Paul, an apostle of [a]Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus,

Павал, апостал Ісуса Хрыста воляй Божай, паводле абяцаньня жыцьця, што ў Хрысьце Ісусе, —

To Timothy, a beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

Цімафею, улюбёнаму дзіцяці: ласка, літасьць, супакой ад Бога Айца і Хрыста Ісуса, Госпада нашага.

I thank God, whom I serve with a pure conscience, as my forefathers did, as without ceasing I remember you in my prayers night and day,

Дзякую Богу, Якому служу ад бацькоў з чыстым сумленьнем, што няспынна ўзгадваю пра цябе ў просьбах маіх уночы і ўдзень,

greatly desiring to see you, being mindful of your tears, that I may be filled with joy,

жадаючы бачыць цябе, памятаючы пра сьлёзы твае, каб мне напоўніцца радасьцю,

when I call to remembrance the [b]genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also.

прыводзячы на памяць некрывадушную веру тваю, якая раней жыла ў бабулі тваёй Ляідзе і ў маці тваёй Эўніцы, і я перакананы, што і ў табе.

Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.

Дзеля гэтае прычыны нагадваю табе, каб ты распальваў дар Божы, які ёсьць у табе праз ускладаньне рук маіх,

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

бо даў нам Бог ня духа палахлівасьці, але сілы, і любові, і цьвярозага мысьленьня.

Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God,

Дык не саромся сьведчаньня Госпада нашага, ані мяне, вязьня Ягонага, але перанось цяжкасьці разам з Эвангельлем паводле сілы Бога,

who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began,

Які збавіў нас і паклікаў пакліканьнем сьвятым, не паводле ўчынкаў нашых, але паводле вызначэньня Свайго і ласкі, дадзенае нам у Хрысьце Ісусе перад вечнымі часамі,

but has now been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel,

а цяпер выяўленае праз зьяўленьне Збаўцы нашага Ісуса Хрыста, Які зьнішчыў сьмерць і зьявіў жыцьцё і незьнішчальнасьць праз Эвангельле,

to which I was appointed a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher [c]of the Gentiles.

для якога я пастаўлены весьнікам, і апосталам, і настаўнікам паганаў.

For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.

Дзеля гэтае прычыны я і цярплю гэтак, але не саромлюся, бо ведаю, у Каго я паверыў, і перакананы, што Ён моцны, каб захаваць перададзенае праз мяне на той дзень.

Hold fast the pattern of sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.

Мей за прыклад здаровыя словы, якія ты чуў ад мяне, у веры і любові, што ў Хрысьце Ісусе.

That good thing which was committed to you, keep by the Holy Spirit who dwells in us.

Захоўвай тое добрае, што перададзена [табе], праз Духа Сьвятога, Які жыве ў нас.

This you know, that all those in Asia have turned away from me, among whom are Phygellus and Hermogenes.

Ты ведаеш, што адвярнуліся ад мяне ўсе, якія ў Азіі, між імі Фігел і Гермаген.

The Lord grant mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, for he often refreshed me, and was not ashamed of my chain;

Няхай дасьць Госпад літасьць дому Анісіфора, бо ён часта падмацоўваў мяне і не саромеўся ланцугоў маіх,

but when he arrived in Rome, he sought me out very zealously and found me.

але, калі быў у Рыме, дужа шукаў мяне і знайшоў.

The Lord grant to him that he may find mercy from the Lord in that Day — and you know very well how many ways he ministered [d]to me at Ephesus.

Няхай дасьць яму Госпад знайсьці літасьць у Госпада ў той дзень; і колькі ён служыў у Эфэсе, ты лепей ведаеш.
