Paul, an apostle of [a]Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,

Паўла, з волі Божае апостал Ісуса Хрыста, подле абятніцы жыцця ў Хрысту Ісусу,

To Timothy, a beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

Цімоху, любоваму дзяцяці: ласка, міласэрдзе, супакой ад Бога Айца а Хрыста Ісуса, Спадара нашага.

I thank God, whom I serve with a pure conscience, as my forefathers did, as without ceasing I remember you in my prayers night and day,

Дзякую Богу, Катораму служу ад прабацькоў з чыстым сумленьням, як штачасна ўспамінаю цябе ў маленьнях сваіх ноч і дзень,

greatly desiring to see you, being mindful of your tears, that I may be filled with joy,

Жадаю бачыць цябе, успамінаючы сьлёзы твае, каб імне напоўніцца радасьцяй,

when I call to remembrance the [b]genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also.

Успамінаючы шчырую веру тваю, што была ўперад у бабулі тваёй Лоідзе і ў матцы тваёй Еўніццы, і я пераканаўшыся, што і ў табе.

Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.

З гэтае прычыны дамяняю табе разьдзьмухаваць поламя дару Божага, каторы ў табе пераз узлажэньне рук маіх;

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Бо даў нам Бог духа ня боязьні, але магутнасьці а міласьці а самавалоданьня.

Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God,

Дык не саромся сьветчаньня Спадара нашага ані мяне, вязьня Ягонага; але цярпі з Дабравесьцяй подле магутнасьці Божае,

who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began,

Каторы спас нас і пагукаў нас сьвятым пагуканьням ня подле ўчынкаў нашых, але подле собскага замеру Свайго і ласкі, данае нам у Хрысту Ісусу перад вечнымі часамі,

but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,

А выяўленае цяпер зьяўленьням Спаса нашага Ісуса Хрыста, Каторы памярцьвіў сьмерць і вынес на сьвятліню жыцьцё і нераскладальнасьць пераз Евангелю,

to which I was appointed a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher [c]of the Gentiles.

Да каторае я прызначаны за агалашэньніка а апостала а вучыцеля народаў.

For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.

Згэтае прычыны я й цярплю гэта; але не саромлюся. Бо я ведаю, у каго я ўверыў, і я пераканаўшыся, што Ён дуж захаваць задатак мой аж да тога дня.

Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.

Моцна дзяржыся зразы здаровых слоў, што ты чуў ад мяне ў веры а міласьці, каторыя ў Хрысту Ісусу.

That good thing which was committed to you, keep by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.

Сьцеражы добры задатак, давераны Духам Сьвятым, Каторы жыхара ў нас.

This you know, that all those in Asia have turned away from me, among whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes.

Ты ведаеш, што адвярнуліся ад мяне ўсі аскія, з каторых Фіґель а Гэрмаґен.

The Lord grant mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, for he often refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain;

Няхай Спадар зьмілуецца над домам Анісіфаровым, бо ён часта чырсьцьвіў мяне і не сароміўся зялезаў маіх,

but when he arrived in Rome, he sought me out very zealously and found me.

Але, прыбыўшы да Рыму, рупна шукаў мяне і знайшоў.

The Lord grant to him that he may find mercy from the Lord in that Day — and you know very well how many ways he ministered [d]to me at Ephesus.

Хай дасьць яму Спадар знайсьці міласэрдзе ў Спадара таго дня; а колькі ён служыў у Ефесе, ты вельма добра ведаеш.
