От Павла, по воле Бога апостола Иисуса Христа, и от брата Тимофея,

This letter is from Paul, chosen by the will of God to be an apostle of Christ Jesus, and from our brother Timothy.

святым и верным братьям во Христе, находящимся в Колоссах. Благодать и мир вам от Бога — нашего Отца.

We are writing to God’s holy people in the city of Colosse, who are faithful brothers and sistersa in Christ. May God our Father give you grace and peace.

Мы всегда в молитвах благодарим за вас Бога — Отца нашего Господа Иисуса Христа,

We always pray for you, and we give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

потому что до нас доходят слухи о вашей вере в Христа Иисуса и о вашей любви ко всем святым.

For we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and your love for all of God’s people,

Ваши вера и любовь порождены надеждой на то, что ожидает вас в небесах. Вы слышали об этом раньше в слове истины, в Евангелии,

which come from your confident hope of what God has reserved for you in heaven. You have had this expectation ever since you first heard the truth of the Good News.

которое пришло и к вам и которое распространяется и приносит плоды по всему миру, как и у вас с того дня, как вы впервые услышали его и познали истину о милости Божьей.

This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives, just as it changed your lives from the day you first heard and understood the truth about God’s wonderful grace.

Вы узнали о нем от Эпафраса, нашего любимого сотрудника, который верно служит Христу среди вас.

You learned about the Good News from Epaphras, our beloved co-worker. He is Christ’s faithful servant, and he is helping us on your behalf.b

Он и рассказал нам о любви, которую дал вам Дух.

He has told us about the love for others that the Holy Spirit has given you.

Поэтому с тех пор как мы о вас впервые услышали, мы постоянно о вас молимся и просим, чтобы Бог дал вам знание Его воли, ясное мышление и духовную мудрость.

So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding.

Мы молимся о том, чтобы вы жили достойно Господа и чтобы во всем угождали Ему, принося плоды ваших добрых дел и все ближе узнавая Его.

Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better.

Пусть Его всемогущество вселяет в вас силы и делает вас выносливыми, терпеливыми и радостными.

We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy,c

Благодарите Отца, который сделал вас способными получить часть в наследии святых во свете.

always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light.

Он избавил нас от власти мрака и ввел в Царство своего любимого Сына.

For he has rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son,

В Нем мы обрели искупление, прощение грехи.

who purchased our freedomd and forgave our sins. Christ Is Supreme

Он образ невидимого Бога, первенец всего творения.

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation,e

Через Него было сотворено все на небе и на земле, все видимое и невидимое: будь то престолы, господства, правители или власти — все было сотворено через Него и для Него.

for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see — such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him.

Еще до того, как все было сотворено, Он уже существовал, и все существует в Нем.

He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together.

Он — глава тела, то есть Церкви, Он начало всего, первый среди воскресших из мертвых, чтобы во всем быть первым.

Christ is also the head of the church, which is his body. He is the beginning, supreme over all who rise from the dead.f So he is first in everything.

Все, чем обладает Бог, по воле Бога обитает и во Христе.

For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ,

Благодаря Его крови, пролитой на кресте, Бог примирил в Нем с собою все, что на небесах и на земле.

and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.

Когда-то вы были далеки от Бога и враждебны Ему в своем разуме, направленном на злые дела.

This includes you who were once far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions.

Но сейчас Бог примирил вас с собой тем, что Христос в своем земном теле прошел через смерть. Он поставит вас перед собою как святых и непорочных, и незаслуживающих упрека;

Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.

главное, чтобы вы продолжали стоять на твердом основании веры, не изменяли надежде, которую вам дало услышанное вами Евангелие, проповеданное всем живущим под небесами. А я, Павел, — служитель этого Евангелия.

But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News. The Good News has been preached all over the world, and I, Paul, have been appointed as God’s servant to proclaim it.

Теперь я радуюсь, что мне приходится страдать за вас. Я дополняю в своем теле страдания Христа за Его тело, то есть за церковь,

I am glad when I suffer for you in my body, for I am participating in the sufferings of Christ that continue for his body, the church.

служителем которой я стал по поручению Бога. Он поручил мне представить вам Его Слово во всей Его полноте.

God has given me the responsibility of serving his church by proclaiming his entire message to you.

Его Слово оставалось тайной для людей из века в век и из поколения в поколение, а сейчас оно открывается Его святым.

This message was kept secret for centuries and generations past, but now it has been revealed to God’s people.

Бог захотел открыть им, как велико среди язычников богатство славы этой тайны, которая заключается в том, что Христос находится в вас! Он ваша надежда на будущую славу!

For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory.

Мы говорим о Нем, направляя и уча каждого человека. Мы используем всю нашу мудрость, чтобы сделать каждого зрелым христианином.

So we tell others about Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all the wisdom God has given us. We want to present them to God, perfectg in their relationship to Christ.

Ради этого я собственно и тружусь, и борюсь действующей во мне силой, которую я получаю от Него.

That’s why I work and struggle so hard, depending on Christ’s mighty power that works within me.
