Now after the death of Joshua it came to pass that the children of Israel asked the Lord, saying, “Who shall be first to go up for us against the Canaanites to fight against them?”

По сме́рти Иису́са вопроша́ли сыны́ Изра́илевы Го́спода, говоря́: кто из нас пре́жде пойдёт на Ханане́ев — воева́ть с ни́ми?

And the Lord said, “Judah shall go up. Indeed I have delivered the land into his hand.”

И сказа́л Госпо́дь: Иу́да пойдёт; вот, Я предаю́ зе́млю в ру́ки его́.

So Judah said to Simeon his brother, “Come up with me to my allotted territory, that we may fight against the Canaanites; and I will likewise go with you to your allotted territory.” And Simeon went with him.

Иу́да же сказа́л Симео́ну, бра́ту своему́: войди́ со мно́ю в жре́бий мой, и бу́дем воева́ть с Ханане́ями; и я войду́ с тобо́ю в твой жре́бий. И пошёл с ним Симео́н.

Then Judah went up, and the Lord delivered the Canaanites and the Perizzites into their hand; and they killed ten thousand men at Bezek.

И пошёл Иу́да, и преда́л Госпо́дь Ханане́ев и Ферезе́ев в ру́ки их, и поби́ли они́ из них в Везе́ке де́сять ты́сяч челове́к.

And they found Adoni-Bezek in Bezek, and fought against him; and they defeated the Canaanites and the Perizzites.

В Везе́ке встре́тились они́ с Адони́-Везе́ком, срази́лись с ним и разби́ли Ханане́ев и Ферезе́ев.

Then Adoni-Bezek fled, and they pursued him and caught him and cut off his thumbs and big toes.

Адони́-Везе́к побежа́л, но они́ погна́лись за ним и пойма́ли его́ и отсекли́ больши́е па́льцы на рука́х его́ и на нога́х его́.

And Adoni-Bezek said, “Seventy kings with their thumbs and big toes cut off used to gather scraps under my table; as I have done, so God has repaid me.” Then they brought him to Jerusalem, and there he died.

Тогда́ сказа́л Адони́-Везе́к: се́мьдесят царе́й с отсечёнными на рука́х и на нога́х их больши́ми па́льцами собира́ли кро́хи под столо́м мои́м; как де́лал я, так и мне возда́л Бог. И привели́ его́ в Иерусали́м, и он у́мер там.

Now the children of Judah fought against Jerusalem and took it; they struck it with the edge of the sword and set the city on fire.

И воева́ли сыны́ Иу́дины про́тив Иерусали́ма и взя́ли его́, и порази́ли его́ мечо́м и го́род преда́ли огню́.

And afterward the children of Judah went down to fight against the Canaanites who dwelt in the mountains, in the [a]South, and in the lowland.

Пото́м пошли́ сыны́ Иу́дины воева́ть с Ханане́ями, кото́рые жи́ли на гора́х и на полу́денной земле́ и на ни́зменных места́х.

Then Judah [b]went against the Canaanites who dwelt in Hebron. (Now the name of Hebron was formerly Kirjath Arba.) And they killed Sheshai, Ahiman, and Talmai.

И пошёл Иу́да на Ханане́ев, кото́рые жи́ли в Хевро́не (и́мя же Хевро́ну бы́ло пре́жде Кириа́ф-Арбы́), и порази́ли Шеша́я, Ахима́на и Фалма́я.

From there they went against the inhabitants of Debir. (The name of Debir was formerly Kirjath Sepher.)

Отту́да пошёл он про́тив жи́телей Дави́ра; и́мя Дави́ру бы́ло пре́жде Кириа́ф-Сефе́р.

Then Caleb said, “Whoever attacks Kirjath Sepher and takes it, to him I will give my daughter Achsah as wife.”

И сказа́л Хале́в: кто порази́т Кириа́ф-Сефе́р и возьмёт его́, тому́ отда́м Ахсу́, дочь мою́, в жену́.

And Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s younger brother, took it; so he gave him his daughter Achsah as wife.

И взял его́ Гофонии́л, сын Кена́за, мла́дшего бра́та Хале́вова, и Хале́в отда́л в жену́ ему́ Ахсу́, дочь свою́.

Now it happened, when she came to him, that [c]she urged him to ask her father for a field. And she dismounted from her donkey, and Caleb said to her, “What do you wish?”

Когда́ надлежа́ло ей идти́, Гофонии́л научи́л её проси́ть у отца́ её по́ле, и она́ сошла́ с осла́. Хале́в сказа́л ей: что тебе́?

So she said to him, “Give me a blessing; since you have given me land in the South, give me also springs of water.” And Caleb gave her the upper springs and the lower springs.

Ахса́ сказа́ла ему́: дай мне благослове́ние; ты дал мне зе́млю полу́денную, дай мне и исто́чники воды́. И дал ей Хале́в исто́чники ве́рхние и исто́чники ни́жние.

Now the children of the Kenite, Moses’ father-in-law, went up from the City of Palms with the children of Judah into the Wilderness of Judah, which lies in the South near Arad; and they went and dwelt among the people.

И сыны́ Иофо́ра Кенея́нина, те́стя Моисе́ева, пошли́ из го́рода Пальм с сына́ми Иу́диными в пусты́ню Иу́дину, кото́рая на юг от Ара́да, и пришли́ и посели́лись среди́ наро́да.

And Judah went with his brother Simeon, and they attacked the Canaanites who inhabited Zephath, and utterly destroyed it. So the name of the city was called Hormah.

И пошёл Иу́да с Симео́ном, бра́том свои́м, и порази́ли Ханане́ев, жи́вших в Цефа́фе, и преда́ли его́ закля́тию, и оттого́ называ́ется го́род сей Хо́рма.

Also Judah took Gaza with its territory, Ashkelon with its territory, and Ekron with its territory.

Иу́да взял та́кже Га́зу с преде́лами её, Аскало́н с преде́лами его́, и Екро́н с преде́лами его́.

So the Lord was with Judah. And they drove out the mountaineers, but they could not drive out the inhabitants of the lowland, because they had chariots of iron.

Госпо́дь был с Иу́дою, и он овладе́л горо́ю; но жи́телей доли́ны не мог прогна́ть, потому́ что у них бы́ли желе́зные колесни́цы.

And they gave Hebron to Caleb, as Moses had said. Then he [d]expelled from there the three sons of Anak.

И отда́ли Хале́ву Хевро́н, как говори́л Моисе́й, и изгна́л он отту́да трёх сыно́в Ена́ковых.

But the children of Benjamin did not drive out the Jebusites who inhabited Jerusalem; so the Jebusites dwell with the children of Benjamin in Jerusalem to this day.

Но Иевусе́ев, кото́рые жи́ли в Иерусали́ме, не изгна́ли сыны́ Вениами́новы, и живу́т Иевусе́и с сына́ми Вениами́на в Иерусали́ме до сего́ дня.

And the [e]house of Joseph also went up against Bethel, and the Lord was with them.

И сыны́ Ио́сифа пошли́ та́кже на Вефи́ль, и Госпо́дь был с ни́ми.

So the [f]house of Joseph sent men to spy out Bethel. (The name of the city was formerly Luz.)

и высма́тривали сыны́ Ио́сифовы Вефи́ль (и́мя же го́роду бы́ло пре́жде Луз).

And when the spies saw a man coming out of the city, they said to him, “Please show us the entrance to the city, and we will show you mercy.”

И уви́дели стра́жи челове́ка, иду́щего из го́рода, и сказа́ли ему́: покажи́ нам вход в го́род, и сде́лаем с тобо́ю ми́лость.

