This is a record of the ancestors of Jesus the Messiah, a descendant of David and of Abrahama:

Кни́га родства̀ ї҆и҃са хр҇та̀, сн҃а дв҃дова, сн҃а а҆враа́млѧ.

Abraham was the father of Isaac. Isaac was the father of Jacob. Jacob was the father of Judah and his brothers.

А҆враа́мъ родѝ ї҆саа́ка. Ї҆саа́къ же родѝ ї҆а́кова. Ї҆а́ковъ же родѝ ї҆ѹ́дѹ и҆ бра́тїю є҆гѡ̀.

Judah was the father of Perez and Zerah (whose mother was Tamar). Perez was the father of Hezron. Hezron was the father of Ram.b

Ї҆ѹ́да же родѝ фаре́са и҆ за́рѹ ѿ ѳама́ры. Фаре́съ же родѝ є҆сро́ма. Є҆сро́мъ же родѝ а҆ра́ма.

Ram was the father of Amminadab. Amminadab was the father of Nahshon. Nahshon was the father of Salmon.

А҆ра́мъ же родѝ а҆мїнада́ва. А҆мїнада́въ же родѝ наассѡ́на. Наассѡ́нъ же родѝ салмѡ́на.

Salmon was the father of Boaz (whose mother was Rahab). Boaz was the father of Obed (whose mother was Ruth). Obed was the father of Jesse.

Салмѡ́нъ же родѝ воо́за ѿ раха́вы. Воо́зъ же родѝ ѡ҆ви́да ѿ рѹ́ѳы. Ѡ҆ви́дъ же родѝ ї҆ессе́а.

Jesse was the father of King David. David was the father of Solomon (whose mother was Bathsheba, the widow of Uriah).

Ї҆ессе́й же родѝ дв҃да царѧ̀. Дв҃дъ же ца́рь родѝ соломѡ́на ѿ ѹ҆рі́ины.

Solomon was the father of Rehoboam. Rehoboam was the father of Abijah. Abijah was the father of Asa.c

Соломѡ́нъ же родѝ ровоа́ма. Ровоа́мъ же родѝ а҆ві́ю. А҆ві́а же родѝ а҆́сѹ.

Asa was the father of Jehoshaphat. Jehoshaphat was the father of Jehoram.d Jehoram was the fathere of Uzziah.

А҆́са же родѝ ї҆ѡсафа́та. Ї҆ѡсафа́тъ же родѝ ї҆ѡра́ма. Ї҆ѡра́мъ же родѝ ѻ҆зі́ю.

Uzziah was the father of Jotham. Jotham was the father of Ahaz. Ahaz was the father of Hezekiah.

Ѻ҆зі́а же родѝ ї҆ѡаѳа́ма. Ї҆ѡаѳа́мъ же родѝ а҆ха́за. А҆ха́зъ же родѝ є҆зекі́ю.

Hezekiah was the father of Manasseh. Manasseh was the father of Amon.f Amon was the father of Josiah.

Є҆зекі́а же родѝ манассі́ю. Манассі́а же родѝ а҆мѡ́на. А҆мѡ́нъ же родѝ ї҆ѡсі́ю.

Josiah was the father of Jehoiaching and his brothers (born at the time of the exile to Babylon).

Ї҆ѡсі́а же родѝ ї҆ехо́нїю и҆ бра́тїю є҆гѡ̀, въ преселе́нїе вавѷлѡ́нское {Ст. 11 въ нѣ́кїихъ гре́ч.: ї҆ѡсі́а же родѝ ї҆ѡакі́ма и҆ бра́тїю є҆гѡ̀. Ї҆ѡакі́мъ же родѝ ї҆ехо́нїю въ преселе́нїе вавѷлѡ́нское.}.

After the Babylonian exile: Jehoiachin was the father of Shealtiel. Shealtiel was the father of Zerubbabel.

По преселе́нїи же вавѷлѡ́нстѣмъ, ї҆ехо́нїа родѝ салаѳі́илѧ. Салаѳі́иль же родѝ зорова́велѧ.

Zerubbabel was the father of Abiud. Abiud was the father of Eliakim. Eliakim was the father of Azor.

Зорова́вель же родѝ а҆вїѹ́да. А҆вїѹ́дъ же родѝ є҆лїакі́ма. Є҆лїакі́мъ же родѝ а҆зѡ́ра.

