Наступил день Пятидесятницы, и все ученики были вместе.

On the day of Pentecosta all the believers were meeting together in one place.

Вдруг с небес послышался звук, напоминающий шум ураганного ветра, который заполнил весь дом, где они сидели.

Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting.

Ученики увидели нечто похожее на огненные языки, которые разделились и остановились по одному на каждом из них.

Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them.

Все они исполнились Святым Духом и начали говорить на других языках: Дух давал им такую способность.

And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages,b as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.

В Иерусалим в это время пришли набожные иудеи из разных стран.

At that time there were devout Jews from every nation living in Jerusalem.

На шум собралось много народа; люди недоумевали, потому что каждый из них слышал, как апостолы говорили на его родном языке!

When they heard the loud noise, everyone came running, and they were bewildered to hear their own languages being spoken by the believers.

Вне себя от изумления, они спрашивали: — Разве все эти люди не галилеяне?

They were completely amazed. “How can this be?” they exclaimed. “These people are all from Galilee,

Как же это каждый из нас слышит их говорящими на нашем родном языке?

and yet we hear them speaking in our own native languages!

Среди нас есть парфяне, мидяне, эламиты, жители Месопотамии, Иудеи и Каппадокии, Понта и Aсии,

Here we are — Parthians, Medes, Elamites, people from Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, the province of Asia,

Фригии и Памфилии, Египта, окрестностей Ливии, прилегающих к Кирене, римляне,

Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, and the areas of Libya around Cyrene, visitors from Rome

евреи и обращенные в иудаизм, критяне и арабы, и все мы слышим, как они говорят о великих делах Божьих на наших языках!

(both Jews and converts to Judaism), Cretans, and Arabs. And we all hear these people speaking in our own languages about the wonderful things God has done!”

Удивленные и растерянные, они спрашивали друг друга: — Что бы это могло значить?

They stood there amazed and perplexed. “What can this mean?” they asked each other.

Некоторые же посмеивались: — Они напились сладкого вина!

But others in the crowd ridiculed them, saying, “They’re just drunk, that’s all!”

Петр, поднявшись вместе с другими одиннадцатью апостолами и обращаясь к народу, громко сказал: — Иудеи и все жители Иерусалима! Чтобы вам стало понятно, выслушайте внимательно, что я скажу.

Then Peter stepped forward with the eleven other apostles and shouted to the crowd, “Listen carefully, all of you, fellow Jews and residents of Jerusalem! Make no mistake about this.

Люди эти не пьяны, как вы думаете: сейчас ведь всего девять часов утра.

These people are not drunk, as some of you are assuming. Nine o’clock in the morning is much too early for that.

Но это исполняются слова пророка Иоиля:

No, what you see was predicted long ago by the prophet Joel:

"В последние дни, — говорит Бог, — Я пролью Дух Мой на всех людей. Ваши сыновья и дочери будут пророчествовать, молодые будут видеть видения, а пожилым будут сниться пророческие сны.

‘In the last days,’ God says, ‘I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams.

На слуг и на служанок Моих, Я изолью в те дни Мой Дух, и они будут пророчествовать.

In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on my servants — men and women alike — and they will prophesy.

Я покажу чудеса в вышине небес и знамения внизу на земле: кровь, огонь и клубы дыма.

And I will cause wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below — blood and fire and clouds of smoke.

Солнце превратится в тьму и луна в кровь, перед тем, как наступит великий и славный день Господа.

The sun will become dark, and the moon will turn blood red before that great and glorious day of the LORD arrives.

И каждый, кто призовет имя Господа, — будет спасен".

But everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.’c

— Израильтяне, выслушайте, что я вам скажу: Иисуса из Назарета, которого Бог отрекомендовал вам могущественными делами, чудесами и знамениями, которые, как вы сами знаете, Бог совершал у вас на глазах, —

“People of Israel, listen! God publicly endorsed Jesus the Nazarened by doing powerful miracles, wonders, and signs through him, as you well know.

Его, преданного по замыслу и предведению Бога, вы, пригвоздив руками беззаконников, убили.

But God knew what would happen, and his prearranged plan was carried out when Jesus was betrayed. With the help of lawless Gentiles, you nailed him to a cross and killed him.

