1 John

We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning,a whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life.

О том, что было сначала, что мы слышали, что видели своими глазами, на что мы взирали, к чему прикасались наши руки, — возвещаем о Слове жизни.

This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life. He was with the Father, and then he was revealed to us.

Явилась жизнь, и мы, очевидцы и свидетели, возвещаем вам эту жизнь — жизнь вечную. Она была с Отцом и явилась нам.

We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.

О том, что мы видели и слышали, вам возвещаем, чтобы у вас была с нами общая привязанность. Отец и Его Сын Иисус Христос — вот наша привязанность.

We are writing these things so that you may fully share our joy.b

Об этом пишем — пишем о нашей большой радости.

This is the message we heard from Jesusc and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.

Вот что мы узнали от Него и вам возвещаем: Бог есть свет и нет в Нем никакой тьмы.

So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth.

Если говорим о нашей к Нему привязанности, а сами остаемся во тьме, то лжем и поступаем вопреки правде.

But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

А если наша жизнь светла светом, а Он-то и есть Cвет, значит, у нас есть эта общая привязанность. От всякого греха нас очищает Кровь Иисуса, Сына Божьего.

If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth.

Если скажем, что греха за собой не знаем, — себя обманываем и в нас нет истины.

But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

Если согласимся, что мы грешны, — Он простит нам грехи, потому что Сам верен и праведен, и очистит от всякой неправды.

If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.

Если скажем, что мы не грешили — значит выставим Его лжецом и Его Слово в нас не присутствует.
