The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.

Сини Яфета: Гомер, Магог, Мадай, Яван, Тувал, Мешех та Тірас.

And the sons of Gomer; Ashchenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.

Сини Гомера: Ашканаз, Ріфат і Тогарма.

And the sons of Javan; Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.

Сини Явана: Еліша, Таршіш, Кіттім та Доданім.

The sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.

Сини Хама: Куш, Міцраїм, Пут і Ханаан.

And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabta, and Raamah, and Sabtecha. And the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan.

Сини Куша: Сева, Хавіла, Севта, Раема та Савтеха. Сини Раеми: Шева та Дадан.

And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be mighty upon the earth.

Куш породив ще й Німрода; він був перший могутнім на землі.

And Mizraim begat Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,

Міцраїм породив лудіїв, анаміїв, легевіїв, нафтухіїв,

And Pathrusim, and Casluhim, (of whom came the Philistines,) and Caphthorim.

патрусіїв, каслухіїв і кафтеріїв, від яких постали філістії (філістимляни).

And Canaan begat Zidon his firstborn, and Heth,

Ханаан породив Сидона, свого первенця, і Хета,

The Jebusite also, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite,

і євусіїв, аморіїв, гіргашіїв,

And the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,

хіввіїв, аркіїв, сініїв,

And the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite.

The sons of Shem; Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram, and Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Meshech.

Сини Сима: Елам, Ашшур, Арпахшад, Луд та Арам. Сини Арама: Уц, Хул, Гетер та Маш.

And Arphaxad begat Shelah, and Shelah begat Eber.

Арпахшад породив Шелаха, а Шелах породив Евера.

And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg; because in his days the earth was divided: and his brother's name was Joktan.

У Евера народились двоє синів: один на ім'я Пелег, бо за його часів була розділена земля, а другий на ім'я Йоктан.

And Joktan begat Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,

Йоктан породив Алмодада, Шелефа, Хацармавета, Ераха,

Hadoram also, and Uzal, and Diklah,

Гадорама, Узала, Діклу,

And Ebal, and Abimael, and Sheba,

Овала, Авімаела, Шеву,

And Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.

Офіра, Хавілу і Йовава. Усі ці — сини Йоктана.

Shem, Arphaxad, Shelah,

Сим, Арпахшад, Шелах,

Eber, Peleg, Reu,

Евер, Пелег, Реу,

Serug, Nahor, Terah,

Серуг, Нахор, Терах,

Abram; the same is Abraham.

Аврам, він же й Авраам.

The sons of Abraham; Isaac, and Ishmael.

Сини Авраама: Ісаак та Ізмаїл.

These are their generations: The firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth; then Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,

Ось їхні потомки: Невайот, первенець Ізмаїла, Кедар, Адбеел, Мівсам,

Mishma, and Dumah, Massa, Hadad, and Tema,

Мішма, Дума, Масса, Хадад, Тема,

Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. These are the sons of Ishmael.

Єтур, Нафіш і Кедма. Це сини Ізмаїла.

Now the sons of Keturah, Abraham's concubine: she bare Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. And the sons of Jokshan; Sheba, and Dedan.

Сини Кетури, наложниці Авраама: вона породила Зімрана, Йокшана, Медана, Мідіяна, Ішбака та Шуаха. Сини Йокшана: Шева і Дедан.

And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Henoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these are the sons of Keturah.

And Abraham begat Isaac. The sons of Isaac; Esau and Israel.

The sons of Esau; Eliphaz, Reuel, and Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah.

Сини Ісава: Еліфаз, Реуел, Єуш, Ялам і Корах.

The sons of Eliphaz; Teman, and Omar, Zephi, and Gatam, Kenaz, and Timna, and Amalek.

Сини Еліфаза: Теман, Омар, Цефі, Гатам, Кеназ, Тімна та Амалек.

The sons of Reuel; Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.

Сини Реуела: Нахат, Зерах, Шамма та Мізза.

And the sons of Seir; Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah, and Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan.

Сини Сеїра: Лотан, Шовал, Цівон, Ана, Дішон, Ецер та Дішан.

And the sons of Lotan; Hori, and Homam: and Timna was Lotan's sister.

Сини Лотана: Хорі, Геман; а сестра в Лотана: Тімна.

The sons of Shobal; Alian, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shephi, and Onam. And the sons of Zibeon; Aiah, and Anah.

Сини Шовала: Алван, Монахат, Евал, Шефо та Онам. Сини Цівона: Айя та Ана.

The sons of Anah; Dishon. And the sons of Dishon; Amram, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran.

Сини Ани: Дішон. Сини Дішона: Хемдан, Ешбан, Ітран та Херан.

The sons of Ezer; Bilhan, and Zavan, and Jakan. The sons of Dishan; Uz, and Aran.

Сини Ецера: Білган, Зааван та Акан. Сини Дішана: Уц та Аран.

Now these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom before any king reigned over the children of Israel; Bela the son of Beor: and the name of his city was Dinhabah.

Ось царі, що царювали в краю Едом, ще перед тим, як царював якийнебудь цар над синами Ізраїля: Бела, син Беора. Назва його міста була Дінгава.

And when Bela was dead, Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead.

А як помер Бела, то замість нього став царем Йовав, син Зераха, з Боцри.

And when Jobab was dead, Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his stead.

І помер Йовав, і замість нього став царем Хушам із Теман-краю.

And when Husham was dead, Hadad the son of Bedad, which smote Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Avith.

Помер Хушам, і замість нього став царем Гадад, син Бедада. Він розбив мідіян на Моав-рівнині; назва його міста була Авіт.

And when Hadad was dead, Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead.

Помер Гадад, на місце його став царем Самла з Масреки.

And when Samlah was dead, Shaul of Rehoboth by the river reigned in his stead.

Помер Самла, і замість нього став царем Саул із Реховоту, що над Рікою.

And when Shaul was dead, Baalhanan the son of Achbor reigned in his stead.

Помер Саул, а замість нього став царем Ваал-Ханан, син Ахбора.

And when Baalhanan was dead, Hadad reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Pai; and his wife's name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.

Помер Ваал-Ханан, і замість нього став царем Гадад. Назва його міста була Пау, а жінка його була на ім'я Мегедавель, дочка Матреда, дочка Мезагава.

Hadad died also. And the dukes of Edom were; duke Timnah, duke Aliah, duke Jetheth,

Як же Гадад помер, то в Едомі постали родоначальники: родоначальник Тімна, родоначальник Алва, родоначальник Єтет,

Duke Aholibamah, duke Elah, duke Pinon,

родоначальник Оголівама, родоначальник Ела, родоначальник Пінон,

Duke Kenaz, duke Teman, duke Mibzar,

родоначальник Кеназ, родоначальник Теман, родоначальник Мівцар,

Duke Magdiel, duke Iram. These are the dukes of Edom.

родоначальник Магдієл, родоначальник Ірам. Такі були родоначальники едомські.
