Korah, Gatam, and Amalek; these are the chiefs of Eliphaz in the land of Edom; these are the sons of Adah.
These are the sons of Reuel, Esau’s son: the chiefs Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah; these are the chiefs of Reuel in the land of Edom; these are the sons of Basemath, Esau’s wife.
These are the sons of Esau (that is, Edom), and these are their chiefs.
Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan; these are the chiefs of the Horites, the sons of Seir in the land of Edom.
These are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom, before any king reigned over the Israelites.
Bela the son of Beor reigned in Edom, the name of his city being Dinhabah.
Magdiel, and Iram; these are the chiefs of Edom (that is, Esau, the father of Edom), according to their dwelling places in the land of their possession.
Now are the chiefs of Edom dismayed; trembling seizes the leaders of Moab; all the inhabitants of Canaan have melted away.
14 Moses sent messengers from Kadesh to the king of Edom: “Thus says your brother Israel: You know all the hardship that we have met:
But Edom said to him, “You shall not pass through, lest I come out with the sword against you.”
But he said, “You shall not pass through.” And Edom came out against them with a large army and with a strong force.
Thus Edom refused to give Israel passage through his territory, so Israel turned away from him.
And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron at Mount Hor, on the border of the land of Edom,
4 From Mount Hor they set out by the way to the Red Sea, to go around the land of Edom. And the people became impatient on the way.
Edom shall be dispossessed; Seir also, his enemies, shall be dispossessed. Israel is doing valiantly.
And they set out from Kadesh and camped at Mount Hor, on the edge of the land of Edom.
your south side shall be from the wilderness of Zin alongside Edom, and your southern border shall run from the end of the Salt Sea on the east.
1 The allotment for the tribe of the people of Judah according to their clans reached southward to the boundary of Edom, to the wilderness of Zin at the farthest south.
The cities belonging to the tribe of the people of Judah in the extreme south, toward the boundary of Edom, were Kabzeel, Eder, Jagur,
“Lord, when you went out from Seir, when you marched from the region of Edom, the earth trembled and the heavens dropped, yes, the clouds dropped water.
Israel then sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, ‘Please let us pass through your land,’ but the king of Edom would not listen. And they sent also to the king of Moab, but he would not consent. So Israel remained at Kadesh.

47 When Saul had taken the kingship over Israel, he fought against all his enemies on every side, against Moab, against the Ammonites, against Edom, against the kings of Zobah, and against the Philistines. Wherever he turned he routed them.

For when David was in Edom, and Joab the commander of the army went up to bury the slain, he struck down every male in Edom
(for Joab and all Israel remained there six months, until he had cut off every male in Edom).
There was no king in Edom; a deputy was king.
Then he said, “By which way shall we march?” Jehoram answered, “By the way of the wilderness of Edom.”
So the king of Israel went with the king of Judah and the king of Edom. And when they had made a circuitous march of seven days, there was no water for the army or for the animals that followed them.
And Jehoshaphat said, “The word of the Lord is with him.” So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.
The next morning, about the time of offering the sacrifice, behold, water came from the direction of Edom, till the country was filled with water.
When the king of Moab saw that the battle was going against him, he took with him 700 swordsmen to break through, opposite the king of Edom, but they could not.
In his days Edom revolted from the rule of Judah and set up a king of their own.
So Edom revolted from the rule of Judah to this day. Then Libnah revolted at the same time.
You have indeed struck down Edom, and your heart has lifted you up. Be content with your glory, and stay at home, for why should you provoke trouble so that you fall, you and Judah with you?”
These are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom before any king reigned over the people of Israel: Bela the son of Beor, the name of his city being Dinhabah.
And Hadad died. The chiefs of Edom were: chiefs Timna, Alvah, Jetheth,
Magdiel, and Iram; these are the chiefs of Edom.
These also King David dedicated to the Lord, together with the silver and gold that he had carried off from all the nations, from Edom, Moab, the Ammonites, the Philistines, and Amalek.
Then he put garrisons in Edom, and all the Edomites became David’s servants. And the Lord gave victory to David wherever he went.
Then Solomon went to Ezion-geber and Eloth on the shore of the sea, in the land of Edom.
Some men came and told Jehoshaphat, “A great multitude is coming against you from Edom, from beyond the sea; and, behold, they are in Hazazon-tamar” (that is, Engedi).
In his days Edom revolted from the rule of Judah and set up a king of their own.