Но Бог воскресил Его, освободив из плена смерти, и смерть была не в силах Его удержать.

But God released him from the horrors of death and raised him back to life, for death could not keep him in its grip.

— Давид говорит о Нем: "Я всегда видел Господа перед собой: Он по правую руку от меня, чтобы я не поколебался.

King David said this about him: ‘I see that the LORD is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.

Поэтому веселится мое сердце и радуется язык, и тело мое будет жить надеждой!

No wonder my heart is glad, and my tongue shouts his praises! My body rests in hope.

Ведь Ты не оставишь мою душу в мире мертвых! Ты не дашь Твоему святому увидеть тление!

For you will not leave my soul among the deade or allow your Holy One to rot in the grave.

Ты показал мне путь жизни и исполнишь меня радостью перед лицом Твоим!"

You have shown me the way of life, and you will fill me with the joy of your presence.’f

— Братья, я могу с уверенностью сказать вам, что праотец Давид умер и был похоронен. Его могила сохранилась у нас до сегодняшнего дня.

“Dear brothers, think about this! You can be sure that the patriarch David wasn’t referring to himself, for he died and was buried, and his tomb is still here among us.

Он был пророком, и зная о том, что Бог обещал ему с клятвой возвести на его престол одного из его потомков,

But he was a prophet, and he knew God had promised with an oath that one of David’s own descendants would sit on his throne.

он, провидя будущее, говорил о воскресении Мессии, что Он не был оставлен в мире мертвых и Его тело не увидело тления.

David was looking into the future and speaking of the Messiah’s resurrection. He was saying that God would not leave him among the dead or allow his body to rot in the grave.

И вот Бог воскресил Иисуса, и мы все этому свидетели!

“God raised Jesus from the dead, and we are all witnesses of this.

Он был вознесен рукой Бога и, получив от Отца обещанного Святого Духа, совершил то, что вы сейчас видите и слышите.

Now he is exalted to the place of highest honor in heaven, at God’s right hand. And the Father, as he had promised, gave him the Holy Spirit to pour out upon us, just as you see and hear today.

Ведь Давид не поднимался на небеса, но он сказал: "Господь сказал моему Господу: сядь по правую руку от Меня,

For David himself never ascended into heaven, yet he said, ‘The LORD said to my Lord, “Sit in the place of honor at my right hand

пока Я не повергну врагов Твоих к Твоим ногам".

until I humble your enemies, making them a footstool under your feet.”’g

— Поэтому пусть весь дом Израиля будет уверен в том, что этого Иисуса, которого вы распяли, Бог сделал и Господом, и Мессией!

“So let everyone in Israel know for certain that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, to be both Lord and Messiah!”

Когда люди услышали это, их сердца стали терзаться муками совести. Они спрашивали Петра и других апостолов: — Братья, что нам делать?

Peter’s words pierced their hearts, and they said to him and to the other apostles, “Brothers, what should we do?”

Петр отвечал: — Покайтесь, и пусть каждый из вас будет крещен во имя Иисуса Христа для прощения ваших грехов, и вы получите дар Святого Духа.

Peter replied, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Потому что это обещание относится к вам, вашим детям и к дальним: ко всем, кто будет призван Господом нашим Богом.

This promise is to you, to your children, and to those far awayh — all who have been called by the Lord our God.”

И многими другими словами Петр убеждал их, говоря: — Спасайтесь от этого развращенного рода.

Then Peter continued preaching for a long time, strongly urging all his listeners, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation!”

Те, кто принимал его проповедь, были крещены. В тот день присоединилось около трех тысяч человек.

Those who believed what Peter said were baptized and added to the church that day — about 3,000 in all.

Они держались учения апостолов, участвуя в общении, в преломлении хлеба и в молитвах.

All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supperi), and to prayer.

Все были полны трепета перед Богом, а через апостолов совершалось много чудес и знамений.

A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders.

Все верующие были вместе, и все у них было общее.

And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had.

Они продавали свои владения и имущество и раздавали всем, в зависимости от нужды каждого.

They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need.

Каждый день они собирались в храме и по домам, где преломляли хлеб и ели с радостью и в простоте сердца,

They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosityj —

прославляя Бога и пользуясь добрым расположением всего народа. Господь же ежедневно прибавлял к ним спасаемых.

all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.
