Из Иудеи в Aнтиохию пришли люди, которые стали учить братьев: — Если вы не будете обрезаны по обычаю, установленному Моисеем, вы не можете быть спасены.

And certain men came down from Judea and taught the brethren, “Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.”

Это привело к разногласиям и горячему спору между ними с одной стороны, и Павлом и Варнавой — с другой. Тогда Павлу и Варнаве поручили пойти вместе с несколькими другими верующими в Иерусалим и обсудить этот вопрос с апостолами и старейшинами.

Therefore, when Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and dispute with them, they determined that Paul and Barnabas and certain others of them should go up to Jerusalem, to the apostles and elders, about this question.

Отправившись по поручению церкви в путь, они проходили через Финикию и Самарию, рассказывая там об обращении язычников. Эта весть вызывала у всех верующих большую радость.

So, being sent on their way by the church, they passed through Phoenicia and Samaria, describing the conversion of the Gentiles; and they caused great joy to all the brethren.

В Иерусалиме они были приняты членами церкви, апостолами и старейшинами, и прибывшие рассказали им обо всем, что Бог совершил с ними.

And when they had come to Jerusalem, they were received by the church and the apostles and the elders; and they reported all things that God had done with them.

Верующие, принадлежавшие к партии фарисеев, говорили, что язычников следует обрезывать и требовать от них соблюдения закона Моисея.

But some of the sect of the Pharisees who believed rose up, saying, “It is necessary to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.”

Aпостолы и старейшины собрались, чтобы рассмотреть этот вопрос.

Now the apostles and elders came together to consider this matter.

После долгих обсуждений Петр поднялся и сказал: — Братья, вы знаете, что с самого начала Бог выбрал среди вас меня проповедовать слово Евангелия язычникам, чтобы они уверовали.

And when there had been much dispute, Peter rose up and said to them: “Men and brethren, you know that a good while ago God chose among us, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe.

Бог знает сердца людей, и Он дал уверовавшим язычникам свидетельство, даровав им Духа Святого так же, как и нам.

So God, who knows the heart, [a]acknowledged them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He did to us,

Он не делает никакой разницы между нами и ними, потому что Он верой очистил их сердца!

and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

Так зачем же вы испытываете Бога, возлагая на шеи учеников бремя, которое не в состоянии были нести ни наши отцы, ни мы?

Now therefore, why do you test God by putting a yoke on the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?

Нет! Мы верим в то, что получаем спасение по милости Господа Иисуса так же, как и они.

But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus [b]Christ we shall be saved in the same manner as they.”

Тогда все затихли и стали слушать рассказ Варнавы и Павла о знамениях и чудесах, которые Бог совершил через них среди язычников.

Then all the multitude kept silent and listened to Barnabas and Paul declaring how many miracles and wonders God had worked through them among the Gentiles.

Когда они закончили, Иаков сказал: — Братья, послушайте меня.

And after they had [c]become silent, James answered, saying, “Men and brethren, listen to me:

Симон рассказал нам о том, как Бог с самого начала позаботился взять из среды язычников народ для себя.

Simon has declared how God at the first visited the Gentiles to take out of them a people for His name.

Об этом говорили и пророки, у которых сказано:

And with this the words of the prophets agree, just as it is written:

"Затем Я возвращусь и восстановлю разрушенную скинию Давида. Я восстановлю разрушенное и воссоздам ее,

‘After this I will return And will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down; I will rebuild its ruins, And I will set it up;

чтобы оставшиеся из людей и все народы, которые были названы Моим именем, стали искать Господа. Так говорит Господь, который

So that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord, Even all the Gentiles who are called by My name, Says the [d]Lord who does all these things.’

объявил об этом издревле".

[e]“Known to God from eternity are all His works.

— Поэтому я считаю, что мы не должны создавать трудностей для язычников, обращающихся к Богу.

Therefore I judge that we should not trouble those from among the Gentiles who are turning to God,

Напротив, мы должны написать им письмо, предупредив лишь, чтобы они воздерживались от вещей, оскверненных идолами, от блуда, от мяса удушенных животных и от крови. И чтобы не делали другим того, чего себе не желают.

but that we write to them to abstain from things polluted by idols, from [f]sexual immorality, from things strangled, and from blood.

