We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning,a whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life.

Слово, дарующее жизнь! Он существовал от начала. Мы слышали Его, мы видели Его собственными глазами, мы созерцали Его, и руки наши касались Его!

This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life. He was with the Father, and then he was revealed to us.

Явилась жизнь, и мы видели Её. Об этом мы свидетельствуем, и возвещаем вам — о вечной жизни! Он находился с Отцом, и явил Себя нам.

We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.

Увиденное и услышанное мы возвещаем вам; чтобы и вы имели общение с нами. Общение же наше с Отцом, и с Сыном, Мессией Иисусом.

We are writing these things so that you may fully share our joy.b

Мы пишем вам обо всём этом, чтобы радость ваша была совершенной.

This is the message we heard from Jesusc and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.

И вот послание, услышанное нами от него и провозглашаемое вам: Бог — это свет, и нет в Нём никакой тьмы — никакой!

So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth.

Если же мы говорим, что имеем общение с Ним, тогда как сами ходим во тьме, то мы лжём, и не поступаем по истине.

But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

Если же мы ходим в свете, как и Он в свете, тогда имеем общение друг с другом, и кровь Его Сына Иисуса очищает нас от всякого греха.

If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth.

Если мы утверждаем, что в нас нет греха, мы обманываем самих себя, и истины нет в нас.

But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

Если же признаём свои грехи, тогда Он, будучи верен и справедлив, простит их и очистит нас от всех злых дел.

If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.

Если мы утверждаем, что не согрешили, то представляем Его лживым, и Его Слова нет в нас.
