This letter is from Paul, an apostle. I was not appointed by any group of people or any human authority, but by Jesus Christ himself and by God the Father, who raised Jesus from the dead.

All the brothers and sistersa here join me in sending this letter to the churches of Galatia.

обращается с письмом от себя и от всех братьев, что со мною, к церквам галатийским.

May God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christb give you grace and peace.

Благодать вам и мир от Бога, Отца нашего, и Господа Иисуса Христа.

Jesus gave his life for our sins, just as God our Father planned, in order to rescue us from this evil world in which we live.

Он пожертвовал Собой за грехи наши, чтобы избавить нас от злого мира, в котором мы живём. Этого возжелал Бог, Отец наш.

All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.

Слава Ему во веки веков. Аминь.

I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who called you to himself through the loving mercy of Christ.c You are following a different way that pretends to be the Good News

Я удивлён, что вы так быстро отвернулись от Него, призвавшего вас благодатью Христовой, и обратились к иному благовестию,

but is not the Good News at all. You are being fooled by those who deliberately twist the truth concerning Christ.

которое на самом деле вовсе не иное благовестие. Но некоторые смущают вас, пытаясь извратить благовестие Христово.

Let God’s curse fall on anyone, including us or even an angel from heaven, who preaches a different kind of Good News than the one we preached to you.

Но даже, если мы или посланец с небес станем проповедовать вам благовестие Божье, отличное от того, что мы благовествовали вам, то пусть будет тот проклят.

I say again what we have said before: If anyone preaches any other Good News than the one you welcomed, let that person be cursed.

Мы говорили это раньше, и теперь я снова повторяю это: если кто станет благовествовать иное, чем то, что мы благовествовали вам, то пусть будет он проклят.

Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.

У людей ли я ищу одобрения или у Бога? Людям ли стараюсь угодить? Если бы я старался угодить людям, то не был бы слугой Христовым.

Dear brothers and sisters, I want you to understand that the gospel message I preach is not based on mere human reasoning.

Братья, я хочу, чтобы вы знали, что Евангелие, которое я благовествовал, — послание не от людей, и я принял его не от людей, и не человек научил меня ему,

I received my message from no human source, and no one taught me. Instead, I received it by direct revelation from Jesus Christ.d

You know what I was like when I followed the Jewish religion — how I violently persecuted God’s church. I did my best to destroy it.

Вы слышали о моём прежнем образе жизни в иудействе, и знаете, что я жестоко преследовал церковь Божью и пытался уничтожить её.

I was far ahead of my fellow Jews in my zeal for the traditions of my ancestors.

В исповедании иудейской религии я был впереди многих сотоварищей — иудеев моего возраста, ибо я был весьма предан учению, переданному мне от моих предков.

But even before I was born, God chose me and called me by his marvelous grace. Then it pleased him

И когда Он решил избрать меня ещё до того, как я родился,

to reveal his Son to mee so that I would proclaim the Good News about Jesus to the Gentiles. When this happened, I did not rush out to consult with any human being.f

то по благодати Своей призвал меня, чтобы открыть мне Сына Своего, чтобы я тотчас же начал благовествовать о Нём среди язычников. Я не стал советоваться ни с кем из людей

Nor did I go up to Jerusalem to consult with those who were apostles before I was. Instead, I went away into Arabia, and later I returned to the city of Damascus.

и не пошёл в Иерусалим к тем Апостолам, кто был до меня. Вместо этого я пошёл в Аравию, а затем вернулся в Дамаск.

Then three years later I went to Jerusalem to get to know Peter,g and I stayed with him for fifteen days.

The only other apostle I met at that time was James, the Lord’s brother.

I declare before God that what I am writing to you is not a lie.

After that visit I went north into the provinces of Syria and Cilicia.

Затем я отправился в Сирию и Киликию.

And still the churches in Christ that are in Judea didn’t know me personally.

Но церквам в Иудее, которые во Христе, я не был лично известен.

All they knew was that people were saying, “The one who used to persecute us is now preaching the very faith he tried to destroy!”

And they praised God because of me.

И они восславили Бога за меня.