Ведь закон Моисея читается в синагогах каждую субботу и в каждом городе издавна проповедуется.

For Moses has had throughout many generations those who preach him in every city, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath.”

Aпостолы и старейшины вместе со всей церковью решили выбрать несколько человек из своей среды и послать их с Павлом и Варнавой в Aнтиохию. Они выбрали Иуду, которого еще называли Варсавой, и Силу. Эти двое были руководителями среди братьев.

Then it pleased the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas, namely, Judas who was also named Barsabas,[g] and Silas, leading men among the brethren.

С ними передали такое письмо: "Братья апостолы и старейшины, братьям из язычников, находящимся в Aнтиохии, Сирии и Киликии. Приветствуем вас!

They wrote this letter by them: The apostles, the elders, and the brethren, To the brethren who are of the Gentiles in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia: Greetings.

До нас дошли слухи о том, что какие-то люди, пришедшие от нас, хотя мы их не посылали, привели вас в замешательство своими словами и взволновали ваши умы.

Since we have heard that some who went out from us have troubled you with words, unsettling your souls, [h]saying, “You must be circumcised and keep the law” — to whom we gave no such commandment —

Поэтому мы с общего согласия решили выбрать из нашей среды несколько человек и послать их к вам вместе с нашими дорогими Варнавой и Павлом.

it seemed good to us, being assembled with one [i]accord, to send chosen men to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,

Эти люди рисковали своей жизнью ради имени нашего Господа Иисуса Христа.

men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Мы посылаем к вам также Иуду и Силу, чтобы они на словах подтвердили то, что мы пишем.

We have therefore sent Judas and Silas, who will also report the same things by word of mouth.

Дух Святой и мы решили не обременять вас ничем, кроме следующих требований:

For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things:

воздерживайтесь от пищи, принесенной в жертву идолам, от крови, от мяса удушенных животных и от блуда. И не делайте другим того, чего себе не желаете. Если вы будете соблюдать это, то поступите правильно. Всех благ".

that you abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual[j] immorality. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell.

Посланные отправились и пришли в Aнтиохию. Там они собрали церковь и вручили письмо.

So when they were sent off, they came to Antioch; and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the letter.

Люди читали его и радовались ободряющей вести.

When they had read it, they rejoiced over its encouragement.

Иуда и Сила, которые сами были пророками, своими словами ободряли и воодушевляли братьев.

Now Judas and Silas, themselves being prophets also, exhorted and strengthened the brethren with many words.

Они провели там некоторое время, и братья с миром отпустили их к тем, кто их послал.

And after they had stayed there for a time, they were sent back with greetings from the brethren to [k]the apostles.

Сила, однако же, решил остаться, а Иуда вернулся в Иерусалим.

[l]However, it seemed good to Silas to remain there.

Павел и Варнава остались в Aнтиохии. Там они, и с ними многие другие, учили и проповедовали слово Господа.

Paul and Barnabas also remained in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.

Спустя некоторое время Павел предложил Варнаве: — Давай посетим братьев во всех городах, где мы проповедовали слово Господне, и посмотрим, как они живут.

Then after some days Paul said to Barnabas, “Let us now go back and visit our brethren in every city where we have preached the word of the Lord, and see how they are doing.”

Варнава хотел взять с собой Иоанна, которого называли еще Марком,

Now Barnabas [m]was determined to take with them John called Mark.

но Павел не хотел брать с собой того, кто оставил их в Памфилии и не помог исполнить порученную им работу.

But Paul insisted that they should not take with them the one who had departed from them in Pamphylia, and had not gone with them to the work.

Разногласие по этому вопросу было столь острым, что они расстались. Варнава взял Марка и отплыл на Кипр,

Then the contention became so sharp that they parted from one another. And so Barnabas took Mark and sailed to Cyprus;

а Павел выбрал Силу и, получив благословение от братьев, отправился в путь.

but Paul chose Silas and departed, being [n]commended by the brethren to the grace of God.

Павел проходил через Сирию и Киликию, утверждая церкви.

And he went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches.
