То, что существовало от начала, то, что мы слышали, что видели своими глазами, за чем мы наблюдали и к чему прикасались, то мы и проповедуем — Слово жизни.

We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning,a whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life.

Сама жизнь стала видимой и осязаемой, мы свидетели этого. Мы проповедуем вам о вечной жизни, которая была у Отца и которую увидели и мы.

This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life. He was with the Father, and then he was revealed to us.

Мы говорим вам о том, что сами видели и слышали, чтобы и вы тоже имели общение с нами, подобное нашему общению с Отцом и с Его Сыном Иисусом Христом.

We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.

Об этом мы и пишем для того, чтобы радость наша была полной.

We are writing these things so that you may fully share our joy.b

И вот та весть, которую мы сами слышали от Него и теперь передаем вам: Бог — это свет, и в Нем нет никакой тьмы.

This is the message we heard from Jesusc and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.

Если мы говорим, что живем в общении с Ним, но сами ходим во тьме, то мы лжем и не живем согласно истине.

So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth.

Но если мы ходим во свете, как и Он находится во свете, то мы имеем общение друг с другом, и кровь Его Сына Иисуса очищает нас от всякого греха.

But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

Если мы заявляем о том, что мы без греха, то обманываем самих себя, и в нас нет истины.

If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth.

Если же мы открыто признаем наши грехи, то Он простит их нам и очистит нас от всякой неправедности, потому что Он верен и справедлив.

But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

A если мы говорим, что не согрешили, то представляем Бога лжецом, а значит, Его слова нет в нас.

If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.
