Дети, повинуйтесь в Господе своим родителям, ибо это праведно.

Children, obey your parents because you belong to the Lord,a for this is the right thing to do.

«Почитай отца и мать — это первая заповедь с обещанием, —

“Honor your father and mother.” This is the first commandment with a promise:

чтобы тебе было хорошо и ты жил долго на земле».

If you honor your father and mother, “things will go well for you, and you will have a long life on the earth.”b

И вы, отцы, не провоцируйте своих детей на гнев, но воспитывайте их в учении и наставлении Господнем.

Fathers,c do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.

Рабы, повинуйтесь земным господам со страхом и трепетом, с искренним сердцем, как Христу,

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ.

не с показной услужливостью, как подхалимы, но как рабы Христовы, исполняя волю Божию от души,

Try to please them all the time, not just when they are watching you. As slaves of Christ, do the will of God with all your heart.

охотно служа, как Господу, а не как людям,

Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.

зная, что каждый, что бы доброе он ни сделал, получит это в воздаяние от Господа, будь то раб, будь то свободный.

Remember that the Lord will reward each one of us for the good we do, whether we are slaves or free.

И вы, господа, поступайте с ними так же, отложив угрозы, зная, что и у них, и у вас есть Господин на небесах, и Он никому не оказывает предпочтения.

Masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Don’t threaten them; remember, you both have the same Master in heaven, and he has no favorites.

Наконец, укрепляйтесь в Господе и в могуществе силы Его.

A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

Наденьте полное вооруженье Божие, чтобы вы могли выстоять против козней дьявола,

Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.

потому что наша битва не против крови и плоти, но против начал, против властей, против повелителей этого мира тьмы, против злых духовных сил в небесных сферах.

For wed are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

Поэтому возьмите полное вооруженье Божие, чтобы вы могли противостать в день злой и, всё преодолев, выстоять.

Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.

Итак стойте, опоясав себя истиной, и облекшись в панцирь праведности,

Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness.

и обув ноги в готовность нести благую весть о мире,

For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared.e

в любой ситуации беря щит веры, которым вы сможете погасить все воспламенённые стрелы лукавого;

In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil.f

и шлем спасения возьмите, и меч Духа, то есть слово Бога,

Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

всякой молитвой и прошением молясь во всякое время, движимые Духом, и для этого бодрствуя со всяким постоянством в прошении обо всех святых

Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.g

и обо мне, чтобы мне дано было слово, когда я говорю, бесстрашно открывать тайну благой вести,

And pray for me, too. Ask God to give me the right words so I can boldly explain God’s mysterious plan that the Good News is for Jews and Gentiles alike.h

ради которой я являюсь послом в цепях, чтобы при этом я бесстрашно говорил, как мне должно.

I am in chains now, still preaching this message as God’s ambassador. So pray that I will keep on speaking boldly for him, as I should.

А чтобы и вы знали о моих обстоятельствах, что я делаю, всё расскажет вам Тихик, возлюбленный брат и верный служитель в Господе,

To bring you up to date, Tychicus will give you a full report about what I am doing and how I am getting along. He is a beloved brother and faithful helper in the Lord’s work.

которого я послал к вам именно для того, чтобы вы узнали о наших обстоятельствах, и чтобы он ободрил сердца ваши.

I have sent him to you for this very purpose — to let you know how we are doing and to encourage you.

Мир братьям и любовь вместе с верой от Бога Отца и Господа Иисуса Христа.

Peace be with you, dear brothers and sisters,i and may God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you love with faithfulness.

Благодать со всеми любящими Господа нашего Иисуса Христа нетленной любовью.

May God’s grace be eternally upon all who love our Lord Jesus Christ.
