Павел, раб Христа Иисуса, призванный апостол, Богом востребованный на возвещение прекрасной вести.

This letter is from Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus, chosen by God to be an apostle and sent out to preach his Good News.

Эта весть, издревле обещанная Богом в святых Писаниях через Его пророков, —

God promised this Good News long ago through his prophets in the holy Scriptures.

Весть о Его Сыне. По естеству рождения Он потомок Давида,

The Good News is about his Son. In his earthly life he was born into King David’s family line,

А по Духу, в силу святости, — правомочный Сын Божий Иисус Христос, наш Господь, воскресший из мертвых.

and he was shown to bea the Son of God when he was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit.b He is Jesus Christ our Lord.

Он поручил мне благое дело апостольское: Его именем покорить вере все народы.

Through Christ, God has given us the privilegec and authority as apostles to tell Gentiles everywhere what God has done for them, so that they will believe and obey him, bringing glory to his name.

И вас я могу тут назвать в числе тех, кто уже услышал зов Иисуса Христа.

And you are included among those Gentiles who have been called to belong to Jesus Christ.

Всем в Риме любимым детям Божьим, призванному святому народу: милость вам и мир от Бога Отца нашего и Господа Иисуса Христа!

I am writing to all of you in Rome who are loved by God and are called to be his own holy people. May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace.

Прежде всего благодарю Бога моего через Иисуса Христа за всех вас. Вера ваша уже дает знать о себе повсюду в мире.

Let me say first that I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith in him is being talked about all over the world.

Свидетель мне Бог, которому всеми силами служу, неся прекрасную весть о Его Сыне: не перестаю помнить о вас.

God knows how often I pray for you. Day and night I bring you and your needs in prayer to God, whom I serve with all my heartd by spreading the Good News about his Son.

Всегда в молитве прошу, чтобы мне по Божьей воле посчастливилось наконец навестить вас.

One of the things I always pray for is the opportunity, God willing, to come at last to see you.

Очень хочу повидаться с вами, разделить с вами в пользу вашего возмужания духовный дар —

For I long to visit you so I can bring you some spiritual gift that will help you grow strong in the Lord.

Взаимное прибавление сил в нашей общей вере, вашей и моей.

When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours.

Не хочу, братья, держать от вас в тайне, что я, до этого самого дня стесненный преградами, не раз собирался прийти к вам и позаботиться о созревании плода и у вас, как у других народов.

I want you to know, dear brothers and sisters,e that I planned many times to visit you, but I was prevented until now. I want to work among you and see spiritual fruit, just as I have seen among other Gentiles.

Я в долгу перед эллинами и варварами, мудрыми и умом невеликими.

For I have a great sense of obligation to people in both the civilized world and the rest of the world,f to the educated and uneducated alike.

Короче говоря, римляне, я решительно настроен идти с этой вестью наконец и к вам.

So I am eager to come to you in Rome, too, to preach the Good News.

Не стыжусь евангелия. В нем Божья сила — спасение верующего: прежде всего иудея, следом и эллина.

For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes — the Jew first and also the Gentile.g

В нем и откровение: Божья правда дается за веру и только за веру. Написано: «Праведен, у кого вера. Он будет жить».

This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”h

Отворяется Божий гнев с неба на всякое зло и неправду людей, заслоняющих неправдой истину.

But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness.i

А между тем им не нужно далеко ходить, чтобы знать о Боге: Бог Сам дал им это знание.

They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them.

Постижение Его незримых свойств — вечной силы и Божественной сущности — от создания мира дается через восприятие творений. Вот и нет у них оправдания.

For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities — his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.

Познав Бога, они не стали прославлять Его как Бога, благодарения не воздали, а вместо этого забили себе голову пустыми идеями. Так их непонятливый ум погрузился во тьму.

Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused.

Выставляя себя мудрецами, дошли до глупости

Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools.

И славу бессмертного Бога променяли на идолов — подобия смертного человека, птиц, зверей, пресмыкающихся.

And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles.

Вот Бог и погрузил их в грязь вожделенную на осквернение собственных тел.

So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies.

Божью истину они подменили обманом и поклонялись и служили предмету творения, а не Творцу, благословенному вовеки. Аминь.

They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen.

За это Бог погрузил их в скверну страстей: женщины заменили естественное влечение противоестественным.

That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other.

Наравне с ними и мужчины, пренебрегая естественным влечением к женщине, обратили воспаленную похоть друг на друга и мужчины с мужчинами творили срам, в самих себе получая за свое бесчинство должное возмездие.

And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved.

Они отвергли мысль о познании Бога. И тогда Бог погрузил их в состояние поврежденного ума — совершать непотребное.

Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done.

Поэтому им близка всякая неправда, ненависть, зависть, злоба. Им по душе коварство, кровожадность, дрязги и брань, плутовство, мошенничество, сплетни.

Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip.

Они клеветники, богохульники, издевщики, наглецы, хвастуны, смутьяны, неслухи в родительском доме.

They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents.

Они недалеки, вероломны, черствы, немилосердны.

They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy.

Им известно о Божьем порядке, что делать все это — значит обрекать себя на смерть, и все равно не только делают, но и другим потворствуют, кто делает.

They know God’s justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too.
