Однажды в три часа дня Петр и Иоанн шли в храм на молитву.

Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

В это время туда принесли человека, калеку от рождения. Его каждый день оставляли у так называемых Прекрасных ворот, и он просил милостыню у входящих в храм.

And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

Увидев Петра и Иоанна, которые хотели войти в храм, он попросил и у них.

Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.

Петр и Иоанн пристально посмотрели на него, и Петр сказал: — Взгляни на нас!

And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.

Человек поднял глаза, ожидая получить от них что-нибудь.

And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

Но Петр сказал: — Серебра и золота у меня нет, но то, что есть, я даю тебе. Во имя Иисуса Христа из Назарета — встань и ходи!

Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

Он взял его за правую руку, помог подняться, и в тот же миг ступни и голени калеки окрепли.

And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ancle bones received strength.

Он вскочил на ноги и начал ходить! Он вошел с ними в храм, ходил, прыгал и прославлял Бога.

And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

И все люди это видели.

And all the people saw him walking and praising God:

Они узнавали в нем того человека, который сидел и просил милостыню у Прекрасных ворот храма, и удивлялись тому, что с ним произошло.

And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.

Нищий не отходил от Петра и Иоанна, и весь народ в изумлении окружил апостолов в колоннаде храма, которая называлась колоннадой Соломона.

And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering.

Увидев это, Петр обратился к народу: — Израильтяне, почему вас это так удивляет? Почему вы смотрите на нас так, будто это мы своими силами или своей набожностью сделали, что этот человек ходит?

And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?

Бог Aвраама, Исаака и Иакова, Бог наших отцов прославил своего слугу Иисуса, которого вы предали и от которого отреклись перед Пилатом, хотя тот хотел освободить Его.

The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.

Но вы отреклись от Святого и Праведного и выпросили, чтобы вам освободили убийцу.

But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;

Вы убили Создателя жизни! Но Бог воскресил Его из мертвых, и мы этому свидетели.

And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

Имя Иисуса укрепило этого человека, которого вы видите и знаете, потому что он поверил в это имя, и вера, которая дается через Иисуса, совершила исцеление на ваших глазах.

And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

— Братья, я понимаю, что вы и ваши начальники поступили по незнанию.

And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers.

Но именно так Бог исполнил то, что Он предсказывал через всех пророков, когда говорил, что Мессии предстоят страдания.

But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.

— Итак, покайтесь и обратитесь к Богу, чтобы ваши грехи были стерты,

Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

чтобы от Господа пришли времена отрады и чтобы Он послал предназначенного вам Мессию — Иисуса.

And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:

— Но пока не наступит время, когда Бог определил восстановить все и о котором Он давно оповестил через своих святых пророков, Иисус должен оставаться на небесах.

Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

Ведь Моисей сказал: "Господь ваш Бог поставит вам Пророка из ваших братьев, как поставил меня.

For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.

И всякий, кто не послушает того пророка, будет искоренен из народа".

And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

О том же говорили все пророки, начиная от Самуила и тех, кто был после него, они тоже предсказывали эти дни.

Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.

Вы же — наследники пророков и наследники союза, который Бог заключил с вашими отцами. Он говорил Aврааму: "В твоих потомках все жители земли получат благословение".

Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed.

— Когда Бог воскресил своего Слугу, Он прежде всего послал Его к вам, чтобы благословить вас и призвать каждого из вас отвратиться от ваших злых дел.

Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.
