Сымон Пётр, слуга і апостал Езуса Хрыста — тым, хто прыняў аднолькава дарагую нам веру праз справядлівасць Бога нашага і Збаўцу Езуса Хрыста.

Simeona Peter, a servantb and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained a faith of equal standing with ours by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ:

Няхай памножацца ў вас ласка і спакой праз пазнанне Бога і Езуса, нашага Пана.

May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.

Ад Боскай сілы Ягонай нам даравана ўсё для жыцця і пабожнасці дзякуючы пазнанню таго, хто паклікаў нас для ўласнай славы і хвалы,

His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us toc his own glory and excellence,d

праз што даў нам вялікія і каштоўныя абяцанні, каб праз іх вы сталі саўдзельнікамі Божай натуры, пазбегнуўшы згубы пажадлівага свету.

by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.

З гэтай самай прычыны прыкладайце ўсе намаганні, каб дапоўніць вашую веру цнотай, цноту — пазнаннем,

For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue,e and virtue with knowledge,

пазнанне — стрыманасцю, стрыманасць — цярплівасцю, цярлівасць — пабожнасцю,

and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness,

пабожнасць — братняю любоўю, а братнюю любоў — любоўю.

and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love.

Калі ўсё гэта ў вас ёсць і памнажаецца, то вы не будзеце бяздзейнымі ды бясплённымі ў пазнанні Пана нашага Езуса Хрыста.

For if these qualitiesf are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

У каго ж няма гэтага, той сляпы, закрыўшы вочы, забыўся пра ачышчэнне ад сваіх даўніх грахоў.

For whoever lacks these qualities is so nearsighted that he is blind, having forgotten that he was cleansed from his former sins.

Таму, браты, старайцеся яшчэ больш умацаваць вашае пакліканне і выбар. Так паступаючы, ніколі не спаткніцёся.

Therefore, brothers,g be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and election, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall.

Тады шырока адкрыецца перад вамі ўваход у вечнае Валадарства нашага Пана і Збаўцы Езуса Хрыста.

For in this way there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Таму я заўсёды буду напамінаць вам пра гэта, хоць вы і ведаеце ды ўмацаваны ў гэтай праўдзе.

Therefore I intend always to remind you of these qualities, though you know them and are established in the truth that you have.

Лічу справядлівым, пакуль знаходжуся ў гэтым намёце, заахвочваць вас напамінам,

I think it right, as long as I am in this body,h to stir you up by way of reminder,

ведаючы, што хутка пакіну гэты мой намёт, як і адкрыў мне наш Пан, Езус Хрыстус.

since I know that the putting off of my body will be soon, as our Lord Jesus Christ made clear to me.

Буду ж старацца, каб вы і пасля майго адыходу заўсёды ўспаміналі пра гэтыя рэчы.

And I will make every effort so that after my departure you may be able at any time to recall these things.

Мы далі вам спазнаць моц і прыйсце нашага Пана Езуса Хрыста, не ідучы за мудра складзенымі байкамі, але будучы відавочцамі Ягонай велічы.

For we did not follow cleverly devised myths when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

Ён атрымаў ад Бога Айца пашану і славу, калі ад велічнай славы да Яго сышоў такі голас: «Гэта Мой Сын умілаваны, якога Я ўпадабаў».

For when he received honor and glory from God the Father, and the voice was borne to him by the Majestic Glory, “This is my beloved Son,i with whom I am well pleased,”

we ourselves heard this very voice borne from heaven, for we were with him on the holy mountain.

Да таго ж у нас ёсць мацнейшае, прароцкае слова. І вы добра зробіце, калі будзеце трываць пры ім, як пры лямпе, што свеціць у цёмным месцы, пакуль не пачне світаць дзень і зараніца не ўзыдзе ў сэрцах вашых.

And we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts,

Толькі памятайце перш за ўсё, што ніякае прароцтва ў Пісанні не належыць да прыватнага тлумачэння.

knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation.

Бо прароцтва ніколі не паходзіла з волі чалавека, але ад імя Бога абвяшчалі яго людзі, натхнёныя Святым Духам.

For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
