We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning,a whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life.

То, что было от начала, что мы услышали, что мы увидели глазами своими, что мы рассматривали и что ощущали руки наши — о Слове жизни

This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life. He was with the Father, and then he was revealed to us.

[и жизнь была явлена, и мы видели, и мы свидетельствуем и возвещаем вам жизнь вечную — ту, которая была у Отца и была явлена нам] —

We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.

то, что мы увидели, и услышали, возвещаем и вам, чтобы вы были приобщены к нам — мы же приобщены к Отцу, и Сыну Его, Иисусу Христу.

We are writing these things so that you may fully share our joy.b

И это пишем мы, чтобы радость наша наполнилась.

This is the message we heard from Jesusc and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.

И вот весть, которую мы услышали от Него и возвещаем вам — что Бог есть свет и тьмы в Нем нет никакой.

So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth.

Если говорим, что приобщены к Нему и во тьме ходим — лжем и не творим истину;

But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

если же во свете мы ходим, как Он во свете — взаимно приобщены, и кровь Иисуса, Сына Его очищает нас от всякого греха.

If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth.

Если говорим, что греха не имеем — самих себя вводим в заблуждение, и истины нет в нас.

But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

Если признаём грехи наши — есть Верный и Праведный — чтобы простил нам грехи и очистил нас от всякой неправедности.

If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.

Если говорим, что не согрешили — лжецом делаем Его, и Слова Его нет в нас.