Azor was the father of Zadok. Zadok was the father of Akim. Akim was the father of Eliud.

А҆зѡ́ръ же родѝ садѡ́ка. Садѡ́къ же родѝ а҆хі́ма. А҆хі́мъ же родѝ є҆лїѹ́да.

Eliud was the father of Eleazar. Eleazar was the father of Matthan. Matthan was the father of Jacob.

Є҆лїѹ́дъ же родѝ є҆леаза́ра. Є҆леаза́ръ же родѝ матѳа́на. Матѳа́нъ же родѝ ї҆а́кѡва.

Jacob was the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary. Mary gave birth to Jesus, who is called the Messiah.

Ї҆а́кѡвъ же родѝ ї҆ѡ́сифа, мѹ́жа мр҃і́ина, и҆з̾ неѧ́же роди́сѧ ї҆и҃съ, глаго́лемый хр҇то́съ.

All those listed above include fourteen generations from Abraham to David, fourteen from David to the Babylonian exile, and fourteen from the Babylonian exile to the Messiah.

Всѣ́хъ же родѡ́въ ѿ а҆враа́ма до дв҃да ро́дове четырена́десѧте: и҆ ѿ дв҃да до преселе́нїѧ вавѷлѡ́нскаго ро́дове четырена́десѧте: и҆ ѿ преселе́нїѧ вавѷлѡ́нскаго до хр҇та̀ ро́дове четырена́десѧте.

This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit.

(За҄ 2.) Ї҆и҃съ хр҇то́во рж҇тво̀ си́це бѣ̀: ѡ҆брѹче́ннѣй бо бы́вши мт҃ри є҆гѡ̀ мр҃і́и ї҆ѡ́сифови, пре́жде да́же не сни́тисѧ и҆́ма, ѡ҆брѣ́тесѧ и҆мѹ́щи во чре́вѣ ѿ дх҃а ст҃а.

Joseph, to whom she was engaged, was a righteous man and did not want to disgrace her publicly, so he decided to break the engagementh quietly.

Ї҆ѡ́сифъ же мѹ́жъ є҆ѧ̀, првднъ сы́й и҆ не хотѧ̀ є҆ѧ̀ ѡ҆бличи́ти, восхотѣ̀ та́й пѹсти́ти ю҆̀.

As he considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. “Joseph, son of David,” the angel said, “do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife. For the child within her was conceived by the Holy Spirit.

Сїѧ҄ же є҆мѹ̀ помы́слившѹ, сѐ, а҆́гг҃лъ гд҇ень во снѣ̀ ѩ҆ви́сѧ є҆мѹ̀, глаго́лѧ: ї҆ѡ́сифе, сы́не дв҃довъ, не ѹ҆бо́йсѧ прїѧ́ти мр҃їа́мъ жены̀ твоеѧ̀: ро́ждшеебосѧ въ не́й, ѿ дх҃а є҆́сть ст҃а:

And she will have a son, and you are to name him Jesus,i for he will save his people from their sins.”

роди́тъ же сн҃а, и҆ нарече́ши и҆́мѧ є҆мѹ̀ ї҆и҃съ: то́й бо сп҃се́тъ лю́ди своѧ҄ ѿ грѣ҄хъ и҆́хъ.

All of this occurred to fulfill the Lord’s message through his prophet:

Сїе́ же всѐ бы́сть, да сбѹ́детсѧ рече́нное ѿ гд҇а про҇ро́комъ, глаго́лющимъ:

“Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel,j which means ‘God is with us.’”

сѐ, дв҃а во чре́вѣ прїи́метъ и҆ роди́тъ сн҃а, и҆ нарекѹ́тъ и҆́мѧ є҆мѹ̀ є҆мманѹ́илъ, є҆́же є҆́сть сказа́емо: съ на́ми бг҃ъ.

When Joseph woke up, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded and took Mary as his wife.

Воста́въ же ї҆ѡ́сифъ ѿ сна̀, сотворѝ ѩ҆́коже повелѣ̀ є҆мѹ̀ а҆́гг҃лъ гд҇ень, и҆ прїѧ́тъ женѹ̀ свою̀,

But he did not have sexual relations with her until her son was born. And Joseph named him Jesus.

и҆ не зна́ѧше є҆ѧ̀, до́ндеже родѝ сн҃а своего̀ пе́рвенца, и҆ наречѐ и҆́мѧ є҆мѹ̀ ї҆и҃съ.
