Старейшина — избранной госпоже и ее детям, которых я люблю в истине, и не только я, но и все, кто знает истину;

The elder to [the] elect lady and her children, whom I love in truth, and not I only but also all who have known the truth,

потому что истина эта живет в нас и будет с нами всегда.

for the truth's sake which abides in us and shall be with us to eternity.

Пусть с вами в истине и любви проявятся благодать, милосердие, мир от Бога Отца и от Иисуса Христа, Его Сына.

Grace shall be with you, mercy, peace from God [the] Father, and from [the] Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

Меня очень радует, что среди твоих детей есть верные истине, заповеданной нам Отцом.

I rejoiced greatly that I have found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received commandment from the Father.

И сейчас, госпожа, я пишу тебе не какую-то новую заповедь, но ту, что была у нас с самого начала: будем любить друг друга.

And now I beseech thee, lady, not as writing to thee a new commandment, but that which we have had from [the] beginning, that we should love one another.

И любовь эта заключается в том, чтобы мы соблюдали Его заповеди. Вы с самого начала слышали Его заповедь, и по ней поступайте.

And this is love, that we should walk according to his commandments. This is the commandment, according as ye have heard from the beginning, that ye might walk in it.

В мире есть много обманщиков, которые не признают, что Иисус Христос пришел в человеческом теле. Все они — обманщики и антихристы.

For many deceivers have gone out into the world, they who do not confess Jesus Christ coming in flesh -- this is the deceiver and the antichrist.

Смотрите, чтобы не потерять то, ради чего потрудились, но чтобы получить полную награду.

See to yourselves, that we may not lose what we have wrought, but may receive full wages.

Кто не живет согласно учению Христа, но идет иным путем, тот не имеет в себе Бога. Но тот, кто остается верным Его учению, имеет в себе и Отца, и Сына.

Whosoever goes forward and abides not in the doctrine of the Christ has not God. He that abides in the doctrine, he has both the Father and the Son.

Если кто-либо приходит к вам и не приносит этого учения, того вы не должны принимать в дом и приветствовать его.

If any one come to you and bring not this doctrine, do not receive him into [the] house, and greet him not;

Кто приветствует такого человека, тот становится соучастником в его злых делах.

for he who greets him partakes in his wicked works.

У меня еще есть многое, о чем я хотел бы вам сказать, но я не хочу делать это на бумаге чернилами. Я надеюсь скоро быть у вас и лично поговорить с вами, чтобы ваша радость была полной.

Having many things to write to you, I would not with paper and ink; but hope to come to you, and to speak mouth to mouth, that our joy may be full.

Привет тебе от детей твоей избранной сестры.

The children of thine elect sister greet thee.
