Paulus und Silvanus und Timotheus an die Gemeinde in Thessalonich in Gott, unserm Vater, und dem Herrn Jesus Christus:

Paul and Silvanus and Timotheus to the assembly of Thessalonians in God our Father and [the] Lord Jesus Christ.

Gnade sei mit euch und Friede von Gott, unserm Vater, und dem Herrn Jesus Christus!

Grace to you, and peace from God our Father, and [the] Lord Jesus Christ.

Wir müssen Gott allezeit für euch danken, liebe Brüder, wie sich's gebührt. Denn euer Glaube wächst sehr, und eure gegenseitige Liebe nimmt zu bei euch allen.

We ought to thank God always for you, brethren, even as it is meet, because your faith increases exceedingly, and the love of each one of you all towards one another abounds;

Darum rühmen wir uns euer unter den Gemeinden Gottes wegen eurer Geduld und eures Glaubens in allen Verfolgungen und Bedrängnissen, die ihr erduldet,

so that we ourselves make our boast in you in the assemblies of God for your endurance and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations, which ye are sustaining;

ein Anzeichen dafür, daß Gott recht richten wird und ihr gewürdigt werdet des Reiches Gottes, für das ihr auch leidet.

a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, to the end that ye should be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for the sake of which ye also suffer;

Denn es ist gerecht bei Gott, mit Bedrängnis zu vergelten denen, die euch bedrängen,

if at least [it is a] righteous thing with God to render tribulation to those that trouble you,

euch aber, die ihr Bedrängnis leidet, Ruhe zu geben mit uns, wenn der Herr Jesus sich offenbaren wird vom Himmel her mit den Engeln seiner Macht

and to you that are troubled repose with us, at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven, with [the] angels of his power,

in Feuerflammen, Vergeltung zu üben an denen, die Gott nicht kennen und die nicht gehorsam sind dem Evangelium unseres Herrn Jesus.

in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who know not God, and those who do not obey the glad tidings of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Die werden Strafe erleiden, das ewige Verderben, vom Angesicht des Herrn her und von seiner herrlichen Macht,

who shall pay the penalty [of] everlasting destruction from [the] presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his might,

wenn er kommen wird, daß er verherrlicht werde bei seinen Heiligen und wunderbar erscheine bei allen Gläubigen, an jenem Tage; denn was wir euch bezeugt haben, das habt ihr geglaubt.

when he shall have come to be glorified in his saints, and wondered at in all that have believed, (for our testimony to you has been believed,) in that day.

Deshalb beten wir auch allezeit für euch, daß unser Gott euch würdig mache der Berufung und vollende alles Wohlgefallen am Guten und das Werk des Glaubens in Kraft,

To which end we also pray always for you, that our God may count you worthy of the calling, and fulfil all [the] good pleasure of [his] goodness and [the] work of faith with power,

damit in euch verherrlicht werde der Name unseres Herrn Jesus und ihr in ihm, nach der Gnade unseres Gottes und des Herrn Jesus Christus.

so that the name of our Lord Jesus [Christ] may be glorified in you and ye in him, according to the grace of our God, and of [the] Lord Jesus Christ.
