Павло, Силуан і Тимофій — Солунській Церкві в Бозі Отці й Господі Ісусі Христі: благодать вам і мир [від Бога, нашого Отця, і Господа Ісуса Христа]. [1]

Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Ми завжди дякуємо Богові за всіх вас, згадуючи в наших молитвах; постійно

We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;

пам’ятаємо перед Богом, нашим Отцем, про ваше діло віри, про відчайдушну працю любові та терпіння в надії на нашого Господа Ісуса Христа.

Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;

Знаємо, улюблені Богом брати, про ваш вибір.

Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God.

Адже наше Євангеліє до вас було не тільки в слові, а й у силі та у Святому Дусі, і з повним переконанням. Ви знаєте, якими були ми між вами і задля вас.

For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

І ви стали наслідувати нас та Господа, прийнявши серед великих утисків слово з радістю Святого Духа,

And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:

тому ви стали взірцем для всіх вірних у Македонії та Ахаї.

So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.

Адже від вас рознеслося Господнє Слово не лише по Македонії та Ахаї, а ваша віра в Бога долинула до кожної місцевості. Так що нам не потрібно щось говорити,

For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.

бо вони самі про нас промовляють, який був наш прихід до вас, і як ви від ідолів навернулися до Бога, щоб служити живому й істинному Богові

For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;

та очікувати з небес Його Сина, Якого Він воскресив з мертвих — Ісуса, Котрий визволяє нас від майбутнього гніву.

And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
