretched out over their heads.

А то, что было поверх существ, походило на свод из сияющего льда, раскинутый прямо у них над головами.

And under the firmament their wings spread out straight, one toward another. Each one had two which covered one side, and each one had two which covered the other side of the body.

Прямо под сводом сходились их крылья, так, что одно касалось другого, а другие два крыла покрывали у каждого его тело.

When they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of many waters, like the voice of the Almighty, a tumult like the noise of an army; and when they stood still, they let down their wings.

И слышен был мне шум от их крыльев, как рокот водопада, как гром Всесильного, грохот бури и крик войска — когда они двигались. А когда останавливались, то опускали крылья.

A voice came from above the firmament that was over their heads; whenever they stood, they let down their wings.

И звучал голос со свода, что был у них над головами, когда они останавливались и опускали крылья.

And above the firmament over their heads was the likeness of a throne, in appearance like a sapphire stone; on the likeness of the throne was a likeness with the appearance of a man high above it.

Над сводом, что был у них над головами, было нечто, на вид подобное престолу из сапфира, а на престоле восседал Некто, подобный на вид человеку.

Also from the appearance of His waist and upward I saw, as it were, the color of amber with the appearance of fire all around within it; and from the appearance of His waist and downward I saw, as it were, the appearance of fire with brightness all around.

Я увидел, что оттуда, где у Него был бы пояс, и выше, Он словно из расплавленного янтаря, и весь окружен огнем, а ниже Он был словно из огня, и окружен сиянием.

Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. Ezekiel Sent to Rebellious IsraelSo when I saw it, I fell on my face, and I heard a voice of One speaking.

Это сияние вокруг Него походило на радугу, какая бывает в облаках в дождливый день.
