Я, Павел, апостол Иисуса, Помазанника, по воле Бога, и брат Тимофей —

This letter is from Paul, chosen by the will of God to be an apostle of Christ Jesus, and from our brother Timothy.

Святым и верным братьям во Христе в Колоссе: Милость вам и мир от Бога, нашего Отца.

We are writing to God’s holy people in the city of Colosse, who are faithful brothers and sistersa in Christ. May God our Father give you grace and peace.

Мы всегда благодарим Бога, Отца нашего Господа Иисуса Христа, когда молимся о вас,

We always pray for you, and we give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Поскольку слышали о вашей вере в Иисусе Христе и о любви, которую испытываете ко всем святым

For we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and your love for all of God’s people,

благодаря надежде, сберегаемой для вас на небесах, о которой вы слышали прежде в словах истины благой вести,

which come from your confident hope of what God has reserved for you in heaven. You have had this expectation ever since you first heard the truth of the Good News.

Которая дошла до вас и которая приносит плод и распространяется во всем мире, как и у вас, с того дня как вы услышали и распознали в истине Божью милость.

This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives, just as it changed your lives from the day you first heard and understood the truth about God’s wonderful grace.

Этому вы научились от Эпафра, нашего дорогого сораба, преданного слуги Христа ради нас,

You learned about the Good News from Epaphras, our beloved co-worker. He is Christ’s faithful servant, and he is helping us on your behalf.b

Который и известил нас о вашей любви, проявляемой в духе,

He has told us about the love for others that the Holy Spirit has given you.

Вот почему и мы с того дня, как услышали об этом, не перестаем молиться за вас и просить, чтобы вы исполнились полным знанием Его воли во всей мудрости и духовном понимании,

So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding.

Чтобы поступать достойно Господа для угождения Ему во всем, принося плод во всяком добром деле, возрастая в полном знании Бога,

Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better.

вооружаясь всей силой сообразно Его славному могуществу, для долготерпения и вежливости, с радостью

We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy,c

выражая благодарность Отцу, сделавшему нас пригодными для участия в наследстве святых во свете,

always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light.

Который избавил нас от господства тьмы и перенес в царство Своего любимого Сына.

For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son,

Через Него у нас есть освобождение выкупом, прощение грехов

who purchased our freedomd and forgave our sins. Christ Is Supreme

Он — образ невидимого Бога, Первенец в отношении всего творения.

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation,e

Потому что благодаря Ему было сотворено всё-всё: на небесах и на земле, зримое и незримое, будь то престолы, господства, правительства или власти — всё было сотворено через Него и для Него.

for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see — such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him.

И Он есть прежде всего, и всё начало существовать через Него,

He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together.

И Он — Голова Тела, церкви. Он — начало, Первенец из мертвых, чтобы Ему во всем иметь первенство;

Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead.f So he is first in everything.

Потому что угодно было, чтобы в Нем обитала вся полнота,

For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ,

И через Него примирить с Собой все — что на земле и что на небесах, — заключив мир посредством пролитой крови Его на кресте.

and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.

И вас, некогда отчужденных и врагов из-за того, что ваши умы были обращены к злым делам,

This includes you who were once far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions.

Он теперь примирил посредством Его плотского тела через Его смерть, чтобы вы предстали перед Ним святыми, непорочными и безукоризненными,

Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.

Если, конечно, вы остаетесь в вере, утвержденные на основании и непоколебимые, и вас не относит от надежды благой вести, которую вы слышали и которая проповедана среди всего творения под небом, служителем которой стал я, Павел.

But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News. The Good News has been preached all over the world, and I, Paul, have been appointed as God’s servant to proclaim it.

Теперь я радуюсь в своих страданиях ради вас и прохожу через физические страдания Христа до полной меры, ради Его Тела, то есть церкви,

I am glad when I suffer for you in my body, for I am participating in the sufferings of Christ that continue for his body, the church.

Служителем которой я стал, в согласии с обязанностями Божьего управляющего, которые возложены на меня ради вашего блага, чтобы донести Слово Бога в полной мере,

God has given me the responsibility of serving his church by proclaiming his entire message to you.

Священную тайну, которая была скрыта из века в век и из поколения в поколение. А теперь она явлена его святым,

This message was kept secret for centuries and generations past, but now it has been revealed to God’s people.

Которым Бог пожелал открыть, в чем заключается славное богатство этой священной тайны, среди остальных народов, которая — Христос в союзе с вами, надежда на Его славу,

For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory.

О котором мы возвещаем, увещая всякого человека и уча любого из людей со всей мудростью, чтобы представить каждого зрелым в союзе с Христом.

So we tell others about Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all the wisdom God has given us. We want to present them to God, perfectg in their relationship to Christ.

Ради этого я и тружусь, и борюсь, применяя и полагаясь на Его силу, действующую во мне.

That’s why I work and struggle so hard, depending on Christ’s mighty power that works within me.
