Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the River Chebar, that the heavens were opened and I saw visions[a] of God.

Я — священник Иезекииль, сын Вузия. Я был в изгнании возле Канала Кебара в земле Вавилонской, когда небо раскрылось и подарило мне видение Бога.

On the fifth day of the month, which was in the fifth year of King Jehoiachin’s captivity,

Это было на пятый день четвертого месяца (июня) тридцатого года. В пятый год изгнания царя Иоакима,

the word of the Lord came expressly to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the [b]Chaldeans by the River Chebar; and the hand of the Lord was upon him there.

на пятый день месяца к Иезекиилю пришло слово Господне, снизошла на него сила Господня.

Then I looked, and behold, a whirlwind was coming out of the north, a great cloud with raging fire engulfing itself; and brightness was all around it and radiating out of its midst like the color of amber, out of the midst of the fire.

Я, Иезекииль, видел вихрь, идущий с севера. Это была большая туча, из которой рвался огонь, и вокруг нее сиял свет. Она была подобна раскалённому металлу, сияющему в огне.

Also from within it came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance: they had the likeness of a man.

В середине её я увидел четырёх животных, они выглядели, как люди.

Each one had four faces, and each one had four wings.

У каждого из них было по четыре лица и четыре крыла.

Their [c]legs were straight, and the soles of their feet were like the soles of calves’ feet. They sparkled like the color of burnished bronze.

Их ноги были прямыми, но ступни были парнокопытны, как у коров, и блестели, как начищенная медь.

The hands of a man were under their wings on their four sides; and each of the four had faces and wings.

Под крыльями у них были человеческие руки, у тех четырёх животных было по четыре лица и четыре крыла.

Their wings touched one another. The creatures did not turn when they went, but each one went straight forward.

Животные были соединены в местах соприкосновения крыльев. Каждое из них шло прямо вперёд, не оглядываясь, когда передвигалось.

As for the likeness of their faces, each had the face of a man; each of the four had the face of a lion on the right side, each of the four had the face of an ox on the left side, and each of the four had the face of an eagle.

Каждое из них имело четыре лица, и впереди было лицо человека, справа — лицо льва, слева — лицо быка, а сзади — орла. И все они были похожи.

Thus were their faces. Their wings stretched upward; two wings of each one touched one another, and two covered their bodies.

Их крылья были расправлены сверху. У каждого было два крыла, которые касались крыльев другого. У них также было два крыла, которые они использовали, чтобы укрывать свои тела.

And each one went straight forward; they went wherever the spirit wanted to go, and they did not turn when they went.

Они двигались, не поворачиваясь, туда, куда был направлен их взгляд. Они шли туда, куда их вёл ветер.

As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, like the appearance of torches going back and forth among the living creatures. The fire was bright, and out of the fire went lightning.

Они сверкали, словно горящие угли, огонь был, как молнии между одним животным и другим.

And the living creatures ran back and forth, in appearance like a flash of lightning.

Быстро, как молнии, они переносились в разные стороны.

Now as I looked at the living creatures, behold, a wheel was on the earth beside each living creature with its four faces.

Я смотрел на них и видел четыре колеса: по одному — для каждого лица.

The appearance of the wheels and their workings was like the color of beryl, and all four had the same likeness. The appearance of their workings was, as it were, a wheel in the middle of a wheel.

Колёса касались земли, и казалось, что они сделаны из драгоценного желтого камня, и внутри каждого колеса было ещё колесо.

When they moved, they went toward any one of four directions; they did not turn aside when they went.

Колёса не поворачивались при движении.

As for their rims, they were so high they were awesome; and their rims were full of eyes, all around the four of them.

А теперь об их спинах: они были высоки и полны глаз повсюду, и все четверо животных были одинаковы.

When the living creatures went, the wheels went beside them; and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up.

Колёса двигались одновременно с животными, и если животные поднимались ввысь, колёса поднимались вместе с ними.

Wherever the spirit wanted to go, they went, because there the spirit went; and the wheels were lifted together with them, for the spirit of the [d]living creatures was in the wheels.

Они шли туда, куда вёл их ветер, и колёса шли вместе с ними, ибо ветер (их дух) был в этих колёсах.

When those went, these went; when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up together with them, for the spirit of the [e]living creatures was in the wheels.

И если они двигались, то двигались и колёса, а если останавливались, то и колёса замирали. Если колёса поднимались, то и животные поднимались за ними, ибо в этих колёсах был дух.

The likeness of the [f]firmament above the heads of the [g]living creatures was like the color of an awesome crystal, stretched out over their heads.

И над их головами было такое, что выглядело, как великолепный хрустальный свод, простирающийся над ними.

And under the firmament their wings spread out straight, one toward another. Each one had two which covered one side, and each one had two which covered the other side of the body.

Под сводом у каждого из животных было по четыре крыла, по два с каждой стороны от его тела. Два крыла простирались прямо к другим. Другие два крыла покрывали тело.

When they went, I heard the noise of their wings, like the noise of many waters, like the voice of the Almighty, a tumult like the noise of an army; and when they stood still, they let down their wings.

И тогда я услышал их крылья. При каждом движении животных крылья их издавали шум, подобный сильной, несущейся рядом воде. Они громкими были, как мимо идущий Господь Всемогущий, как армия или толпа людей. И когда животные останавливались, крылья складывались по бокам.

A voice came from above the firmament that was over their heads; whenever they stood, they let down their wings.

Животные останавливались и опускали крылья, и сверху, из свода над ними, раздавался звук громкий над их головами.

And above the firmament over their heads was the likeness of a throne, in appearance like a sapphire stone; on the likeness of the throne was a likeness with the appearance of a man high above it.

Над сводом, который был над их головами, было подобие престола, как сапфир голубой, и на престоле этом некто сидел, собою напоминающий человека.

Also from the appearance of His waist and upward I saw, as it were, the color of amber with the appearance of fire all around within it; and from the appearance of His waist and downward I saw, as it were, the appearance of fire with brightness all around.

Я видел его от пояса и выше, он был, как горячий металл, окружённый огнём, и от пояса книзу всё сияло вокруг него неким огнём.

Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. Ezekiel Sent to Rebellious IsraelSo when I saw it, I fell on my face, and I heard a voice of One speaking.

Вокруг него свет сияющий был, словно радуга. Так выглядела Слава Господня. И пал я на землю и склонился лицом своим к ней, и услышал я голос, говорящий со мной.
