This is a record of the ancestors of Jesus the Messiah, a descendant of David and of Abrahama:

Книга родства Иисуса Христа, сына давидова, сына авраамля.

Abraham was the father of Isaac. Isaac was the father of Jacob. Jacob was the father of Judah and his brothers.

Авраам роди исаака. Исаак же роди иакова. Иаков же роди иуду и братию его.

Judah was the father of Perez and Zerah (whose mother was Tamar). Perez was the father of Hezron. Hezron was the father of Ram.b

Иуда же роди фареса и зару от фамары. Фарес же роди есрома. Есром же роди арама.

Ram was the father of Amminadab. Amminadab was the father of Nahshon. Nahshon was the father of Salmon.

Арам же роди аминадава. Аминадав же роди наассона. Наассон же роди салмона.

Salmon was the father of Boaz (whose mother was Rahab). Boaz was the father of Obed (whose mother was Ruth). Obed was the father of Jesse.

Салмон же роди вооза от рахавы. Вооз же роди овида от руфы. Овид же роди иессеа.

Jesse was the father of King David. David was the father of Solomon (whose mother was Bathsheba, the widow of Uriah).

Иессей же роди давида царя. Давид же царь роди соломона от уриины.

Solomon was the father of Rehoboam. Rehoboam was the father of Abijah. Abijah was the father of Asa.c

Соломон же роди ровоама. Ровоам же роди авию. Авиа же роди асу.

Asa was the father of Jehoshaphat. Jehoshaphat was the father of Jehoram.d Jehoram was the fathere of Uzziah.

Аса же роди иосафата. Иосафат же роди иорама. Иорам же роди озию.

Uzziah was the father of Jotham. Jotham was the father of Ahaz. Ahaz was the father of Hezekiah.

Озиа же роди иоафама. Иоафам же роди ахаза. Ахаз же роди езекию.

Hezekiah was the father of Manasseh. Manasseh was the father of Amon.f Amon was the father of Josiah.

Езекиа же роди манассию. Манассиа же роди амона. Амон же роди иосию.

Josiah was the father of Jehoiaching and his brothers (born at the time of the exile to Babylon).

Иосиа же роди иехонию и братию его, в преселение вавилонское (В некиих греч.: иосиа же роди иоакима и братию его. Иоаким же роди иехонию в преселение вавилонское.) .

After the Babylonian exile: Jehoiachin was the father of Shealtiel. Shealtiel was the father of Zerubbabel.

По преселении же вавилонстем, иехониа роди салафииля. Салафииль же роди зоровавеля.

Zerubbabel was the father of Abiud. Abiud was the father of Eliakim. Eliakim was the father of Azor.

Зоровавель же роди авиуда. Авиуд же роди елиакима. Елиаким же роди азора.

Azor was the father of Zadok. Zadok was the father of Akim. Akim was the father of Eliud.

Азор же роди садока. Садок же роди ахима. Ахим же роди елиуда.

Eliud was the father of Eleazar. Eleazar was the father of Matthan. Matthan was the father of Jacob.

Елиуд же роди елеазара. Елеазар же роди матфана. Матфан же роди иакова.

Jacob was the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary. Mary gave birth to Jesus, who is called the Messiah.

Иаков же роди иосифа, мужа Мариина, из неяже родися Иисус, глаголемый Христос.

All those listed above include fourteen generations from Abraham to David, fourteen from David to the Babylonian exile, and fourteen from the Babylonian exile to the Messiah.

Всех же родов от авраама до давида родове четыренадесяте: и от давида до преселения вавилонскаго родове четыренадесяте: и от преселения вавилонскаго до Христа родове четыренадесяте.

This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Иисус Христово Рождество сице бе: обрученней бо бывши Матери его Марии иосифови, прежде даже не снитися има, обретеся имущи во чреве от Духа свята.

Joseph, to whom she was engaged, was a righteous man and did not want to disgrace her publicly, so he decided to break the engagementh quietly.

Иосиф же муж ея, праведен сый и не хотя ея обличити, восхоте тай пустити ю.

As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. “Joseph, son of David,” the angel said, “do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit.

Сия же ему помыслившу, се, ангел Господень во сне явися ему, глаголя: иосифе, сыне давидов, не убойся прияти Мариам жены твоея: рождшеебося в ней, от Духа есть свята:

And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus,i for he will save his people from their sins.”

родит же сына, и наречеши имя ему Иисус: той бо спасет люди своя от грех их.

All of this occurred to fulfill the Lord’s message through his prophet:

Сие же все бысть, да сбудется реченное от Господа пророком, глаголющим:

“Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel,j which means ‘God is with us.’”

се, Дева во чреве приимет и родит сына, и нарекут имя ему еммануил, еже есть сказаемо: с нами Бог.

When Joseph woke up, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded and took Mary as his wife.

Востав же иосиф от сна, сотвори якоже повеле ему ангел Господень, и прият жену свою,

But he did not have sexual relations with her until her son was born. And Joseph named him Jesus.

и не знаяше ея, дондеже роди сына своего первенца, и нарече имя ему Иисус.
