Now Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and the Lord his God was with him and exalted him exceedingly.

Соломон стал очень сильным царём, ибо Господь, Бог его, был с ним. Господь очень возвысил Соломона.

And Solomon spoke to all Israel, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, to the judges, and to every leader in all Israel, the heads of the fathers’ houses.

Соломон обратился ко всему израильскому народу. Он обратился к начальникам над тысячами и сотнями, к судьям, ко всем вождям Израиля и ко всем главам семей.

Then Solomon, and all the assembly with him, went to [a]the high place that was at Gibeon; for the tabernacle of meeting with God was there, which Moses the servant of the Lord had made in the wilderness.

Затем Соломон и все люди, которые собрались вместе, пошли на высоту в Гаваоне. Там находился Божий шатёр собрания. Слуга Господа Моисей сделал этот шатёр, когда он и народ Израиля находились в пустыне.

But David had brought up the ark of God from Kirjath Jearim to the place David had prepared for it, for he had pitched a tent for it at Jerusalem.

Давид нёс ковчег завета из Кириафиарима в Иерусалим, где сделал место для него. Давид устроил в Иерусалиме шатёр для ковчега завета Божьего.

Now the bronze altar that Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made, [b]he put before the tabernacle of the Lord; Solomon and the assembly sought Him there.

Веселеил, сын Урия, сына Орова, сделал бронзовый алтарь. Этот бронзовый алтарь находился в Гаваоне перед священным шатром. И пошёл Соломон и все люди в Гаваон просить у Господа совета.

And Solomon went up there to the bronze altar before the Lord, which was at the tabernacle of meeting, and offered a thousand burnt offerings on it.

Соломон поднялся к бронзовому алтарю перед Господом у шатра собрания и принёс на алтаре тысячу всесожжении.

On that night God appeared to Solomon, and said to him, “Ask! What shall I give you?”

В ту ночь Бог пришёл к Соломону и сказал: "Соломон, проси, что ты хочешь, чтобы Я дал тебе".

And Solomon said to God: “You have shown great mercy to David my father, and have made me king in his place.

Соломон сказал Богу: "Ты был очень добр к моему отцу Давиду. Ты сделал меня царём вместо отца.

Now, O Lord God, let Your promise to David my father be established, for You have made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.

Теперь, Господи Боже, сдержи Своё обещание, данное отцу моему Давиду. Ты сделал меня царём очень многочисленного народа. Людей в нём так много, как пыли на земле!

Now give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people; for who can judge this great people of Yours?”

Дай же мне мудрость и знание, чтобы я мог вести этот народ правильным путём. Никто не может править этим народом без Твоей помощи!"

Then God said to Solomon: “Because this was in your heart, and you have not asked riches or wealth or honor or the life of your enemies, nor have you asked long life — but have asked wisdom and knowledge for yourself, that you may judge My people over whom I have made you king —

Бог сказал Соломону: "Ты правильно рассуждаешь. Ты не просил богатства, изобилия или славы. Ты не просил смерти своим врагам. Ты не просил себе долгой жизни. Нет, ты не просил всего этого. Ты просил себе мудрости и знания, чтобы принимать мудрые решения для Моего народа, над которым Я поставил тебя править.

wisdom and knowledge are granted to you; and I will give you riches and wealth and honor, such as none of the kings have had who were before you, nor shall any after you have the like.”

Поэтому Я дам тебе мудрость и знание. Но Я также дам тебе богатство, изобилие и славу. Ни один царь, который жил до тебя, не имел столько богатства и славы. И в будущем ни один из царей не будет столько иметь".

So Solomon came to Jerusalem from [c]the high place that was at Gibeon, from before the tabernacle of meeting, and reigned over Israel.

Соломон ушёл с места поклонения в Гаваоне перед шатром собрания и вернулся в Иерусалим, чтобы царствовать над Израилем.

And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen; he had one thousand four hundred chariots and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he stationed in the chariot cities and with the king in Jerusalem.

Соломон начал собирать лошадей и колесницы для своего войска. У него было тысяча четыреста колесниц и двенадцать тысяч всадников. Он поселил их в колесничных городах. Некоторых из них Соломон поселил в Иерусалиме, где находился царский дом.

Also the king made silver and gold as common in Jerusalem as stones, and he made cedars as abundant as the sycamores which are in the lowland.

В Иерусалиме Соломон собрал много золота и серебра. Там было столько золота и серебра, что они были равноценны простым камням. Соломон собрал много кедрового дерева. Там было столько кедра, что он был равноценен сикоморам с западного предгорья.

And Solomon had horses imported from Egypt and Keveh; the king’s merchants bought them in Keveh at the current price.

They also acquired and imported from Egypt a chariot for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for one hundred and fifty; thus, [d]through their agents, they exported them to all the kings of the Hittites and the kings of Syria.

а колесницы они покупали в Египте за шестьсот сиклей серебра и лошадь за сто пятьдесят сиклей серебра. Затем они продавали лошадей и колесницы всем царям Хеттейским и Арамейским.
