But when you fast, comb your hair and wash your face.
As the men watched, Jesus’ appearance was transformed so that his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as light.
The disciples were terrified and fell face down on the ground.
He went on a little farther and bowed with his face to the ground, praying, “My Father! If it is possible, let this cup of suffering be taken away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.”
Then they began to spit in Jesus’ face and beat him with their fists. And some slapped him,
His face shone like lightning, and his clothing was as white as snow.
At this the man’s face fell, and he went away sad, for he had many possessions.
12 In one of the villages, Jesus met a man with an advanced case of leprosy. When the man saw Jesus, he bowed with his face to the ground, begging to be healed. “Lord,” he said, “if you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean.”
The seeds on the rocky soil represent those who hear the message and receive it with joy. But since they don’t have deep roots, they believe for a while, then they fall away when they face temptation.
And as he was praying, the appearance of his face was transformed, and his clothes became dazzling white.
And the Father who sent me has testified about me himself. You have never heard his voice or seen him face to face,
And the dead man came out, his hands and feet bound in graveclothes, his face wrapped in a headcloth. Jesus told them, “Unwrap him and let him go!”
Then one of the Temple guards standing nearby slapped Jesus across the face. “Is that the way to answer the high priest?” he demanded.
“Hail! King of the Jews!” they mocked, as they slapped him across the face.
At this point everyone in the high council stared at Stephen, because his face became as bright as an angel’s.
For I swear, dear brothers and sisters, that I face death daily. This is as certain as my pride in what Christ Jesus our Lord has done in you.
7 The old way, with laws etched in stone, led to death, though it began with such glory that the people of Israel could not bear to look at Moses’ face. For his face shone with the glory of God, even though the brightness was already fading away.
We are not like Moses, who put a veil over his face so the people of Israel would not see the glory, even though it was destined to fade away.
For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.
So we live in the face of death, but this has resulted in eternal life for you.
You put up with it when someone enslaves you, takes everything you have, takes advantage of you, takes control of everything, and slaps you in the face.
11 But when Peter came to Antioch, I had to oppose him to his face, for what he did was very wrong.
For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror.
The eyes of the LORD watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers. But the LORD turns his face against those who do evil.”
But remember that they will have to face God, who stands ready to judge everyone, both the living and the dead.
And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world.
12 I have much more to say to you, but I don’t want to do it with paper and ink. For I hope to visit you soon and talk with you face to face. Then our joy will be complete.
For I hope to see you soon, and then we will talk face to face. [15] Peace be with you. Your friends here send you their greetings. Please give my personal greetings to each of our friends there.

But you told us, ‘Unless your youngest brother comes with you, you will never see my face again.’
we replied, ‘We can’t go unless you let our youngest brother go with us. We’ll never get to see the man’s face unless our youngest brother is with us.’
Finally, Jacob said to Joseph, “Now I am ready to die, since I have seen your face again and know you are still alive.”
Then Jacob said to Joseph, “I never thought I would see your face again, but now God has let me see your children, too!”
Joseph moved the boys, who were at their grandfather’s knees, and he bowed with his face to the ground.
