This letter is from Simona Peter, a slave and apostle of Jesus Christ. I am writing to you who share the same precious faith we have. This faith was given to you because of the justice and fairnessb of Jesus Christ, our God and Savior.

Сымон Пётра, нявольнік а апостал Ісуса Хрыста, тым, што прынялі з намі аднакаштоўную веру пераз справядлівасьць Бога нашага а Спаса Ісуса Хрыста:

May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord.

Ласка а супакой вам хай памножацца супоўным знацьцём Бога а Ісуса, Спадара нашага.

By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.

Як Боская сіла Ягоная дала нам усе, да жыцьця а набожнасьці належачае, супоўным знацьцём Таго, хто пагукаў нас сваёй славаю й цнотаю,

And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.

Каторымі даў нам найвялікшыя й каштоўныя абятніцы, каб вы імі сталі ўчасьнікамі Боскае прыроды, уцекшы ад папсаванасьці, каторая на сьвеце жадою, —

In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge,

То вы, ужыўшы да гэтага ўсю ўлегласьць, замейце да веры свае цноту, у цноце знацьцё,

and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness,

У знацьцю ўзьдзержлівасьць, у ўзьдзержлівасьці цярплівосьць, у цярплівосьці набожнасьць,

and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.

У набожнасьці брацтва, у брацтве міласьць.

The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Бо калі гэта ў вас ё і збыткуе, не бязьдзейнымі ані бясплоднымі ўчыне вас узглядам супоўнага знацьця Спадара нашага Ісуса Хрыста;

But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins.

А ў каго няма гэтага ўсяго, тый нявісны, паніклівы і забыўся праз ачышчэньне зь пярэдніх грахоў.

So, dear brothers and sisters,c work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen. Do these things, and you will never fall away.

Затым валей, браты, улягайце чыніць пагуканьне а абраньне свае моцным, бо, чынячы гэта, ніколі не ўпадзіце,

Then God will give you a grand entrance into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Бо гэтак шырака адчыніцца вам уход да вечнага гаспадарства Спадара нашага а Спаса Ісуса Хрыста.

Therefore, I will always remind you about these things — even though you already know them and are standing firm in the truth you have been taught.

Дзеля таго я буду заўсёды дамяняць вам праз гэта, дарма што вы зналыя і ўмацаваныя ў цяперашняй праўдзе.

And it is only right that I should keep on reminding you as long as I live.d

Бо я маю за справядлівае, пакуль я ў гэтым будане, надбіць вас дамяняньням,

For our Lord Jesus Christ has shown me that I must soon leave this earthly life,e

Ведаючы, што я ўборзьдзе маю пакінуць будан свой, як і Спадар наш Ісус Хрыстос паказаў імне.

so I will work hard to make sure you always remember these things after I am gone.

Але я ўлягу, каб просьле майго адходу вы таксама заўсёды прыпаміналі гэта.

For we were not making up clever stories when we told you about the powerful coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. We saw his majestic splendor with our own eyes

Бо мы абясьцілі вам сілу й прыход Спадара нашага Ісуса Хрыста, ня йдучы за хітра выдуманымі байкамі, але былі вочнікамі Ягонае вялікасьці.

when he received honor and glory from God the Father. The voice from the majestic glory of God said to him, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.”f

Бо Ён прыняў ад Бога Айца чэсьць а славу, як прышоў яму такі голас ад дасканальнае славы: «Гэта Сын Мой умілаваны, Каторага Я ўпадабаў».

We ourselves heard that voice from heaven when we were with him on the holy mountain.

І гэты голас, прышлы зь нябёс, мы чулі, будучы зь Ім на сьвятой гары.

Because of that experience, we have even greater confidence in the message proclaimed by the prophets. You must pay close attention to what they wrote, for their words are like a lamp shining in a dark place — until the Day dawns, and Christ the Morning Star shinesg in your hearts.

Ды мы маем найпэўнейшае прароцкае слова, і вы добра робіце, што зварачаецеся да яго, як да лянпы, што зьзяе ў цемным месцу аж да сьвітаньня і ўсходу дзяньніцы ў сэрцах вашых,

Above all, you must realize that no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet’s own understanding,h

Ведаючы наўперад, што ніякае прароцтва Пісьма не залежа ад собскага выкладу.

or from human initiative. No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God.

Бо ніколі прароцтва ня было вымаўлена воляю людзкою, але вы маўлялі яго сьвятыя людзі Божыя, несеныя Духам Сьвятым.
