And Solomon the son of David was strengthened in his kingdom, and the LORD his God was with him, and magnified him exceedingly.

Und Salomo, der Sohn Davids, erstarkte in seiner Königsherrschaftⓐ. Und der HERR, sein Gott, war mit ihmⓑ und machte ihn überaus großⓒ.

Then Solomon spake unto all Israel, to the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and to the judges, and to every governor in all Israel, the chief of the fathers.

ⓓ Und Salomo sprach zu ganz Israel, zu den Obersten über Tausend und über Hundert und zu den Richtern und zu allen Fürsten von ganz Israel, den Familienoberhäuptern[1]ⓔ.

So Solomon, and all the congregation with him, went to the high place that was at Gibeon; for there was the tabernacle of the congregation of God, which Moses the servant of the LORD had made in the wilderness.

Und sie, Salomo und die ganze Versammlung mit ihm, gingen zu der Höhe, die bei Gibeonⓕ war. Denn dort war das Begegnungszelt Gottes, das Mose, der Knecht des HERRNⓖ, in der Wüste gemacht hatte. —

But the ark of God had David brought up from Kirjathjearim to the place which David had prepared for it: for he had pitched a tent for it at Jerusalem.

Die Lade Gottes jedoch hatte David von Kirjat-Jearim heraufgebracht an ‹die Stelle, die› David für sie hergerichtet hatteⓗ; denn er hatte ihr in Jerusalem ein Zelt aufgeschlagenⓘ. —

Moreover the brasen altar, that Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, had made, he put before the tabernacle of the LORD: and Solomon and the congregation sought unto it.

Und der bronzene Altar, den Bezalel, der Sohn Uris, des Sohnes Hurs, gemacht hatteⓙ, war dort vor der Wohnung des HERRN. Und Salomo und die Versammlung suchten ihn ‹dort› auf.

And Solomon went up thither to the brasen altar before the LORD, which was at the tabernacle of the congregation, and offered a thousand burnt offerings upon it.

Und Salomo opferte dort vor dem HERRN auf dem bronzenen Altarⓚ, der bei dem Zelt der Begegnung war; und er opferte auf ihm tausend Brandopfer.

In that night did God appear unto Solomon, and said unto him, Ask what I shall give thee.

In jener Nacht erschien Gott dem Salomo und sprach zu ihm: Bitte, was ich dir geben soll!

And Solomon said unto God, Thou hast shewed great mercy unto David my father, and hast made me to reign in his stead.

Und Salomo sagte zu Gott: Du selbst hast ja an meinem Vater David große Gnade erwiesenⓛ; und du hast mich zum König gemacht an seiner Stelleⓜ.

Now, O LORD God, let thy promise unto David my father be established: for thou hast made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude.

Und nun, HERR, Gott, möge sich dein Wort an meinen Vater David als zuverlässig erweisenⓝ! Denn du hast mich zum König gemacht über ein Volk, ‹das› zahlreich ‹ist› wie der Staub der Erdeⓞ.

Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this thy people, that is so great?

Gib mir nun Weisheit und Erkenntnisⓟ, damit ich vor diesem Volk aus— und eingehen kannⓠ! Denn wer kann dieses, dein großes Volk richten?ⓡ —

And God said to Solomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, wealth, or honour, nor the life of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life; but hast asked wisdom and knowledge for thyself, that thou mayest judge my people, over whom I have made thee king:

Da sprach Gott zu Salomo: Weil dir dies am Herzen lag und du nicht gebeten hast um Reichtum, Güter und Ehre[2] oder um das Leben[3] derer, die dich hassen, und ‹weil du› auch nicht um viele Tage gebeten, sondern um Weisheit und Erkenntnis für dich gebeten hast, damit du mein Volk richten kannstⓢ, über das ich dich zum König gemacht habe,

Wisdom and knowledge is granted unto thee; and I will give thee riches, and wealth, and honour, such as none of the kings have had that have been before thee, neither shall there any after thee have the like.

so sind dir Weisheit und Erkenntnis gegebenⓣ. Und Reichtum und Güter und ‹auch› Ehre[4] will ich dir geben, wie sie die Könige, die vor dir gewesen sind, nicht gehabt haben und wie sie nach dir keiner haben wirdⓤ.

Then Solomon came from his journey to the high place that was at Gibeon to Jerusalem, from before the tabernacle of the congregation, and reigned over Israel.

Und Salomo kam von der Höhe, die bei Gibeon war, von ‹der Stelle› vor dem Zelt der Begegnung, nach Jerusalem. Und er regierte über Israelⓥ.

And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, which he placed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.

ⓦ Und Salomo brachte Streitwagen und Pferde zusammenⓧ, und er hatte 1 400 Streitwagen und 12 000 Pferde. Und er legte sie in die Wagenstädte und zu dem König nach Jerusalemⓨ.

And the king made silver and gold at Jerusalem as plenteous as stones, and cedar trees made he as the sycomore trees that are in the vale for abundance.

Und der König machte das Silber und das Gold in Jerusalem an Menge den Steinen gleich, und die Zedern machte er ‹an Menge› den Maulbeerfeigenbäumen gleich, die in der Niederung[5] sindⓩ.

And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and linen yarn: the king's merchants received the linen yarn at a price.

Und die Ausfuhr der Pferde für Salomo ‹erfolgte› aus Ägypten [6]und aus Koe. Die Aufkäufer des Königs holten ‹sie› aus Koe[7] gegen Bezahlung.

And they fetched up, and brought forth out of Egypt a chariot for six hundred shekels of silver, and an horse for an hundred and fifty: and so brought they out horses for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, by their means.

Bei der Ausfuhr aus Ägypten handelte man einen Wagen für[8] 600 ‹Schekel› Silber und ein Pferd für 150. Und so führte man ‹sie› für alle Könige der Hetiter und für die Könige von Aram durch die Aufkäufer[9] ‹wieder› ausⓐ.