So he showed them the entrance to the city, and they struck the city with the edge of the sword; but they let the man and all his family go.

Он показа́л им вход в го́род, и порази́ли они́ го́род мечо́м, а челове́ка сего́ и всё родство́ его́ отпусти́ли.

And the man went to the land of the Hittites, built a city, and called its name Luz, which is its name to this day.

Челове́к сей пошёл в зе́млю Хетте́ев, и постро́ил го́род и нарёк и́мя ему́ Луз. Э́то и́мя его́ до сего́ дня.

However, Manasseh did not drive out the inhabitants of Beth Shean and its villages, or Taanach and its villages, or the inhabitants of Dor and its villages, or the inhabitants of Ibleam and its villages, or the inhabitants of Megiddo and its villages; for the Canaanites were determined to dwell in that land.

И Мана́ссия не вы́гнал жи́телей Бефса́на и зави́сящих от него́ городо́в, Фаана́ха и зави́сящих от него́ городо́в, жи́телей До́ра и зави́сящих от него́ городо́в, жи́телей Ивлеа́ма и зави́сящих от него́ городо́в, жи́телей Мегиддо́на и зави́сящих от него́ городо́в; и оста́лись Ханане́и жить в земле́ сей.

And it came to pass, when Israel was strong, that they put the Canaanites [g]under tribute, but did not completely drive them out.

Когда́ Изра́иль пришёл в си́лу, тогда́ сде́лал он Ханане́ев да́нниками, но изгна́ть не изгна́л их.

Nor did Ephraim drive out the Canaanites who dwelt in Gezer; so the Canaanites dwelt in Gezer among them.

И Ефре́м не изгна́л Ханане́ев, живу́щих в Га́зере; и жи́ли Ханане́и среди́ их в Га́зере.

Nor did Zebulun drive out the inhabitants of Kitron or the inhabitants of Nahalol; so the Canaanites dwelt among them, and [h]were put under tribute.

И Завуло́н не изгна́л жи́телей Китро́на и жи́телей Нагло́ла, и жи́ли Ханане́и среди́ их и плати́ли им дань.

Nor did Asher drive out the inhabitants of Acco or the inhabitants of Sidon, or of Ahlab, Achzib, Helbah, Aphik, or Rehob.

И Аси́р не изгна́л жи́телей А́кко и жи́телей Сидо́на и Ахла́ва, Ахзи́ва, Хе́лвы, Афе́ка и Рехо́ва.

So the Asherites dwelt among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land; for they did not drive them out.

И жил Аси́р среди́ Ханане́ев, жи́телей земли́ той, и́бо не изгна́л их.

Nor did Naphtali drive out the inhabitants of Beth Shemesh or the inhabitants of Beth Anath; but they dwelt among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land. Nevertheless the inhabitants of Beth Shemesh and Beth Anath were put under tribute to them.

И Неффали́м не изгна́л жи́телей Вефсами́са и жи́телей Бефана́фа и жил среди́ Ханане́ев, жи́телей земли́ той; жи́тели же Вефсами́са и Бефана́фа бы́ли его́ да́нниками.

And the Amorites forced the children of Dan into the mountains, for they would not allow them to come down to the valley;

И стесни́ли Аморре́и сыно́в Да́новых в гора́х, и́бо не дава́ли им сходи́ть на доли́ну.

and the Amorites were determined to dwell in Mount Heres, in Aijalon, and in [i]Shaalbim; yet when the strength of the house of Joseph became greater, they [j]were put under tribute.

И оста́лись Аморре́и жить на горе́ Хере́с, в Аиало́не и Шаалви́ме; но рука́ сыно́в Ио́сифовых одоле́ла Аморре́ев, и сде́лались они́ да́нниками им.

Now the boundary of the Amorites was from the Ascent of Akrabbim, from Sela, and upward.

Преде́лы Аморре́ев от возвы́шенности Акрави́м и от Селы́ простира́лись и да́лее.
