Другога году караля Дара, шостага месяца, першага дня месяца, было слова СПАДАРОВА Гаґеям прарокам Зэрувавелю Шэалфіеленку, вайводзе Юдэі, а Ігошуі Егосадачонку, найвышшаму сьвятару, кажучы:

In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, on the first day of the month, came the word of Jehovah by the prophet Haggai unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, saying,

«Гэтак кажа СПАДАР войскаў, кажучы: "Гэты люд кажа: ’Ня прышла пара, пара, каб станавіць дом СПАДАРОЎ’"».

Thus speaketh Jehovah of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that Jehovah's house should be built.

Тады было слова СПАДАРОВА Гаґеям прарокам, кажучы:

And the word of Jehovah came by Haggai the prophet, saying,

«Ці пара вам жыць у шаляваных дамох, а гэты дом спустошаны?»

Is it time for you that ye should dwell in your wainscoted houses, while this house lieth waste?

Затым цяпер гэтак кажа СПАДАР войскаў: «Зьвярніце сэрца сваё да дарогаў сваіх.

And now thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Consider your ways.

Вы сееце шмат, але зьбіраеце мала; ясьце, але вам ня досыць; п’іце, але не праганяеце смагі; адзяіцеся, але вам ня цёпла; хто зарабляе плату, зарабляе да дзіравага капшука».

Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but are not satisfied; ye drink, but are not filled with drink; ye clothe yourselves, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages for a bag with holes.

Гэтак кажа СПАДАР войскаў: «Зьвярніце сэрца сваё да дарогаў сваіх.

Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Consider your ways.

Узыйдзіце на гару, і вазіце дзерва, і станавіце дом; і Я буду прыяць яму, і ўслаўлюся, — кажа СПАДАР. —

Go up to the mountain and bring wood, and build the house, and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith Jehovah.

Глядзіце, каб было шмат, а гля, мала; і як прыносіце двору, Я разьвею тое. Чаму? — агалашае СПАДАР войскаў: — За дом Мой, што спустошаны, а вы бяжыце кажны да дому свайго.

Ye looked for much, and behold it was little; and when ye brought it home, I blew upon it. Wherefore? saith Jehovah of hosts. Because of my house that lieth waste, whilst ye run every man to his own house.

Затым неба над вамі заставалася без расы, і зямля заставалася бяз плоду.

Therefore over you the heavens withhold their dew, and the earth withholdeth its fruit.

І Я прыгукаў сухмень на зямлю а на горы а на збожжа а на вінны сок а на аліву а на тое, што выдаець зямля, а на людзёў а на статак а на ўсю гарапашнасьць рук».

And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth forth, and upon man, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of the hands.

І паслухалі Зэрувавель Шэалфіеленак а Ігошуа Егосадачонак, найвышшы сьвятар, і ўся астача люду голасу СПАДАРА, Бога свайго, і слоў Гаґея прарокі, бо СПАДАР, Бог іхны, паслаў яго, і люд баяўся СПАДАРА.

And Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and all the remnant of the people, hearkened to the voice of Jehovah their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, according as Jehovah their God had sent him, and the people feared before Jehovah.

І сказаў Гаґей, пасланец СПАДАРОЎ, з паручэньня СПАДАРОВАГА да люду, кажучы: «Я з вамі», — агалашае СПАДАР.

Then spoke Haggai, Jehovah's messenger, in Jehovah's message unto the people, saying, I am with you, saith Jehovah.

І ўзрушыў СПАДАР дух Зэрувавеля Шэалфіеленка, вайводы Юдэі, а дух Ігошуі Егосадачонка, найвышшага сьвятара, а дух усяго засталага люду, і яны прышлі, і рабілі работу ў доме СПАДАРА войскаў, Бога свайго,

And Jehovah stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and worked at the house of Jehovah of hosts, their God,

Дваццаць чацьвертага дня шостага месяца, другога году караля Дара.

in the four and twentieth day of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.
